Virginia Tech joined the ACC in 2004. They've won the Championship 4 out of the 6 seasons they've been a part of the ACC. 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2010, I'd say that's pretty impressive.
They beat Texas in the 1995 Sugar Bowl.
Also beat Cincinnati in the 2009 Orange Bowl.
I'd say those two wins could be considered "Big" since they're legit bowl games.(Meaning they're not the GoDaddy.com Bowl. lol)

I'm personally not applying to UVA because it doesn't offer interior design (my intended major) BUT I don't see the big deal. UVA is a good school. So is VT. I've visited both and I like both campuses but I'm not applying to either one, so it's not as if I'm biased for or against either of them. I just see the good side, and I think that all this rivalry is kinda stupid. But maybe that's why I'm going into art. I don't care about this normal college stuff like football and Greek life...

I will say this, 1- both VA tech and UVA are horrible programs, if VA tech was apart of a good conference, they would crumple.... , 2 - collin, you should not be talking about college football at all, stick to the NFL, you are achually good at talking about the NFL, you have NO IDEA what your talking about when it comes to college ball... 3- Collin is an obvious VA tech fanboy.... hes giving them WAYY too much credit... but then again this is the same guy who told Non BCS teams to quit whinnin.

Virginia Tech has won at least 10 games every year since 2005. and i believe there is only 1 other team that has done that. lets just say if they played ohio states schedule this year they would atill be an 11-1 or 10-2 football team. and if they played floridas schedule they would still be a 9, 10, or 11 win football team.

It's funny how sports all of a sudden become important when vt gets good at them. I never once heard a hokie brag about baseball until they broke the top 25 this year. Anyway let's just take a look at all the sports real quick. The record all time for all sports is 386-240-7 with Virginia leading, since tech joined the acc UVA leads 70-37-2. Assuming tech wins all the games in the "important sports" (football and basketball) it will take about 48 years to catch UVa. Don't hold ur breath.

I hate to say it but I got to agree with Mr. NO Talent Cowherd the UVA football program under Groh was soft. I'm a big fan of UVA because I was born in Charlottesville and I will never stop having love for my team but I got to call it how I see it. we put great players in the NFL every year but we can't do anything with them when we have them. I mean come on UVA fans we beat VT one time under Groh and that was in 2003 we can talk shit to VT when we beat them 6 years in a row.

I'm personally not applying to UVA because it doesn't offer interior design (my intended major) BUT I don't see the big deal. UVA is a good school. So is VT. I've visited both and I like both campuses but I'm not applying to either one, so it's not as if I'm biased for or against either of them. I just see the good side, and I think that all this rivalry is kinda stupid. But maybe that's why I'm going into art. I don't care about this normal college stuff like football and Greek life...

At the same time, UVA pends 4 to 5 times more on its program than W&M. Pretty poor use of money, but give W&M credit ... they had a great team. Now, enough said.
