  • Ever seen Chamblee's swing in his day? Looks like my grandpa.

  • I was going to comment but bwillis said exactly what I was thinking

  • Wow, lets organize and criticize the bad swings of all the players and see what we find

  • chamblee is the biggest faggot ever to talk about anything i cant even start to write any of the 10 things i have to say about this ignorant shit

  • Brandel....... Dead on. Well done sir.

  • Everyone defending Tiger's swing is stupid, I love Tiger but his swing is awful hence he is going through drastic changes. He is with Foley to get back to where he was in his hay day, stupid Haney had him all messed up and I think that made his already bad knees worse I think if he can make the changes he is looking for watch out.

  • So true @LtDansGamertag

  • Hunter stands farther from the ball than tiger which helps promote swinging around his body as opposed to tigers steeper swing. Hunters swing reminds new of tigers back in 2000, across the line at the top.

  • @Romy06L I agree with you for the most part i dont think brandel was going off on sean foley. Obviously Sean Foley knows more the majority of the human race about the swing. I just think Brandel was explaining to the fans why Tiger was hitting it so bad. Youre right when tigers swing is on not many look better. Def not Hunter Mahan

  • Yeah great stuff Brandel......completely wrong but it's still great comparison of two different camera angles and trying to pass them off as the same.. You idiot

  • I think this is a great analysis by brandel.. however sean foley isnt the one swinging the club sean foley knows 100x what brandel chamblee knows about the golf swing

  • the camera angles are not the same, the difference benefits brandel's analysis

  • LMAO, I'd take Tiger's position at the top over any golfers, ever! Look at how athletic that looks and how parallel his club is at the top!!!

    Brandle is such a TOOL!!

  • @Romy06L you dont have to win pga tournaments to be an expert at the golf swing like brandel.. obviously what he said makes perfect sense Tiger's swing has been shit the last few years

  • @hlggolf21 When you miss the line 90 yards you don't need to be an expert to find out that the swing is sick on that shot, this guy is just useless.

But saying Mahan swing is way better than TW swing in general is bullshit. So once again Chamblee must shut up, Foley knows way more about golf swing than this dumbass full of crap.

  • "hunter mahan never gets stuck" "he can do ANYTHING through the ball"

Poooohahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahaha chamblee is such a moron what a retard swing analysis!

Woods PGA tour win : 71

Chamblee PGA tour win : 1

    Just shut the fuck up.

  • @Romy06L Tiger has 72:)

  • @shapoopydoopy no he doesnt he has 71 PGA tour events the chevron was just a challenge event in the pga's "silly season"

  • @Romy06L "Tiger Woods almost can't do anything" AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, Chamblee, you're an ignorant cunt.

Tiger Woods: 72 PGA Tour Wins

Brandel Chamblee: 1 PGA Tour Win

I agree with Romy06L, shut the fuck up.

  • @Romy06L

Because YOU are the great master analyst of the golf swing? Why don't you keep your insults to yourself, and why don't YOU sh... the f.. k up?

  • Different camera angles mean any comparison is meaningless.

  • Chamblee misses what everyone else has missed in this analysis.LOOK AT TIGERS UPPER LEFT ARM, HE HAS ROTATED CLOCKWISE HIS HUMERUS IN THE SHOULDER SOCKET. This has his left arm moving off his chest and he has become disconnected and consequently laid-off. As as with many who get laid off, he also palmer flexes (bows) his left wrist. Look at the position of his left shoulder at the top, it's lifted up to his chin. If he corrected this his lack of body rotation would barely matter.

  • Chamblee is a hater and always shows it in his comment!!twat! How many awards has mahan won.. better yet, chamblee and mahan together have won

how many now?.. ahh thats what i thought! whats is a critic? some one who can't do what you do so they end up criticizing you!

  • 'Residual patterns'. Give the guy this off season to work on the 'Foley swing', and he'll be killing it again next year. I love how they critique Tiger's execution of the new move before he's even had a chance to work on it. This 'critique' was in March? Talk to me in March of '12.

  • So Brandel WHY does he do this in the takeawy ?? and didnt Brandell suggest a few years ago that strightening the right leg (which is essential inorder to turn the lower body more) a bad thing ???

  • Also: If you had a year like Tiger had in 2000, why in God's name would you ever change anything big? Why would you completely redo your idea of what the swing should be at that point? Rrrr.

  • Incidentally, I respect Chamblee a lot and generally think he knows what he's talking about, but in fact Woods did NOT look like Mahan through impact when he was at his best. Mahan looks more like McIlroy at and just past impact, with an upper body that (IMHO) is too far ahead of the swinging motion and a right side that is too unreleased--but when that's timed well, you can hit good shots. In Tiger's case...

  • @emncaity

...at his best, you'd see the shoulders closed right up until impact or almost impact (depending on the nature of the shot, desired curve, how hard he was going at it, etc.), which is--I'm telling you, check the still frames--exactly what Hogan used to do. Changing directions with the shoulders, driving them ahead of the swing through impact, etc., is death for most players. Having said that, Chamblee is exactly right about how TW's backswing and position at the top doom him.

  • I am seriously trying to figure out where everybody started believing Sean Foley was a genius anyway. I'll ask the same thing I do of the hardcore one-plane-swing advocates: How many of your guys are dominating the tour? How many have been among the greatest players of all time? If the answer is few to none, why do I want to do that?

  • I honestly think that stack and tilt shit isn't gonna work for Tiger.

  • This is Sam Shah President of PivotPro. Love his analysis - I think he is one of the best asset Golf Channel has. His analysis and observations are almost always on the mark. Good job.

Tiger needs to get back to basics. Sean is a good teacher, but if you look at Tiger's Swing from his childhood, he always had where he shifted his weight to the back leg. His current swing looks too robotic, he is having a hard time where he can keep his top center behind the ball.

  • tiger has always snapped, like most tour players do--their left leg snaps right before impact--its not a flaw, its just a sign your moving your lower body dynamically and correctly. IMO-Tiger should drop all these teachers and do what Hogan did.

  • @pawndominance1 Pretty soon he'll have no choice but to go back to "Five Lessons" Only a matter of time before his left hip, knee and ankle will no longer work. In the meantime, Tiger needs to stop with all the B.S. swing changes and stop blaming his swing. Its a personal character flaw that needs fixed and the solution is not some Magical Foley swing overhaul. Golf is a game measured by a number of shots, NOT by how pretty your swing is.

  • @BenHoganPGA I'm sorry but 5 Lessons wasn't even written by Hogan. Have you heard the backstory?

  • @dschultz6072 Its ok, you don't have to be sorry. I know Hogan didn't write 5 lessons, it was just some big conspiracy. Everyone knows Chuck Norris and Charles Barkley went back in time and wrote the book. Herbert Warren Wind was just the editor and not the author, so get your facts straight before spreading BS. You shouldn't have to make wild claims to be special. Go give your mommy a hug and have her tell you how special you are.

  • Comment removed

  • @dschultz6072 Touchy? yes, I am after your brilliant claim. And I am well aware of the history of "five Lessons". MR. Hogan expected to be paid handsomely for his life work and would you blame him? But to imply that he just wanted the money and let Wind write the SI articles on his own, is just proving your ignorance. Sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder but if not, read a better book "Mr. Hogan, The Man I Knew". Kris will have a good chuckle reading your original claim.

  • Tiger needs to go back to Butch. He doesn't have the time nor the patience to try and figure out the Foley method. That's why Tiger keeps going back to his old swing from Haney. There was not much wrong with his swing when he was working with Hank. Remember, Tiger is not changing his swing to get better. He is changing his swing because Hank Haney dropped him and he needs another swing coach. I don't think the Foley method will ever work for Tiger. He really needs to return to Butch.

  • FYI Chamblee......Tiger NEVER looked like Hunter through impact. If you didn't have such a strong dislike for Tiger you would know that. Just last night Chamblee was on Tony Bruno's show saying Tiger will never dominate again. That's his opinion and he's entitled to it but it's a bais one which is based the distain he has for Tiger. I'm just curious. How many majors did chamblee win? I thought so, lol.

  • @SwingItLikeMoe he might not have won anything but he sure does know the golf swing! maybe he should teach tiger.

  • @dschultz6072

No kidding. Jack Grout wasn't one of the greatest tour players in history either, but he was the lifelong teacher of the greatest major championship player who ever lived.

  • Chamblee you waaaaaaay out of line comparing Tiger Woods to Ty Cobb. He really crossed the line doing that and should make a public apology to all those offended by that remark on the golf channel

  • @MatrixFactoryGuy I found that comment interesting. I think what he was trying to say was Cobb was a bitter person at everyone, and now so is Woods. I don't think he was comparing him by their personalities.

  • Chamblee is an ass clown

  • Different camera angles...bullshit....

  • all this talk about woods swing is nonsense he simply misses too many fairways, now and then but then he could overpower his way out of the rough and had the short game and was a decent putter now even correct his swing and enough of his game is gone that it won't matter Johnny Miller was a far better player for his brief cometlike sweep across golf but it went fast because of the putting

  • Right on. Rarely agree with this guy, but this sounds right on. Tiger's completely run out of both right arm and jump by the time he gets down to the ball. The ballstrikers know what I'm talking about.

  • @bunkerputt If you agree with Chamblee you don't know what you are talking about. WAtch wayne's analysis

  • Haha hunter mahan never gets stuck hahaha he can do anything through the ball hahaha hunter most be embarrassed to watch this. He is refering to hunter mahan like he is the best player that has ever played this game like he never misses the fairway.

  • @f0cusen

Top 5 in ballstriking on tour would argue against you.

  • This is like comparing John stockton to Michael Jordan both were great athletes but obviosuly jordan wa superior.Same goes for woods he is the superior athlete all woods need to focus on is not getting his chest aimed to far left and turning his left foot out a bit this combo will aloow for a free uncoil and keep his swing straight going though.

  • Who is this guy explaining Tiger's golf swing? Ah that is Chambetter.Go caddy on the mini tour Mr. know it all and better yet go pick up Tiger's golf balls on the range.

  • hahaha he does not turn his core and his lowerbody haha Chamblee is not looking at the right thing he does turn his lowerbody and his core. And when you are comparing two swing you need identical camera angles otherwise it's hard to compare swing. Bad Camera angles Tiger woods did snap up in 2000 haha Look at waynedefrancesco's swing analysis of this video.

  • As a golf instructor its almost embarrasing to listen to this so called instruction by Chamblee. Please, do yourself a favor and use more scientific methods to prove your claim. How does he assume that Tiger is not rotating his lower body or even worse, claiming he doesnt use his core muscles when Tigers best known for using them. Cant the Golf Channel get decent, educated instructors on air who know what their talking about instead of having this one 1 PGA tour victor give his useless opinion?

  • @samimalmstrom I think the point Chamblee is trying to make is that Tiger gets stuck.

Look at the video one more time.

  • The problems with Brandel Chamble... 1) He has ONE PGA Tour Victory 2) Made something like 190 our of 400 PGA Tour Cuts 3) As an older player, he is biased to more upright swings. He has no clue about modern golf instruction.

Tiger is working on getting the club more inside at the beginning of the back swing and more vertical at the top. The swing in this video is a work in progress.

  • @griprm how many majors/wins does Harmon, Foley, Leadbetter etc have?

2 of those you would consider "old school" - do you think they have any clue about the golf swing? modern or not.

  • First, Tiger's and Hunter's down-the-line camera angles are DIFFERENT! So, their movements during the golf swing will appear as strange as Brandel CHUMP-blee is making them. Secondly, the commentators are counting on the ignorance of less informed viewers, so they (the commentators) will appear wiser. Don't believe the words of the announcers behind the curtains at Golf Central. OPEN YOUR EYES! USE YOUR BRAIN! They'll continue to bash Tiger while reaping the financial rewards he brings to golf.

  • @bentnrk I agree!

  • but if its too far behind him, doesnt he get stuck? doesnt the take-away help him keep it in front of him throughout his entire swing? although his swing now looks a bit tight and stiff..

  • @onionsoup32 Well, the thing is it does not anytime a player takes the takeaway to much to the outside above the plane the you have to correct it reroute the club this often puts you in a laid off position at the top of your backswing tiger woods did this 2010 at the masters. The main reason why tiger woods and other players get stuck is because of the swing sequence when tiger woods get stuck he gets to quick with his hips and his arms get left behind.

  • it couldn't be that Tiger was trying to hit a cut? Taking the club outside the hands? Ever heard of that Chamblee?

  • Good stuff. More on golfwrx
