@360snow555 Yes, the palm-rest has a screw and metal rings that you can add or remove, not sure about the lower end models though. I should mention that the mouse is NOT friendly to many Linux desktops however it seems to work fine with Gnome.
bought the rat 5 also ,its only downside is that the cursor while you listen to loud music and the desk is vibrating the cursor will start jumping like crazy on the screen lol ,which isn't cool at all,if it wouldn't had that problem this would be the most amazing mouse ever
@aowfan Laser mice and possibly optical mice can have their sensors interfered with by various things such as magnetic fields such as from fans, I'm not sure about vibrations though you should seriously consider minimally HALVING your volume if it's interfering with your mouse and not for the sake of being able to use your mouse though for the sake of still being able to hear in five years.
@tugaxD23 Deactivated on Newegg. :( I would like to note that non-Gnome desktop environments for Linux have a LOT of trouble with RAT mice. I emailed their support and they made it clear that they had no intention of improving Linux support. It's a slow and painful process to fix RAT mice in Linux (as Linux has some wonky permission issues and then gives you no sane way to get around them for editing a simple text file). I won't be buying any more Cyborg mice and will likely go back to Logitech.
at the lowest speed in mouse setting, and highest dpi(most accuracy) anything higher that 4000 dpi is overkill, really 3200 dpi is sufficient xD. 5600 dpi is ridiculous and unnecessary :P
I had enough with mouses, its time to get me a gaming rat! lol.... R.A.T. 5 perfect for my 3D modeling Asus laptop, and the kick ass R.A.T. 9 for my bad ass custom build desktop. MS Sidewinder X8 was my first choice before the RATs came out, I'm glad I waited.... These new massively produced wireless gaming mouses are now kicking ass on long battery life... for example.... MS Arc wireless mouse runs up to 6 months on battery life, Rat 9 24hrs non stop gaming action without a charge!
@olijay96 The higher the DPI the faster your mouse moves with less movement. So in other words moving your hand an inch with a 5.6K DPI mouse will make your cursor travel to China faster then the speed of light.
@jabcreations i have a 5.6k dpi mouse, and it never gets set higher than 4000dpi, as it is rediculously overkill, even dropping most modern games to the lowest sensitivity, it still spins you in circles with the slightest movements.
@rich1051414 I think the higher DPI is something that advertisers think will fool people in to thinking a product is better, the same thing applies to contrast ratings for monitors I've read, the numbers are so ridiculous (even if true) that they lose meaning and become pure noise.
@olijay96 Oh I should add that a higher DPI mouse at lower settings will let you accurately move the mouse better when there is low to no acceleration with greater accuracy though having an insanely high DPI is simply overkill.
@josmau12 Is your mousepad clean? Also trying a different USB port. Lastly I'd clean the sensor on the bottom of the mouse with alcohol and a cotton swab like the ones you clean your ears with.
@jabcreations wow that was a fast reaction... i reallly think its the mouse.. it can hold 2-4 months on 2 batterijs so its not for gaming made =p when u right click in a game, and move ur mouse... does it give a smooth view?
@josmau12 When you do production you have to be responsive. ;-)
Do you have a fan near the mouse? If so the magnetic field from the fan when it's on can effect how your mouse moves. I use fans to keep my hands from getting sweaty and grossing up my mouse and keyboard though I have to keep them at a reasonable distance.
@jabcreations nop no magnets or anything.. but can u answer this question =p? when u right click in a game, and move ur mouse... does it give a smooth view?
@josmau12 If my mouse is near a fan NO but if the fan is NOT near my mouse it's usually okay. "Wiggley" right clicking has been a bit of an issue with this and the past mouse though I attribute it to having a fan to keep my hands cool and sweat-free.
@kapquarfa Open up the Cyborg program, go to profiles (at the top), create a profile, save it, click on the mode buttons in the middle to lower left, and activate the profile.
What I'd REALLY like to know is how to have the profiles applied automatically when Windows starts; I have to manually load and activate them every time!
@TheDizzy777 microsoft sidewinder is the first wireless mouse that actualy beats wired mouses how i tested it out with my friends who play quite a few pc games and they said that its the first time they didnt complain about wireless mouse and i do admit about damn time theres a wireless mouse that can get the job done again microsoft sidewinder worth every penny
@bilashhossain That comes down to personal preference though from the looks of it I do prefer this mouse over that one due to the increased functionality even if the second scroll wheel can't be assigned anything I consider useful from the software.
@XxTodeszwergxX It has a 4K DPI and lots of DPI/sensitivity options in the software. I'm not a huge shooter though I would say this mouse should fit most people's needs. The snipe button is pretty sweet. I don 't know about the other mouse.
@flamingaxe791 YEAH! I know, I plan on having gaming videos once I can get you guys over to my forums. That will begin with Beta 2 (Beta 1 is invite only). I am about two-three weeks from Beta 1 and Beta 2 will likely be about a week or two after that unless someone manages to find something I need to seriously fix major. I've been working on Version 2.9 of my site for just over two years now but it'll give me a TON of freedom that I did not have. I'm seriously thinking of getting Starcraft 2.;)
@Robertwright889 Hey Robert! Funny thing the mouse cursor keeps CREEPING away and I hope it's the ratty $2 walmart mousepad. I'm going to buy a gaming mouse pad from Newegg on Monday and see if that resolves that issue. Apparently some of them are laced with poison as a lot of people have reported not being able to stand the funk of mousepads but we'll see...keyboards and nice are SUPER important especially for a production environment that doubles for gaming! ;-)
@jabcreations hmm O_O, let me know if the problem is fixed, but with they keyboard i know what you mean, i own a logitech G11, but i dont use macro keys since its a pain with the logitech software and half of time some games are supported for the use of Gkeys, and i also hate the LCD thingy screen O_O, reason i got the G11 and not the old G15
@Robertwright889 Oh yeah a creeping cursor will lead to Newegg which will lead to package which will lead to video. I forgot things in between but if an associated action occurs I remember things clearly. ;-)
I don't see myself using the macro keys...in fact this keyboard would be perfect without them but keeping everything else...at least for me. Some people may go nuts for the macros. I'm starting to kind of get used to the key spacing...kinda. ;-)
@Ozai01 I flirt with World of Warcraft every now and then (just under 5K GS on my frost mage). I've been SEVERELY tempted by Starcraft II. Diablo III will eat my life up. Oblivion and Morrowind are/were awesome! RTS, RPG, and some shooters (UT2004 is FREAKING AWESOME!). I do love oldies! It comes down to suggestions that I like. I recently almost finished Trine (go check it out!) and I can't forget to mention Heroes of Might & Magic III!
A heads-up to those thinking about buying the mouse: the software crashed and the latest version from the site ALSO crashed. This was on a Friday afternoon so go-figure I am not even going to bother looking for support on the weekend. Logitech software works and I'm still getting used to the keyboard.
@Dawid4Real I haven't gotten the native software to work however I do have some added functionality with the thumb buttons by using X-Mouse Button Control. Will post an update when I get the software to work.
@CerealzTheDude LoL That was a fast comment. I'm not 100% sure about the keyboard just yet. The keys are closer together and the macro keys keep throwing me off. I'll have to post a follow up in like a week or so. Maybe I can get used to it? :-)
Also the mouse software keeps crashing which is major league fail...however since Cyborg is ultimately Saitek I think it's using previous thumb button macros so again I'll have to post a follow up on Cyborg's support response.
can u make the mouse longer

For gaming, does it matter if it is a 4000dpi mouse or does it HAVE to be a 5600dpi mouse. What is the difference anyways??
