Where are these beautiful songs now a days ? A sweet romantic duet. can listen any number of time ! My salute to all four -- Ravi/Sahir/Mahendra Kapoor/Asha Bhosle ! Thanks for posting.
the best place in the whole world Nainital no matter how many time I go there and see this beautiful lake all the more I want to see again amd again and this beautiful melody. I lived my in Pant Nagar in school years and now I am far far away in US.
A fantastic duet!! Gr8 composition by Ravi ji.I remember,I heard this beautiful song when I was just 6 to 7 yrs old.in Kalyan,Dist- Thana,A circus had come called,The Gr8 Raymon circus. This song was being played on loud speaker.i remember very much.Ashaji-M Kapoor have sung so beautifully that,no words could describe its beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One can overview the famous Naini Lake (Nainital) in the forefront at the commencement of the song. The location is beautiful and so is the song. Long live Mahender Kapoor sahab.
Well said needelhi. Such melodies transport you to another world. The Sounds seem to come from beyond the Mountains. Very enchanting and haunting. It used to be very thrilling to watch such movies in Cinema halls, without prior knowledge of it, as it is happening for today's movies. TV and Internet has taken the thrill out of movies. Fortunate are those who got a taste of life before Internet !!!
Nainital and this song I see every now and then I lived in Pant Nagar Univ I very day would like to go Nainital and see the lake now in Florida it 12 pM at night I am lost in my nainital. and this song
the song the landscape the haunting music and the soothing notes all combine to produce a gentle current of romance. both sunil dutt and mala sinha bring out the emotions so nicely
(as college youngster he got offer to be in film but he decline because he promise to his mother to finish his education and that same commitment you see in their work those were real gold people they are gone now we are left with.....@*%& )
although Mahendra Kapoor saheb was the second choise for BR Films aftter some missunderstanding with Rafi and BR cHOPRA...but what i feel Mahendra Kapoor saheb was a gem..a underestimated talend,,he cant find his right place in film industries among the big names of rafi,mukesh..but i personaly ratted him better than Rafi.
personally i like mahendra kapoor but he imitated rafi even rafi was not against him or something he told him that he should find his own style and it will not be frofitable for him there for rafi lata and mukesh are the best trio because they had their own style and sang immortal songs
@joshuadiesel Personally, I never believe that he even ever imitated Rafi saab, the thing is he was his student and it was only the effect of his great teacher which slightly affected his singing. The pitch, the range, the songs he was chosen to sing every thing was so unique of him otherwise he cannot make his own place among the singers like Rafi Saab, Mukeshji and KishoreDa. He was really genuine and gave us the songs like chalo ek baar , aadha hai chandramaa and many more.
thanks for bringing to my knowledge the fact rafi was mahendra's teacher i didn't know that ,now it makes lot of sense. mahendra kapoor is indeed great
kasam se mahendra kkapoor ki awaaz kya gajab ki hai.....these were the best male singers indian film inductry can ever have....raffi.mahendra,mukesh and kishore
u r correct vssarma....these were the asset of indian musical industry.....its rare to have such a combination of music directors ,singers and lyricists..
n lets also not forget the one n only Mannaday coming back to this duet evrything abt it is superb the music voices lyrics n picturization my fav line zulfon ka har paich bulai aanchal ka har taar pukare perfect feminish devotion whats better in the universe thnx kkhyam
A gem of a song from the very under rated but brilliant duo of Ravi and Mahendra Kapoor. Their songs in this movie and also in Hamraaz among many more are simply out of this world. It was sad to hear about the passing away of Mahendra Kapoor last week. May his soul rest in peace.
Ravi-saheb ki sangeet se kisi aur ki tulna nahin hai! Classic Ravi-orchestrated piece, sung superbly by Mahendra Kapoor-ji and Ashaji! An audio-visual treat!
The song begins as an echo descending from above thru' the clouds. The quality of music especially was much superior in that era. But then was no influence of mafia and petty politics in film making. Now I heard that the story, casting etc got to be aproved by the mafia. Not surprising that everything has come down to this level.Unfortunate.
thanks for posting this lovely duet!!!!!...love Sunil Dutt...thanks Mehandra Kapoor and Asha Ji

It is Nainital - you can see the shape at 1.48. Lake Tahoe is more rectangular.
