Thing is, I wouldn't buy an iPod touch as a gaming device. Why? Because to sit and play a marathon first person shooter buttons and a up/down/left/right joystick beats a touch screen.

I like the iphone. But to really compare gaming on ipod touch vs ds or psp. How many of those 21,000 games are actually good I imagine far less than the 3,000 mark nintendo ds has. You also are not going to find full featured games like a Final Fantasy on the app store. Don't get me wrong the app store is the king of the simple games but there is reason why those game cost 20-40 bucks.
@Jedibron ahem, the appstore now has full games like psp like prince of persia which they ported from the ps2 version, and gta chinatown wars and many more.
great handheld games console no doubt.. its the best, but internet is dull, music player is dull to use. Video is surprisingly good, in fact thats probably the most surprising out of that system.
@Phenom7896 actually some of the more recent ipod/iphone games are more addictive in my opinion
I could see myself playing a game on the ipod touch in the next few years more likely than picking up a PSP for one, for all the loading time on a PSP its a bit of a hassle that doesn't deliver quite as well as an Ipod does

You guys have to remember the appstore is only a year old. What good games were in the first year of the PSP and DS? Now look at the latest games on the iPhone it's really crazy how good the graphics are and the games are getting bigger and really improving. Take Modern Combat: Sandstorm for example. I downloaded that game and it trumps any FPS on DS or PSP imo . Graphics are sick, fluid and controls are amazing. And it's only gonna get better especially with online play anywhere...
PSP still has better graphics. Final Fantasy Dissidia, Final Fantasy Crisis Core, Tekken 5-6, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, Bleach HTS 5-6 for the WIN~ Sorry Apple its quality not quantity~
