I don´t care how much they destroyed Bill´s character at the end of season 3, I´ll always love him no matter what. To me Eric and Sookie´s relationship will be very hot thing if it happens but that´s all, nothing else, nothing interesting to me especially after that fact that Sookie and Bill´s relationship seemed so right and believable because they´re in love in real life too.

I don´t care, I´ll always prefer Sookie and Bill, no matter how they are going to destroy their relationship yet. I know what it means to be hardcore fans, I had many couples who didn´t end up together at the end of the show or they had tragic end and I´ve always loved them and nothing will change that.

At that time he was a very nihilistic Vampire and didn't know who Sookie was. She was just a job for him. Then he fell in love with her. To me that just makes there story more interesting and tragic.

@ankatz I felt that my response was respectful and I just wanted to talk about my favorite show. I never said that Bill was a saint. All I said was that he fell in love with her. As a character Bill is capable of great good as well as great evil. He's kind of like a Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hide character and that's what makes him the most interesting and fun to watch character on the show. Plus Stephen Moyer is sexy and that's always a plus.
If you read the books, you learn that when a vamp marries a human, it prevents any other vamps from claiming them. Keeping in mind that Bill sought Sookie out under the Queen's orders, it's logical to assume that this wedding proposal is to get Sookie all to himself, in more ways than one. It seems all romantic, but he's got ulterior motives for marrying her, and when the whole truth is revealed, I doubt she'll ever trust him again. Bill/Sookie shippers better have Kleenex ready!
@hothotheat3000 well, having not read the series and hearing that there were MANY rewrites, is it still worth reading the series? i also heard that godric was a child molester in the books and i loved him as a character in the second season. id hate to think of him like that wen he gave one of the most memorable scenes in the entire show.
@epeemstr The books and the show are 2 completely different entertainments and that's just an example of how different they are. Godric was a truly horrible character in the books. I haven't read all the books nor do I intend to read them all. I like the show much better than the books.
@hothotheat3000 I haven't read the books but if what I've heard is right the show definitely portrays him in better light. He did try to save her during day light, killed a vampire and turned a human as well as trying to kill Russell Edgington and his own maker.
It seems like a conflict of ideas between the creator of the show and the books.

@ankatz I'm not seeing Bill portrayed in a totally positive light but from the show alone Bill is just plain better than Eric. Maybe he started out to "procure" her for queen Sophie-anne but he fell in love and risked his life over and over to save hers.
And if you think about it all the danger Sookie has faced isn't Bill's fault, its Eric's; he used his power as sheriff to get Sookie to do what he wanted, first with Longshadow and then in Dallas.
He deliberately let Sookie get beaten almost to death just to give her his blood while looking like a hero, and lied about its effects.
He presented a false image of himself (saying he had only ever killed a few people accidentally) to manipulate her into trusting him as her noble saviour.
His mission was to protect her at all costs, so Sookie will never be sure WHEN he really fell for her, and will always know her first love seduced her as a job
How he is better than Eric is that he considers Sookie a glimmer of hope and someone he can fall in love with and makes him feel almost human again.
But Eric always seems to just want to suck her blood and pretty much every lie he has ever told was out of self-interest and even caused Bill some deliberate pain just to get to her while the lies Bill told were a mixture of protecting her and some self-interest.

@Ashitaka255 It simply isn't true that all danger comes from Eric. It was Bill who came to Sookie with the biggest threath to her, the queen's search of fae blood. Every thing else is a direct or indirect result of her association with Bill. Bill could help Sookie a lot by warning her about the dangers she would eventually face, but decided to keep her in the dark about everything. A lot of what happened this season could be different if Sookie knew more...
@hothotheat3000 I read the books and the way that I understood it is that a human marriage and a vampire marriage are 2 different things. Only a vampire marriage prevents any other vamp from claiming them.

Bill does not propose marriage to sookie in the books, and It's Eric the one that takes her to a french restaurant, and the viking is the one that always invites her to dance, because he knows how much she likes it. I like the show more in some parts than the books, but not in the Eric&Sookie.
Alright, I've not read the books, but here's my take on the continuation of the show. I love Eric--he's the guy fans love to hate (not to mention he's pretty good looking). His attraction to Sookie is interesting to watch and I assume that they will hook up sometime in Season 3 (or the future), but I definitely prefer Bill. I can understand if Sookie has her moments of weakness with Eric (and possibly others), but she should end up with Bill in the end--that relationship should be maintained.
@wmasque I think most fans don't love to hate Eric, they Just LOVE him! lol
If the show follows even just the basic skeleton of the book story, not so great things get revealed about Bill , while sookie and Eric develop a friendship and a very complex and fun relationship that lasts throughout the books, even when they're not officially "together".
Although I like Bill, and I'm convinced he loves Sookie, I'm not sure he's actually the best choice for her... but we'll see how the show goes.

@laughinmate to watch sookies journey(purpose of books) trust me its more than her relationships. It's about sookie's growth & things she goes thru. 3rd book & on get real good & she gets deep into supe world. *spoiler* she is single for a lot of the books, but its interesting. E/S will connect but not in a relationship right away, it will be a slow process, bill will be around in her life too. There is a purpose for it to happen this way, when you get towards end of books you see this.
@laughinmate well to your comment earlier, alot of ppl do want to see E/S. Even on most TB forums youll see a majority of ppl favoring this relationship. So I don't think it would effect the show, however i dont want them to get together just yet either.
@Dee6849 I love everything in the show but I only actually care about Bill and Sookie. The rest is very entertaining, I just won't be bothered about what happens to them if they part. I like watching Eric but I am not really interested in him and Sookie getting together. That's my personal feeling. Lots of people feel that way too. If they make Bill turn to a computer I will switch off !
@laughinmate well, I feel the exact opposite LOL! Sookie&Bill scenes are those I find less interesting. I like Bill on his own, and I love Sookie except when she's with Bill. Together, they just don't work for me... and I certainly don't watch for them! I think the show as a whole will benefit from them being separated, and while I know many people disagree, I'm sure at least as many, if not more, share my sentiment... but obviously it's all in the hands of mr Ball!

If you read the books, you learn that when a vamp marries a human, it prevents any other vamps from claiming them. Keeping in mind that Bill sought Sookie out under the Queen's orders, it's logical to assume that this wedding proposal is to get Sookie all to himself, in more ways than one. It seems all romantic, but he's got ulterior motives for marrying her, and when the whole truth is revealed, I doubt she'll ever trust him again. Bill/Sookie shippers better have Kleenex ready!

@hothotheat3000 well, having not read the series and hearing that there were MANY rewrites, is it still worth reading the series? i also heard that godric was a child molester in the books and i loved him as a character in the second season. id hate to think of him like that wen he gave one of the most memorable scenes in the entire show.

@epeemstr The books and the show are 2 completely different entertainments and that's just an example of how different they are. Godric was a truly horrible character in the books. I haven't read all the books nor do I intend to read them all. I like the show much better than the books.

@hothotheat3000 I haven't read the books but if what I've heard is right the show definitely portrays him in better light. He did try to save her during day light, killed a vampire and turned a human as well as trying to kill Russell Edgington and his own maker.
It seems like a conflict of ideas between the creator of the show and the books.

@Ashitaka255 the only reason he tried to kill russell e was to protect his secert. remember? russell was bout to spill the beans about sookie's powers and he didnt want the secret out to sookie that bill had been sent to procure her. Russell had the file that bill had been keeping on Sookie. remember?
and the files in the folder are OLd. bill had been stalker looking after sookie for a while, he had pics of her when she was young.

@Ashitaka255 sorry if i come off too harsh , it just boggles my mind that people can watch the show and see bill being portrayed in a positive light. even without the rattrays betrayal, the signs are all there. writers have been showing all this season especially how unhealthy the bill sookie relationship is.

@ankatz I'm not seeing Bill portrayed in a totally positive light but from the show alone Bill is just plain better than Eric. Maybe he started out to "procure" her for queen Sophie-anne but he fell in love and risked his life over and over to save hers.
And if you think about it all the danger Sookie has faced isn't Bill's fault, its Eric's; he used his power as sheriff to get Sookie to do what he wanted, first with Longshadow and then in Dallas.

He deliberately let Sookie get beaten almost to death just to give her his blood while looking like a hero, and lied about its effects.
He presented a false image of himself (saying he had only ever killed a few people accidentally) to manipulate her into trusting him as her noble saviour.
His mission was to protect her at all costs, so Sookie will never be sure WHEN he really fell for her, and will always know her first love seduced her as a job

How he is better than Eric is that he considers Sookie a glimmer of hope and someone he can fall in love with and makes him feel almost human again.
But Eric always seems to just want to suck her blood and pretty much every lie he has ever told was out of self-interest and even caused Bill some deliberate pain just to get to her while the lies Bill told were a mixture of protecting her and some self-interest.

he didn't try because he wanted to look like the better man, plus she was owned by Bill but he has expressed interest in it since they met.
it was a light kiss, vampires can't help it if their fangs come out when they're aroused and it probably wasn't a deep enough kiss for him to get aroused from. He probably has a desire to be human and was in the dream
Maybe you have me there with wanting to look like a hero but I still don't think Eric and Sookie should be together.

@Ashitaka255 He continued to lie even when she bluntly asked if he was hiding something from her, and when she confronted him about the secret file.
He deeply betrayed her trust, and how can she ever trust him again now? When she knows he did something so terrible, and knew so much about her but never told her? His lies didn't protect her at all, they just put her in more danger, and he didn't want to face his responsibilities and the possibility of losing her.

@Ashitaka255 It simply isn't true that all danger comes from Eric. It was Bill who came to Sookie with the biggest threath to her, the queen's search of fae blood. Every thing else is a direct or indirect result of her association with Bill. Bill could help Sookie a lot by warning her about the dangers she would eventually face, but decided to keep her in the dark about everything. A lot of what happened this season could be different if Sookie knew more...

@hothotheat3000 I read the books and the way that I understood it is that a human marriage and a vampire marriage are 2 different things. Only a vampire marriage prevents any other vamp from claiming them.

i know bills nice and all but i'd like it even if they just followed the ROUGH outline of the book... -.- bill was her first love but I don't see why he has to be her last too- besides personally I think Eric and Sookie make a more interesting couple

Bill does not propose marriage to sookie in the books, and It's Eric the one that takes her to a french restaurant, and the viking is the one that always invites her to dance, because he knows how much she likes it. I like the show more in some parts than the books, but not in the Eric&Sookie.

Alright, I've not read the books, but here's my take on the continuation of the show. I love Eric--he's the guy fans love to hate (not to mention he's pretty good looking). His attraction to Sookie is interesting to watch and I assume that they will hook up sometime in Season 3 (or the future), but I definitely prefer Bill. I can understand if Sookie has her moments of weakness with Eric (and possibly others), but she should end up with Bill in the end--that relationship should be maintained.

If the show follows even just the basic skeleton of the book story, not so great things get revealed about Bill , while sookie and Eric develop a friendship and a very complex and fun relationship that lasts throughout the books, even when they're not officially "together".
Although I like Bill, and I'm convinced he loves Sookie, I'm not sure he's actually the best choice for her... but we'll see how the show goes.

@Katherineinreallife Like I said at the end, its just a guess, based on the books and clips that I have seen from season 3. Something will happen with Eric at some point. Hopefully she will end up with Bill. It might not happen like that at all. We all have to wait and see.

I'm sorry Bill proposed already. it means that storyline has come to a head and will have to go in another direction. Yes, we all know where that will lead. I hope the show will be different though.

@laughinmate to watch sookies journey(purpose of books) trust me its more than her relationships. It's about sookie's growth & things she goes thru. 3rd book & on get real good & she gets deep into supe world. *spoiler* she is single for a lot of the books, but its interesting. E/S will connect but not in a relationship right away, it will be a slow process, bill will be around in her life too. There is a purpose for it to happen this way, when you get towards end of books you see this.

@laughinmate well to your comment earlier, alot of ppl do want to see E/S. Even on most TB forums youll see a majority of ppl favoring this relationship. So I don't think it would effect the show, however i dont want them to get together just yet either.

@Dee6849 I love everything in the show but I only actually care about Bill and Sookie. The rest is very entertaining, I just won't be bothered about what happens to them if they part. I like watching Eric but I am not really interested in him and Sookie getting together. That's my personal feeling. Lots of people feel that way too. If they make Bill turn to a computer I will switch off !

@laughinmate well, I feel the exact opposite LOL! Sookie&Bill scenes are those I find less interesting. I like Bill on his own, and I love Sookie except when she's with Bill. Together, they just don't work for me... and I certainly don't watch for them! I think the show as a whole will benefit from them being separated, and while I know many people disagree, I'm sure at least as many, if not more, share my sentiment... but obviously it's all in the hands of mr Ball!

This show makes people feel so much one way or the other its amazing. watching it last night I realised that if Bill was not in it I would like all the other stuff even more, but Bill overshadows everything else for me. Sad, I know! I don't know how you can not like their chemestry together even if you don't like Bill very much.

@laughinmate I liked their chemistry better S1. S2, he was too over protective, always Sookie no don't go, don't get involved, dont say that & telling her what to do a bit too much. It takes away from Sookies character & spirit of the books which is 1 thing ab said he would maintain. Sookie has to be a strong female character. Thats just bein honest, not biased. Felt like that before i read books which was after s2

@Dee6849 I read the books at the very begining of season one, so I never had any opinions of the characters. I did not like the way Sookie's character progressed, too slutty for me. I dont like werewolves, too close to bestiality! I don't think she is a good role model for women in the books, she is not a very moral person. She goes from virgin to slut so fast. I really hope that she remains a moral person in the show.She can still be strong and have BIll as well.

By being strong, i meant she has to get into supe world, Bill will constantly try to stop her and take charge of the situation and she will always plays the damsel in distress if bill is always by her side. Again, thats my opinion everyone is entitled to their own so what you feel is not wrong just your opinion

She fancied anything in trousers, but it was written with humour, and it was funny, since she was not with Bill anyway. I could not accept that behaviour with show Sookie though. She and Bill have a real and true love. It would just make her look shallow,and yes,slutty. Thats just my opinion.

He is younger than Eric (and always be) but he is a very powerful vampire already, even when he is young, I wouldn't be surprised if he was better at the age of Eric than Eric himself. But an ancient viking warrior is a lot more sexi than a american civil war solider. Sorry girls.
