  • I love this song however I did not like some of the images you posted with it, it may be suited with some other of his songs however I do find such a tribute respectful and it is not needed.

  • @ridingtherange1 like a labrador in a field? (A bit strange)

  • wow this song hits home real hard. johny cash is the best ever in country musice he was and still is a god of country! this man is the best you will ever here or ever listen to!

  • "Daddy sang bass

    Momma sang tinner

Papa rolled over and suck it right in her."

    Quote from my perverted father

  • I've just been thinking, imagine if Johnny covered American Trilogy, that would have been amazing!

  • Today would have been my Father's 88th birthday. he loved Johnny like brother. We used to sing this song everywhere, all the time. I miss my dad and Johnny too.

  • @SionedWillicombe

You're 12 and you don't know what this is, but you're loving it

  • @aerie98

I don't understand..do you mean, I don't know what this song is or who sings it? because my parents both like this kind of music so I was basically bought up to listen to this stuff..

  • @SionedWillicombe good To hear Someone So Young Loving The Golden Age Of Country :)

  • this song always makes me happy :D nothing says great like good ol jhonny :)

  • It must be nice to have a good family like in this tune. I had to disown my relatives a long time ago.

  • @ecavuto that's awfully sad that your family couldn't work it out. I'm doing an American Music project on Cash & this song is actually about the struggles his family went thru while he was growing up in the Great Depression. His little brother, Jack, died when he fell on an electric saw and that's why he's in the sky...

  • @brittsyoutoob This song is written by the great Carl Perkins and is about his family, which actually went through similar experiences as Cash's. Perkins' older brother died from complications sustained from their car accident while touring during the "Blue Suede Shoes" days. The younger brother may have killed himself or just died from carelessness in the home...

  • @ecavuto lol thanks i needed that laugh, sry but your pple. family can be the brakes sometimes

  • I just found out that Jan Howard, sang the part of 'mama sang tenor', on this recording. She just told it on Larry's Diner on RFD channel. I thought that voice sounded familiar, but I never could place it.

  • @phantomphriend I had always thought it was June Carter. I saw the same show you did. I was very surprised!!!

  • Because that pictures captures Cash's care for what everyone thought. He played great music filled with honesty and feelings. Seldom to quiet people make history.

  • question: why is there a picture of him flipping someone off in this slide show?

  • He was flipping off the radio stations and d j's who wouldn't play his recordings or play the recordings of the older, more country singers.

  • I absolutely adore this song, both the lyrics and music!

  • Many many thanks for uploading this song, I had a whole album of Johnny Cash songs that my mate made up for me, but I lost them all when my computer crashed, but thanks to you & youtube I think can get them all back. :-) Hooray!!!!
