off topic but kinda on topic, at our middle school for career day and the swat team actually did a couple demonstrations with this shotgun and they fired blank rounds to show what they do when they have to take a guy down with the german shepard and HOLY SH*T, BLANK ROUNDS ARE EXTREMELY LOUDER THAN THE SMALL BEAN BAG ROUNDS THEY SHOT. AND I HAD MY EARS COVERED, that was the first time i heard a gun fire. 0_0

@EpicWin0CriticalFail You can fire shot through rifled barrels all you want, the barrel will be just fine. The problem is the shot will go just about everywhere but where you are aiming. The rifling will impart spin on the cup, and typically that will translate to the shot flinging out wildly.

Now this was a video worth watching, nice shooting! Slugs and 00 buck hit hard. My favorite buckshot is Federal Flite Control, patterns stay a lot tighter with OC barrels but it's getting harder to find since other shooters are catching on.

For a first time shooting a shotgun would this be a good gun? I'm thinking about buying one but I've never shot a two handed weapon before and I was wondering how much kick it had (if it would mess up my shoulder)

@Intoxiqated so long as you are not disabled or afflicted in some other fashion (or small stature) this shotgun wont hurt you with kick...least nothing permanent...really unless you are using HIGH brass loads at rapid succession, you have nothing to worry about

@Intoxiqated depends on what you have planned for usage for the shotgun, but start out shooting through a box of bird shot (#7.5, 8) at your own pace, then work your way on up to full power slugs and buck shot, depending on the purpose

@zzJerryShufflezz Removable chokes will do the trick. When you want to shoot slugs replace the full choke with a cylinder or improved choke. Then you have yourself an ALL purpose gun.

Besides, should you ever have to shoot an intruder in the middle of the night, you'll be glad that you had fired off thousands of rounds during target practice, and were, therefore, comfortable and familiar with your weapon, even with those sleepy cobwebs in your head, having just woken up.

Love the muzzle shot at night. Most people neglect to do that for their carry ammo and whatnot just to see if the muzzle flash is bearable or if they can maintain their sight picture. Also great shooting! Some very good long shots in the vid. Keep up the great work.

Does anyone know if the express 870 barrels and the regular 870 barrels are interchangeable? I have been told yes and no. I have one of each, and it sure seems to be a fit.

@Pheasant815 Yes they should be completely interchangable. Only thing to remember is that you should never fire Magnum loads in any 870 reciever that is not marked "Magnum".
