The Art of Fighting is great, also, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, and, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena are the most brutal, emotion and awe inspiring fights once you get use to the green screen
@DerangedSlayer13 Pretty much a microcosm of how the world works. I guess we'll all be fighting about nationality, sport, ethnicity, intelligence, religion, films, who shot first Greedo or Han, the usual shit for ever and ever amen
When i was 8 or 9 years, i don't remember, i found this the best scene of the movie. i watched it all over again and again. but now iam 14 and i listen what they say. In the scenes before and after this one. Don't get me wrong this is a beautiful scene but when i was younger the only thing what i wanted to see was this, I wanted to see when i was young now i want to listen what they say.
@haienbleurgh i know that the current armour to protect against modern high speed rifle rounds is like inch thick steel plate. even though it doesn't do shit you'd expect samurai armour of comparable thickness to stop an old fashioned inaccurate musket which would surely be weaker and slower than a current rifle round wouldn't you agree
@ZigZagRunner if you havent noticed samurai armor wasn't completely made of an inch of steel. In fact most of it was bamboo sewn together with one piece of iron covering the chest. And the guns used in the last scene aren't the muskets seen in the first battle. The ones of the last battle are bolt action repeating rifles with aerodynamic rounds, sharp tipped and they spin to gain accuracy. I'd please state which kind of 'modern high speed rifle rounds' would penetrate an inch of steel.
@haienbleurgh all i know is what i see in this video and i didn't see any bolt actions repeating rifles aerodynamic rounds or bamboo armour nor did i say anything of the above. read my original comment and by modern high speed rifle rounds i meant modern rifles. maybe high speed confused you i meant high speed relative to muskets which was my original comment so NEERR
@ZigZagRunner in the last battle, the Imperial army soldiers are all using repeating rifles. Way more powerful than muskets. Modern rifles? Please state which kind. Could be an assault rifle or a .50 cal sniper that fires armor piercing rounds. Original comment says, samurai armor would easily stop musket balls. Answer: NO
@haienbleurgh since i didnt say battle rifle or sniper rifle you can assume standard combat rifles employed by ground troops m4 etc and since your counter argument of no is so strong what would a musket do to reasonably thick piece of metal?. i saw once on mythbusters a musket being fired at an axehead they were trying to split a bullet, by the end of it the axehead was reasonably intact. leading me to the conclusion it wouldn't pierce reasonably thick samurai armour
@ZigZagRunner An axehead is much more different than a samurai's armor. Samurai armor wasn't 'reasonably thick' as you assume. It was designed for mobility and speed not total protection. Much of the armor consisted of bamboo and swen metal plates, the chest was just 1 sheet of iron. Certainly not as thick as European medieval armor which was easily defeated by early matchlock muskets. So if muskets could defeat European armor then it would easily punch through Samurai armor.
@haienbleurgh meh i haven't looked up any of this up on wikipedia or anything and don't have any prior knowledge of european history but don't let that imply i'm dumb i recently got 90 percent in a differential calculus test. I merely assumed that their armour was folded steel like their swords. as for a musket defeating a sheet of metal i'm still suspicious. modern handgun rounds like 9 mm and shotguns are stopped by body armour
@ZigZagRunner well heres a lesson, their armor consisted mainly of just overlapping metal, not necessarily steel, pieces. The metal simply wasn't thick enough to stop a musket ball. Not an inch thick as you originally said.
Your reasonably well thought out argument is totally knocked over by the fact that there've been a number of armour artifacts dug up that've had clear signs of being shot at without result. It was practise with a lot of armorers to SHOOT the armor before selling it, to show that it was worth it.
Course, you can't armor everywhere, and not everyone can afford armor, and horses don't take getting shot at well, so it's not worth much. But at least for a while, armor worked.
Bravos do pelotão - Platoon, is one of the films that most impressed me the best time of my life, 90. Here perfect marriage with the scenes of one of the few films that touched me most in 2000 era
