Take a look my video of the restoration of my Fleischmann 120/2 and become a member of the mamodforums.co.uk (highly recommended).
There is a page (in the reference room available only to members) where you will find a post with pics on how to solder and do this kind of repairs called how to resolder all kind of things.
The insert is soft soldered. No need for silver solder.
The insert is soldered from inside the endcap. You will need to remove the endcap anyway. Do you see redish or pink color surface on the mentioned endcap?
If you do, you probably have dezinc. Dezinc is like a cancer in the brass. Eventually will spread and destroy the encap. You will get pinholes and steam will escape from the holes. Please confirm you do or do not have dezinc first. In both cases you will need remove endcap anyway.
Glad you will restore it. I can see some pink shades in the endcap, the one that is missing the water plug. I believe it has got dezinc. I recomend to replace the whole endcap with a new one that will include the water plug.

Nice looking engine, looks like a early 1960s version.
