i went crabing with my dad a while back we kept catching crabs that didnt have pinchers they got torn off by either fish or other crabs if this crab here really doesnt have pinchers then maybe they got ripped off
your just as bad as that beepeeoil guy,you should really get your facts together before talking about things which you know nothing about.i am a marine ecologist and yes this is just a crab looking for a viable food source.there are species of animals that thrive at over 3 km deep so that is far beyond 4000 feet and your looking at the rear part of the crabs carapace.please think a little before opening your mouth.
"I don't think it's a crab, and if it was a crab is has evolved into something else"??? What the hell are you talking about? Go watch another ghost hunting show or something...
Lady it's a crab there is ocean life at all depths and we have only discovered a fraction of ocean life that is speculated to exist. Stop over analyzing these bp videos.
It's big, I will say that. But it moves like a crab, in my opinion. Also, there are many many odd creatures in the ocean we have yet to discover, could be mutated you never know. But I honestly think it is a crab of some sort. Arachnids have 8 legs while this creature has six.
Also, The Law of monophyly states that Organisms Never evolve into something else and stop being what they were. They DO evolve, but evolution functions in a manner where by everything that does evolve, still remains part of the family
from where it came, even if it evolves to be different. So Dogs are still part of Canis lupus "wolves" but are more specificly called Canis lupus familiaris. Similarly, because of the same law, Birds are offficaly part of the Dinosaur clade.
That is indeed a crab. Crustaceans of all types have been found All across the the Abysal plane. This includes Amphipods, Isopods and Decapods included. Among the decapods found at these depths are Various Squat lobster species and Indeed several Crabs. The Abysal plane is far from uninhabited..
the claws are at the end of the front legs they are not promonent like other crabs but i am certain thats a spider crab and i think they can live at 5 thousand feet
Spider Crab (Leptomithrax gaimardii) - amongst sea grass. Found in Albany, WA, to Sydney, NSW, including Tas. Usually in deep water, but seasonally seen aggregating in shallow water. Australia. i got this info from oceanwideimages. could be this?
I have a screen shot of one like this and it looks like a mutation. In my pic the eyes of the crab are really weird. Maybe the mutations we are seeing are originally from normal things in the ocean that have evolved through contact with the Corexit dispersant.
Arabella, I would be more concerned about the corexit they are putting in the bottom of the sea floor 24/7. This is interesting, but I have been to Chattanooga sea museum. These creatures are shown there in real life. This is not new. They are depopulating us. See Henning Kemner channel for the latest update. Forget abt. them telling us anything here. Kemner is asking scientists in Denmark to help. We need to get on with more impotant thngs...like depopulation!
@trucking42witness i think its important to look at everything not just focous on one thing this woman has taken incredible footage of something that is being hidden from the human race perhaps people need to stop telling people what they shoudl and shouldnt do and start understanding that there is more to this whole thing than meets the eye peace
@Chris411969 the depth meterto seafloor is above the ALT and reads 4995 which is in feet. Don't know what ALT means, but it is not altitude. On the left is the actual dept of ROV which fluctuates between 4873 to 4891 feet.
thats not a creature......its a crab!!!

Is it possible that the "crab" is a mechanical robotic spider? Goooogle "robot spider" and see one that looks same as on the video.

@Chris411969 The 100 alt is how high over the sea floor he is, and the depth is 4800 feet which you can see oat the top left corner.
