@gmosindahouse you can shift up and down gears with both the paddles on the steering wheel, and the gear lever so in that situation you would use the gear lever

Hats off to the M5 chasis! If there is one thing more exciting than the M5 V10, it is the chasis! I have driven on the Autobahn at 160mph in a BMW 530d, which is itself a very competent sports sedan, but always had to back off to 120-130 mph going through the turns. Seeing the M5 actualyl accelerate past 160 mph through a turn is just incredible! What handling!

The good news is that a 2006 M5 can now be had for less than $50K. Give it another year or two and some more escalation in the fuel price and a man can touch one for $40K... :)
