The explanation does not fit other theories. Look at the background stars and how they get brighter after V838 explodes. What is causing the lensing effect if the material was already there and the light merely reflected off it? Light can not cause a lensing effect. What caused those stars to become brighter? The only thing that could cause a lensing effect by current theory is mass, see Relativity, gravity is suppose to bend light. This implies the mass is moving not light. Is this not an echo?
