I think Alabama should play UAB in basketball and football.I really don't know why Alabama is so scared.There is no way UAB is going to take recruits from Alabama,there is to much tradition countless players in the NFL,at least 95,000 fans at every football game oh can't forget 12 National Championships.They say college football is all about the dollar these days.If they play UAB think about all that extra millions of dollars you can be making.Only idiots turn down extra money.

I'm a die hard BAMA fan and i really wish this game was played every year. Its a shame that BAMA don't wanna play UAB. What i don't understand is they'll play Southern Miss or anybody else in C-USA but they won't man up and play the Blazers. BAMA really needs to take a hard look at other big-time programs thats playin their little brother and see its not hurting their program. Sadly we wouldn't want to give other in state schools recruiting help so it wont happen, but I would really like to see how Bama and the Barn could hold up agaisnt Troy

Frank Haywood and Stanley Jackson were great in this game. A very historical game I might add. I was a junior when UAB beat UA and they never played the game again.  Wimp Sanderson desperately feared Bartow and UAB and for good reason. Looks like UA still doesn't want the competition or the recruiting wars. Still, we have our single victory and it's great to see this game again. Go Blazers.

I was there. The looks on the faces of the uat fans was priceless!! And after the game, the only thing I heard was stunned silence. THAT WAS THE BEST PART, CAN YOU IMAGINE? A BAMMER THAT WAS SILENT AFTER A GAME!?! Gene Bartow was the greatest coach in the state of Alabama and with 647 Wins and a .647 winning percentage, deserves to be in the basketball hall of fame.
