  • An enemy can be dissuaded from attacking by a show of familiarity with one's weapon of choice. If it's clear your weapon is an extension of your being to the point that you can "play" with it, it sends an intimidating message. This is the whole point of "Military exercise".

  • if your doing a talent show with sai i would have thought being able to spin them would be kind if a basic, not leaving the hands= Good

  • is that a red and green sai weapon. ohhh its the like bar.

  • sais are weapons.....unless you plan to train with them or fight with them you have no need of owning them....its stupid to screw with a weaponfor the sole purpose of playing tricks with them

  • @dachexicanese The US Marines use rifles in their parade shows. Are you saying that's pointless as well?

  • @CommanderCooper no because unlike this idiot the us marines actually train with their rifles and fight with them....

  • @dachexicanese Incorrect. The rifles that the marines use are M1 Garands. Completely outdated and strictly ornamental. The weapons they train with and use in combat are usually M16's, or some other modern assault rifle.

  • @CommanderCooper ugh...your drifting away from the main point...i said it was stupid to screw with weapon for the sole purpose of playing tricks with them....yes marines use rifles in their parade shows but a marine is a trained soldier and actually know knows how to use a rifle whether it be M16 or a Garand. where as this guy is just a performer who i doubt has any real training and discipline in using a sai

  • @dachexicanese You doubt. So you just automatically assume he has no defense training with them.

  • @CommanderCooper no i don't automatically assume...i have my reasons.....one: the only thing he did that was actually relevant to the actual use of a sai was the way he held it point in....which he only did in the beginning and for a split second in the middle....2: a real martial artist would do an actual sai form which demonstrates the correct usage of a sai....not some random spins....on top a that a martial artist would wear a gi or some other form of martial arts clothing to a show.....

  • @dachexicanese So, just because he's not using the proper usage of a sai means that he doesn't know the proper usage? Do I have to bring up the marines again? Because it's the same situation.

And you're focusing on his clothes now?

  • @CommanderCooper ok forget it...we both have separate opinions so why don't we just leave it at that....

  • @dachexicanese Alright, I'll go with that.

  • Raphael would beat your ass. But, he's a ninja and a mutant. You did pretty good!

  • this guy sucks!

  • KILL ALL GINGERS!!!11

  • why does this have so many dislikes? this rules!

  • Haha, it's funny because Chris Colfer is the awesome gay kid from Glee, it's a tie between him and Elektra....sorry Ginger kid

  • That...was...SAD!!! I think you better sit down and watch a REAL bad-ass at work: Mr. Chris Colfer. He fucking gets the job done with his Sai!!

  • @KurtsieKid350 I love you just for that comment.

  • Everyone starts someplace and I think this shows he likes playing with the Sai and has put some work into it.

  • 0:45 "aui that makes aui to my hand" does he say right?

  • @AnNyanimous

    True dat

  • I just wish people would stop using "gay" to describe things. It's highly offensive to plenty of people out there. Just because the kid wasn't this amazing thing you all came up with in your mind before watching, doesn't mean you have the right to insult him. And while I understand how serious some people get about these things, it's obvious that the kid does it as a hobby and isn't training to fight with them so I'm sure he means no disrespect. It was a talent show and that's what he wanted to

  • It was a bad idea to watch chris colfer showing his sai swords skills first and then this.. It's okay though.

  • this is pretty good and i actually do sai at my dojo how do u spin them like that i need 2 learn that

  • Lol of all the outfits he could have worn....

  • F.A.G

  • bad

  • sorry man but your act was boring!!!

  • Did he just vanish @ the end there?!??!!!

  • anyone can spin it and anyone can throw it up in the air and catch the "blade" how about you throw it up and catch the hilt...

  • @ppppppporing well with sai blade or hilt dosen't mater the thing has no cutting edge. What was the music choice? i mean mean damn da fuck?

  • lmao even a someone gay is better than with those swords, Chris Colfer even knows how to use them properly, not just merely for entertainment. But it's a talent show so yeah... maybe there isn't much of a problem here

  • i threw up a little

  • i guess they saved best for last!

  • Chris Colfer is amazing with those!!

  • shame to martial arts spinning the sai isnt the only thing for sai

  • gia ton poutso Performance ,fovate min xtypisei kana arxidi.

  • I'm actually hoping you didn't win the competition.

  • weak

  • ridiculous...

  • GINGER NINJA!!!!!

  • weak

  • lame

  • Good job man xD

  • GINGER!!!

  • @ Kombatkill- actually kombatkill zai (plural for sai) are not very sharp pointed at all, they were origianally used to deflect blades or trap a blade in the prongs. The pommel (european term) or handle was used to bludgeon people, the points were not used to pierce or if they were they weren't sharp, just a lot of force. They were extensions of the hand and in ancient japanese martial arts, they were just a defensive weapon. Domo-Arigato

  • o.o; might as well be jugglin sai....sais....uhhh

  • ...

  • Now what i want to know is how sharp those sai's are....

  • @PrincessOfRebellion sais have no blades I own a pair myself and I'm learning how to use em so ya

  • ZZZZzzzzZZZzzzzzZZzzZzZZZzz...

  • So does the tall guy just repeat everything the short guy says?

  • you suck

    and you're ginger

  • Not a great performance but as the guy said he was just having fun. As for all these idiotic wannabe ninjas (you insult my honah!) get a life the guy is not from feudal japan so he can do what he wants. It's no different then if the guy wants to juggle with burning batons.

  • buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • martial arts, not amazing..

but the performance was really cool!

    keep it up, yo!

  • Coll performance. Is the first guy a midget or the other guy a giant?

  • the performance did suck... but it was all in fun! :]

stop bitching about it being "disrespectful"

you're most likely not a master anyways, calm down.

  • Hey cut him some slack. Let him do what he pleases. I really find comments about using them for fun bullshit. Look at guns for an example. They are used for war and self defense, yet there are hundreds of thousands of people who shoot guns for fun. Regardless of all your bullshit comments I'm sure he'll keep doing this. So you might as well save everyone the trouble of reading how pissed you are about other people doing things you disagree with. He's doing what he enjoys doing.

  • I know that there are 2 kinds of nunchucks.

    1. for the martial arts and another one for freestyle.

Is it the same thing for sai?

  • i dont know about freestyle but one type of sai is for throwing and one is more for defensive manouvers

  • This guy is a disgrace to Kobudo. Sai is not for fun, CLOWNs at circus r better than him.

  • well...theres no point in ripping on this guy since we all know that it wasnt the greatest performance

  • that really sucked

  • hahahahaha

  • what a disgrace i would have loved for those sai to be sharpened which is as untraditional as tricking with sai so that he will pay for making a mockery of a great weapon

  • right on and that is not traditional clothing

  • Sais are martial arts weapons! NOT toys! They were for defence of your own life and should not be shown as an example of having fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its not sais buddy. japs dont use plural words. its ZAI

  • I know that but I'm trying to say it so people know what I am talking about. If I say zai then he'll think I'm talking about something else!

  • First of all, terrible discrage from the culture, sais are not "for fun"

Second, those were obviously not very sharp pointed, so you didn't even have much danger (or talent) going on, i mean, it looks like you practiced for a few weeks. 2/5 NOTHING SPECIAL.

  • White weapon was not invented "for fun"... Besides he showed nothing special.

  • I'm not saying it's bad.. However, Sai are a martial arts weapon. They aren't designed for playing.

If something went wrong, someone could have gotten seriously injured.

Though they are blunt, they have the full power at the very point. My sensei still insists that if you throw a sai at someone's feet, it could probably still impale them. Failing that, it would do a lot of damage.

  • it was a bad performance too...

  • I was at least trying not to be too blunt lol. Oh well.. ;)

  • you are very good. sai is a very solid weapon and is not as flashy as nunchaku so many people down them. don't them, you did great. keep up the great work.

  • Yeah its cool... Great twirling!

Although its sai, you should still treat it with respect and honor. Just like a katana or a bo, its a traditional weapon, not a circus act...

  • COMMUNITY COLLEGE..

  • Pretty good for no training! I would've cut myself!

  • fuckin yanks ay, if tht was england he wud get his hed kicked in for b in so lame

  • thats prettyy good tbf(Y)

  • gay

  • a total insult to the martial arts

  • I second that

  • the author actually declares:

"I have no training, No martial arts... Just for fun"... so WTF man!..

    pay attention

  • Comment removed

  • @kittybaby999 did chris colfer send you here?

  • @kittybaby999 I'm sorry, can you read? He said it wasn't meant to be a Martial Arts performance. And for no training whatsoever, it was pretty good!

  • friggin napolean dynamite.

  • wanna be

  • Gee, why don't you hok up with master Lee Barden (sic), you could have a majorette contest.

  • Mine arent blunt or round the tip isnt a point but its sharp!

and mine came from Okinawa Japan I got mine from Shureido finest Sai

  • Wow that was pretty pathetic. I really was trying to find some redeeming quality to that, but the closest I could come up with is like the Arab chicks that dance with a sword on their head... Yeah sure they have a weapon, but they obviously do not know the first thing about using it! This is kinda like Napolean Dynamite...

  • Omg. Suck?

Why does he keep touching the blades?

  • Sais are not bladed. They are round and even traditionally blunt. It is normal to hold the sais by the "shaft" especially when throwing one.

  • im 11 and can do better than that. ill post a vid on request

  • i think he did well for someone with no training but it would be better to have some.

  • oh please! that was pathetic. jennifer garner could do it too. she had some training too but she's still no pro, yet she could do it so well. this guy juz repeated the same tricks over and over again. i wonder if someone attacks him with a pair of sais, can he save his ass?

  • name of the song???

  • he suck!

  • Music???

  • the crooked camera makes it more epic

  • wtf? thats so worse...sry but eben my little sister could do it better than him

  • gay as hell!!

  • judging by the wrap job, the color and sound of them being clanged together then drawn back i'd say those are the aluminum competition sai i use and that was nothing special to watch to be honest. no sai is solid, the middle shaft is hollow after the knob.

  • judging by the wrap job, the color and sound of them being clanged together then drawn back i'd say those are the aluminum competition sai i use and that was nothing special to watch to be honest. no sai is solid, the middle shaft is hollow after the knob.

  • he put one finger in and spun it round, then round, then round....then he threw it up and caught it, then he put one finger in and spun it round, then round, then round....not exactly rocket science is it?

  • hey how do you do that man

  • I dont care if her doea martial arts or anything but spinning them with one finger is just really annoying. with the real sai they would be too heavy to do that. Plus you dont have any control over them. 1 could have just flown into the crowd.

  • Actually these are real sai swords (solid steel) and they can be spun with just one finger. Try it sometime. The weight isn't really an issue at all. Also, the crowd wasn't in any danger. They are at least 20 feet back from the stage.

  • i agree! I can spin them but by having still attached to my wrist like elektra! Anyone can pick up the sais and spin them like that! I did not see i figure 8 or anything!

  • Lol. I'm guessing you've never held real Sai ;). Nice Vid, i'm trying Sai now i'm done with nunchaku, they're a bit scarey to swing about, my loose a foot..

  • seriously you all need to read the discription it says NO MARTIAL ARTS U FOOLS he is spinning them not preforming attacks good lord jesus. and if you all must know sias r blunt defensive weapons the main object of sais is to block sword attacks no need for the sharp point so could this argument about him not being able to attack and weither they should be sharp or not END?!!

  • jesus chrsit what the hell is he doing he is embarressing all martial arts :(

  • Lol all you did was twirl them like cheerleading batons. No type of attack was used. That was no example of a Martial Arts weapon.

  • You're pretty good, but IMO that show isn't so good.

  • this is actually pretty poor effort, his just juggling them and not using them in any way they are used for in martial arts. its all just for a lil kids circus show!

  • no ohhshit, blunt or sharp, optional

  • dude you did an awsome job! keep doing what ur doing!

  • do all sais HAVE to be sharp?

  • no sais arent suposed to be sharp they just sharpen them for movies

  • u are wrong origonal sai's are sharp

  • no they were not.

  • yes they were do some research

  • look up sai on the internet...it'll tell you that sai's are traditionally blunt because they are defensive weapons...do your research before you try to talk shit.

  • no, you are wrong.

  • Nope. Traditional sais are neither bladed nor sharp. They are blunt and round.

  • no, most aren't

  • Man, I can totally appreciate that. I just bought a pair myself the other day, and it's not really that easy. I dropped one and hit my second toe on my right foot. Always wear shoes when practicing sai spinning, folks!

  • if you want some self-instruction, watch movies like mortal kombat or elektra or something, that's how i got good. im self taught.

  • elektra doesn't even hold them right.

  • elektra does hold them as she is told. Jennifer had a trainer that taught her sai art. but she had to hold them that way because it's the personal holding-style of Elektra

  • yh coz if she holds them the way she does, i na fight, her fingers are gonna gt smashed :S

  • COOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • did they think you were cool?

    did you?

    i didn't.

i perform better with sai, i'm only 14.

    sheesh.

    the music was corny, too.

    just some constructive criticism.

  • Nope, I suck and I know it. I only bought them about a month before that show and had no instruction of any kind. But university talent shows are hard up for much talent so I got in. haha

  • jysnrox122...you aint shit. you run your mouth too much.

since kids like you try to emulate comic book characters so much....I deliver a message....SHUT IT ! ! !

  • Wow.

You have pretty strong emotion towards a youtube comment.

Maybe it's about time you got a new hobby.

  • oooooooh! speak for yourself puss.

You broke a martial art decency, you got repaid.

arrogance is not a merit badge.

  • how did you teach yourself?? I've practiced by watching the movies on tv and my family friend. I do have a spinny thing, but it sometimes gets messed up. I'm 13, lol.

  • I totaly agree man.. =|

  • dude jysnrox122...shut. up.

    just some constructive criticism.

  • Aww.

    YouTubers don't like me.

Sorry that you all are lamers.

    =)

  • =)

    .

  • Nah, sais have different types. There are types where the middle prong isn't sharp on purpose and other types where they are.

  • there are no spasific types there not suposed to be sharp they were made to measure and plant rice...and to manipulate a katana sword

  • wat a noob

  • Nope. I bought them in Ohio (USA) and they didn't even check for an ID. However, the blades and points are not sharpened on this set.

  • Traditional sais are neither sharp nor bladed anyway. Only the Americanized Hollywood type would be. So count yourself lucky for having gotten an authentic set of sais.

  • i bet you won didn't you?

  • u suck

  • nooo its was very god

  • Sorry dude, but my grandmother perform better than you do...
