  • I like how they always say 'change'/'changes'.

  • Love this man. Science is the only way forward, but it seems superstition will never go away.

  • "Psychic Mediums" are scum.

  • astrology works in the same way consumerism work: by encouraging self-indulgence.

  • 3:21 i can't wait for the richard dawkins relaxation tape!

  • I love that fast talking rodent "psychyc". He should get tossed into a cell and fined for everyone he scammed.

  • Neil Spencer... what a scamster. Any idiot who follows him deserves to have their money taken.

  • if people buy into Astrology there is no point even having a human discussion with them...they are as stupid as your pet dog.

  • @funcpl2741054

Now, there's no need to offend our intelligent canine friends. Despite the innate sense of reason human beings are disposed to - the intellectual component that distinguishes us from animals - seldom do I see it being used to its full potential. A dog may chew on its own arse, but people believe in Astrology.

  • Dawkins and Derren Brown in the same video? That's win win.

  • 464 people don't like reality. I can't blame them, sometimes I don't like it much either. :D

  • I do feel.....That little camp mug of a psychic was talking shit!

  • Dawkins is a hero. Keep up the fight!

  • I agree with Dawkins of every point. But I would offer that alot of this claptrap is just "fun". Some kind of interior joking we do with ourselves. While I would NEVER make any sort of judgement of my life..I do have fun with them. I probably would ask someone "What is your sign"? just for fun.

  • I generally agree with Dawkins 99% of the time.

I think he is doing and saying important things.

However, there is more to reality than he thinks.

For example, science may explore consciousness, but it never has and never will explain it.

It is a logical fallacy to assume that because it cannot be spoken it cannot be the truth.

And why was one of the founders of rationality, Socrates, an initiate in the Eleusinian Mysteries? Or how could Newton, or Einsein, posit a God however abstract?

  • @JAL19731 He does not make that assumption; he only argues that what cannot be explained ought not to be believed presently. And those examples are totally irrelevant to the extent that this is the first time in human history that religion has not occupied any real role.

  • @JAL19731

-science may explore consciousness, but it never has and never will explain it

Prove how you know it NEVER will

-It is a logical fallacy to assume that because it cannot be spoken it cannot be the truth

It is a fallacy of any kind to think anything is true without evidence

    - And why was one of the founders of rationality, Socrates, an initiate in the Eleusinian Mysteries? Or how could Newton, or Einsein, posit a God however abstract?

Irrelevant, this is an argument from authority

  • @Vildasnaga: "It is a fallacy of any kind to think anything is true without evidence."

Therefore it is a fallacy to assume that anyone who harbors any belief in God is simply mad.

The argument from authority is not automatically a logical fallacy.

Socrates, Aquinas, Bacon, Copernicus, Gallileo Rousseau, Kant, Newton, Einstein: These are all foundational figures in the definition of Western rationality and scientific method that Dawkins takes for granted. They all believed in God.

  • @JAL19731

"Therefore it is a fallacy to assume that anyone who harbors any belief in God is simply mad"

When has this been asserted? if youre alluding to the title of the book then its a poor argument However its worth noting the overwhelming evidence of evolution and yet peoples rejection of it for no reason other than religion hence they at least in this particular: deluded

(names of famous sages)They all believed in God

Nothing is taken fro granted this is still the argument from ignorance

  • @Vildasnaga : Dawkins says as much all the time.

"However its worth noting the overwhelming evidence of evolution and yet peoples rejection of it for no reason other than religion hence they at least in this particular: deluded"

    We are in agreement. :-)

"Nothing is taken fro granted this is still the argument from ignorance."

Only if it is presented as proof that God does, in fact, exist. It is not. It is simply presented as an argument that a belief in God is not, necessarily, deluded.

  • I generally agree with Dawkins 99% of the time.

  • the light from some of the closest stars started its journey at the time of the dinossaurs.

    OOPSIE.

The Galaxy is about 200,000 ly wide - no dinossaur was alive 200,000 years ago.

  • Well, I wonder what Dawkins has to say about zodiac traits!!!......Predictions have always been bullshit

  • Gazing at the cards, this arrangement is called the logial spread.

I see you will be clicking the thumbs up button in the very near future.

  • I remember my philosophy teacher made us watch this one day. I miss High school.

  • i do feel with her

  • People do believe in a lot of nonsense.

  • @133maxiboy magnetic force is caused by and perpendicular to the movement of charged particles. Didn't you fucking pay attention in elementary Physics?

  • @seanpatrickcarter You do realize he's being sarcastic? He's quoting lyrics from a song.

  • His test subjects are so bloody stupid a 5 year old could have done this documentary. Brain dead people are brain dead, move along. If Dawkins calls this science we're on the wrong track.

  • @1famekouby He calls it a simple trial.. this is only a simple test. He will have to do more tests and more complex tests to make it more accurate. ( i think that almost everybody understands that astrology is fake and you dont need tests to proof it)

  • @1famekouby You didn't say anything, except an insult, then a circular statement, then a dictatic command (which had no reason), and then another general insult. You sound religious yourself, or at least like everyone who has been religious or fascistic. Can you extrapolate upon what you refused to say at first?

  • @Thephyguy Oh sorry, maybe I didn't imply strongly enough that this kind of documentary is a waste of time, space and brain activity. I don't really see the point of a well constructed remark if the information we are supposed to review and/or comment on is so deprived of utility. This is bashing of stupid and/or ill people, there is no point to this. There is more scientific knowledge and investigation in an episode of South Park.

  • @1famekouby Confronting charlatans will always be important, and it is a never ending process. What you take as a priori is rarely posteriori for others even after evidence is shown. It's about unreason and illogical mechanisms underpinning human behavior, and taking up oh so much of that time, space and brain activity which you are concerned for, right? It's much more psychological and personal type of empiricism, so I understand your disgust if you are already learned enough to know them wrong.

  • It is really impressive that dawkins is able to stay so calm and rational during his conversation with the reader. I think i would punch a hole through his fraudulent face.

  • Adolph Hitler consulted astrologers. Back in the 1980s when Ronald Reagan was president, Nancy Reagan consulted astrologers. Kind of gives me the creeps just thinking of it. Most of the members of our Republican party are right-wing Christard Funny-mentalist morons, and they want to control everything from health care to public education. America is in deep shit!

  • it is a shame a show like this even has to be made. it's like grown adults watching sesame street and still not understanding how to count

  • @finalcalI07 Attention: this person is an impersonator (fina(i)call07 of the real channel finalcall07...This person wants to tarnish a persons image on youtube with evil comments like he above one.....Dont listen to him....Yes hell is real and yes sinners go there everyday but Jesus came to save sinners from hell that if they would repent and turn to him they would be saved!!!! Praise God

  • Astrology is such a load of crap. yet they have that stuff everywhere

  • mr. dawkins your my hero mate thank you.

  • I don't know whether to find it hilarious, or sad that there's an ad for "quantum leaping" on this video

  • @gostchiken It is funny about how a company will brag about an improvement in their product measuring up to the least known possible distance in the universe.

  • Love the card reader, such an ass. LOL hilarious!

  • lol the tarot guy at 5:00 is hilarous

  • Havent you noticed how defensive or even agressive these alternative chakrah astrology-dumbasses get when asking for some evidence?

Fuck them, i say make em look like the superstitious fools they are

  • Lol, that northern faggot.

  • Fucking magnets, how do they work?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @133maxiboy im not physicist but one pole of the magnet is positively charged and the other pole is negatively charge the earth is one big magnet thus the north pole and south pole

  • @dickshine

Lol cheers, but its just a joke from a shitty song that became famous for that shitty line.

  • @133maxiboy HAHAHZHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @133maxiboy

    Magic!

  • @133maxiboy Jesus wants magnets to work, so they do.

  • mischief managed

  • The reason people say Dawkins is arrogant and vulgar is because he actually dares to stand forth and identify something that is provably idiotic as nonsense. The problem lies in the fact that there are so many people believing in that bullshit that come out as offended victims. It's ridiculous, he's actually seems like a very polite person. The truly aggressive - and the arrogant ones as well, more often than not - are the ones pushing their religion down others' throats.

  • The koala and I sat down for a nice lunch.

  • My God this is just like the psycics claiming they cant turn a page in a book if we put something in front of it making them un able to blow on the book. If people indeed have powers, or astrology is true, it shouldnt be able to fail because we WANT it to fail.

  • So..there is no ENEMY of REASON..there is simply -OTHER kind of reasoning according to what side of your brain is mostly active. The title in itself is very misleading and demeaning to one type of personality. Rather like being a racist.

  • what it is is a question of left brain functioning people vs right brain functioning people. Both are needed. to the left brain people, right brain people seem illogical and irrational for trusting other senses other then raw cold logic, and to right brain people the other seems cold and cynical. Still, to make a functioning world, both are needed. Without the right brain there is no art, no films, no music, no culture. And without the left brain there is no medicine, no architects, a.s.o

  • That stupid lady at 2:04 talking about mercury energy and bad vibes.

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GOING ON ABOUT!?!?

  • Arbitrary conclusions.I liked until in a paranormal way it jumped from newspaper horoscope to paranormal phenomena and supernatural..like all phenomena are bound to be normal and all nature is bound to be observed and explained by human direct mundane perception and the science it creates and man is the center of everything.Fools.......

  • I agree w/ some of the points Dawkins made in The Root of All Evil, about how certain attitudes handed down by organized religion have negatively impacted mankind. But in this special, these are just silly people amusing themselves. He seems like a crotchety old Scrooge, intent on convincing kids there's no Easter Bunny.

  • @MckyMseNTarotCrds No wonder you don't like this special, take a look at your user name "Tarot Cards" LOL

  • @hemmedup4bud haha. Yeah, we should always take sn's literally. I guess you are....well, you probably are always up for some bud, actually, haha. My sn's a line from a song. I have zero belief in the tarot cards (though I wouldn't go ahead and just blanket-statement that I believe in no psychic phenomenon whatsoever, must of the stories I hear aren't impressive.) So, no I do not believe in tarot cards,it's just a line from an awesome song.

  • @MckyMseNTarotCrds But do you believe in Mickey Mouse?

  • It's not that I don't agree with Dawkins. But he hasn't really produced any work that i would say is original to him. He has presented it in a more "out there" sort of way. There are a lot of philosophers who say scientific truth actually has some element of belief. The fear, i think of the general population, of taking scientific truth as absolute truth is that we can't say where scientific observations and reason will lead us. A mixture of religion and science always seems more comforting.

  • @SuperNerd707 ..comforting to the general public that is* And to clarify, I meant that we don't know what we will find as we conduct experiments and such. With religion it's easy. We can bend it and create it ourselves, for good or bad, thus we know where it will lead us. So maybe it's good to see science as an absolute truth; something that's not bendable that can fit certain dogma when humans find it necessary. The truth is scary is all I have to say. Scary but maybe we should pursue it

  • @SuperNerd707 i should also say, his work in this video isn't completely new. lol

  • @SuperNerd707

Then you misunderstand his position. He repeatedly states that science is the persistant review of evidence by peers. When a new scientific idea is presented, it too has to be tested by other scientists to see if it contradicts other theories and if so, why? So much of science is retesting other people's work and finding answers to gaps in knowledge. He simply chooses not believe in things where there is no evidence.

  • I never get tired of seeing the looks on the people's faces when Dawkin's exposes them as frauds -knowingly or otherwise. They all have that same look of "Oh shit, I've just been caught, get that camera out of here!" just like all those sick pedophiles on "To Catch A Predator."

  • "you did say he was a family member"

    "Did I say that? Alright..."

    hahaha

  • The fact that humans can believe something as ridicules as religion alone is proof were just stupid animals. Humanity will probably kill itself off dozens of times. It’s all part of evolution. Were still evolving and have a long way to go. I know what happens when we die. Its just like before we were born. . But at least I’m not spending my life sucking ass to a god that isn’t there.I cant understand how people can be so blind/brainwashed and ignore the facts. really sad.

  • @1rought

I completely agree with you. It makes perfect sense that what happens after death is similar to before birth. It's pretty sad how some people are so blind and believe and things like hell and paradise.

  • @1rought I completely agree with you. It makes perfect sense that what happens after death is similar to before birth. It's pretty sad how some people are so blind and believe and things like hell and paradise.

  • Lol, Dawkins and other non believers dont know how wrong they are

  • @thelotrfan100 um... dude. they are very right. Or do you think Santa is real?

  • I think you are taking this too seriously, but that eans you are probably a capricorn who are often serious and boring, like you...

  • lol as beads of sweat start to drop from the astrologists forhead

  • LOL this is great! Dawkins pwns that 'psychic'

  • extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence ... thats Sagans line ....

  • My mother believes in astrology and always gets on my nerves with that bs.

  • Someone whose name begins with G who is related to you.

    All my cuzzies are gees.

  • religion is shit!

  • Derren Brown is God (no offence Derren Brown..)

  • religion and poisonous media are the enemies of reason

  • richard dawkins is my jesus hahah

  • Dawkins has such a boner for science

  • @kingrichad as you should. it's the reason polio is gone.

  • @kingrichad better a boner for science than a booty call from superstition.

  • @kingrichad i have such a boner for Dawkins

  • @kingrichad EVERYONE should have a boner for science. I have one right now. Rock hard.

  • @fuduzan5562 we talking igneous or sedimentary?

  • @fuduzan5562 yes mine is evolving right now!!!!!!

  • Respond to this video... yes mine is evolving right now

  • @fuduzan5562

    You should be a geologist.

  • @kingrichad is that bad?

  • Totally agree with Dawkins on these fraudulent psychics, but what about NDEs? When someone has left their body and can come back and describe what they saw from above the room?

  • @KelleyMcGuireCurrie There is a female doctor in California who tests this. She placed an electronic billboard sign on the top of the cabinets in the OR, facing up, with a message. (I wish I could remember her name, but I am sure her study has been repeated by others). Anyway, of the people who had near death experiences and claimed out-of-body experiences, none ever mentioned the sign. :\

  • @KelleyMcGuireCurrie There are ways to induce or imitate what ppl have said to have seen in a NDE, with: lack of oxygen in the brain, certain chaemicals, electric shocks, putting someone on a centriguge. Neuroscientists know that the brain can act awkwardly in extreme circumstances. NDE's are pretty much debunked as a proof of the supernatural.

  • I would like to see the experiment design and results. Espeacialy how they randomly select subjects

  • The POWER of "Auto-suggession" is indeed a VERY powerful tool that can be used for good and evil motives. But,just like you I believe that there is God and YOU are answerable for your own action. You are given choice between good and evil.We have more power than we thought we had.Don't let some Biologist to apply "auto-suggession" to you !!Your brain is more powerful than any computer.God is fair to everybody and HE does not allow some "Biologists" to dictate on how we should think !!

  • So,Yes 99.9 % of the spiritual healers are liars based on what Ive just said, but can you blame them? the main goal is to cure, and if you can cure by lieing to your patient because you want that "Endrophine"to be release, why not!!! If the falsehood is being made known, the patient will not be cured. The mind works wonder! If a man come to you and say,"you look sick"and you believe him,I bet my last dollar that you WILL be sick.Thats the reason i will "FUCK those" who utter such NEGATIVE words!!

  • @111256able try 100%

  • @D4K0T4375 Heeeeehehehh I believe that there are those who really have that "X" factor and really gifted with the ability curing others spiritually !! Prophets and sages and really holy individuals not "pseudo" preachers ,are those gifted individuals. Its like those magicians who recognized truth when they confronted Moses. Those magicians who dependent on illusion accepted the religion of Moses when they realized that Moses performance was not magic or illusion but reality.

  • @D4K0T4375 One of these Sages said,"O people!Abstain from learning and learning and believing in astrology,Accept only those facts(of Astronomy)which will guide you in land and sea, because astrology will lead you towards magic, witchcraft and charlatanry An astrologer is like a magician(who practice in black magic) and such a magician is an infidel and all infidels shall go to Hell. You should commence your journey in the name of Allah.

  • @111256able you are fucking insane if you think someone can magically heal you

  • @D4K0T4375 hey hey don t put words into my mouth! Who say magic can cure you?I hate Magic !!!

  • This is a very powerful knowledge and if abused, can also be fatal to people. Its all about faith and the ability make the other party believes in the "falsehood"to be a reality. Most spiritual healers relies on this!! if you can Chant mambo jumbo to an average hockey player ad covinced him that he is NOW the greatest hockey player,he mericulously will performs like a champion. This is used in some training courses such as sales and motivational courses. Some call it salesmanship,I call it faith!

  • A doctor who does not have a particular pill, lied to his patient by giving him a placebo(false pill that has no medicial content.)The patient swallowed the pill thinking its the real thing .He got cured from his stomach ache! Why ?Faith !!! How you explain that scientifically?A gland near his brain releases Endrophine,a natural opiate numbs all pain i his stomach. It is that hormone that ease his pain not the pill!!! Without "faith" that the pill is real, the endrophine will not be released.!!

  • A man who does not believe in God,believes in nothing! More often than not they mistaken "pseudo-sciences" with reality (science)They love mixing truth with falsehood ,a potent weapon to misguide people. They generalize everything they do not understand and attack mistakes of others, not in the pursuit of truth but for their own self-gratification to boost their egoistic goal. They are generally rude and immoral and their insecurity is obvious in their constant display of arrogance while talking .

  • @111256able I believe in God but nevertheless and do drugs, but I believe that you smoke good weed to " see " the devil in the eyes of this man. Show me proof of what you stated besides the bible or the Qu'ran

  • @brazeau2009 hear these words!!

  • Richard Dawkins: a certified nut.

  • @TAXtheAtheist why's that?

  • @brazeau2009 Good question. Richard Dawkins is a well respected member of the scientific community because of his findings and conclusions. However, what people do not understand about Dawkins is that he uses his own speculatative science blended with hard facts, smooths it over with his own theories, and calls it Proof. He'll find Proof that the Bible is wrong, later quietly refuted. This has occured several times. It seems the only constant is- The Bible.

  • This fool only considers it mischief because he knows that his reputation is going to be wrecked. How can he not believe in experimental testing? What a fool.

  • I think south park made fun of that guy

  • /facepalm

I pity Dawkins. The poor man has to deal with morons on a daily basis.

  • We need not join the mad rush to purchase an earthly fallout shelter. God is our

eternal fallout shelter. ~Martin Luther King, Jr., Strength to Love, 1963

  • Wow did it get insane in here or what?

  • Yes through the Mainstream Medias and book publishing companies they own, they brainwashed Americans and the world's citizens to accept their ways. They thus control the mindset of the world!! Through CRR ,Bilderberg group.Trilateral commissions ,United Nation WHO,FED,WORLD BANK,IMF,these bastards stop at nothing!!Their Godfather is Mr Evelyn Rothschild in th "City of London" and all is big boys like Rockerfellrs ,Morgans,Schiff, Warburg,Onasis,Kennerdys<Lehman,Solomon,Sassons !!WAKE UP!!

  • These "Pseudo scientists" create the "AIDS- viruses" and under the pretext of controling Polio ,Malaria and othe diseases, they put it in viles labelled as vaccinations viles and injected them to the Africans!!!Thats the reason millions of Africans contacted HIV .They are really evil people!!They are the one responsible for SEPT 11,a covet operation ,an excuse to occupy Iraq and Afganistan. Now they are planning to make Christians kill or be killed by Muslims by drumming for war against IRAN!!

  • Frederich Engels,Karls mark,Einstein,Darwin were intellectuals that came from this school of thought.Ever wonder that Karl Marx's Das Kapital and Adam Smith's"Wealth of Nations" were financed by this school of thought!!.Ever wonder why the schhiff bankers financed the "Bolservick" revolution. Those revolutionists were Atheistic JEWS!! and the send christians(Russians to Siberia) to work in labour camps!!Millions of Russians Christians Perished. You dare to say that not evil??!

  • Since the formation of he "illuminatti" in 1May 1776,under the first President Adam Weishaupt, there are many intellectuuals had sold ther souls to forward the idea of "New world Order"backed up by International Bankers like the Rothschilds ,the Schiff,Warburg,Morgams,Solomon,Rockerfellars and others.Disguised as Christians,Judaists and Muslims they hope to break all religious beliefs. They control Banking ,finance, mainstream medias,Drug businesses.weaponery industrial complex and others

  • He has sold his soul to the devils.Disguised as a scientist,he is in actuality working for secret society and Satanic groups who are now busy in demonizing all religions including ISLAM Their goal is the NEW WORLD ORDER where secularism is the religion. And behind the false front of Secularism is Satanism,They are heavily financed bythe Zionists international bankers.Ever notice he rediculing Judaism? No because he was told not to confuse the supporters of Israel. heheheheh they brainwash others!

  • He believes in little "greenman"(Lucifer) eventhough he never openly say so and deguised it as(alien) from outer space. What not ask him whether he is a member of FReemason" His education in Oxford ,his exposure to masonic lodges and Darwin's theory of evolution ,made him a "preacher" of the Luciferian school. He enjoy the "Bohemian like gathering where pledges of obedience to Lucifer were made bi-annually.He is an agent of the Devil!! Just look at his EYES ,it!!He IS the "Harry potter" !!!

  • @111256able woooooo!! I want the same pot that you smoke! lol

  • @brazeau2009 Sorry dude!we are not in the "pot "culture. You and your make-believe world of yours is in another dimension.... far below us ! heheheheheehh.Ask Dawkin to join you in your pot" party! Heheheheh

  • Right, okay then...

  • LOL

  • Science has the same purpose as religion, but it is superior in thought and in rationality.

  • I had a friend who worked as a 'telephone psychic' back in the heyday of the late 90's. It was a lot of pointless chitchat for big bucks.

  • It occurs to me that the spread of religion can be likened to the new age propagation of chain emails. "Pass this on to 20 friends or receive bad luck" is again exemplar of man's tendency to feel the need for the existence of a supernatural. And although these may be harmless communications (that like religion may be associated with financial gain) they may be likened to the onset of mainstream religion. Indeed I consider them essentially as malicious memes as proposed by Richard Dawkins

  • My "ex" believes in this shit and psychics. Needless to say, Im glad weve split!

  • @yourass117 My story exactly lol.

  • @rooflee That what does not kills us, makes us stronger :) Happy trails man...

  • @yourass117

that wasn't needles to say at all... You absolutely Needed so say it because none of us know what you in fact believe in

  • @EVETS11 ummm....okay?....thank you?

  • @yourass117 you took the words right out of my mouth!

  • @yourass117 you rock

  • @yourass117 Some of the absolutely nicest people I've ever met believe in one or more kinds of mumbo-jumbo. I try not to judge them too harshly but I do my best to inject some rationality into their thought processes

and prevent them from being bilked.

  • @bannor99 I agree. Often very sincere and beautiful people are quick to fall for what makes them happy, rather than what makes them think.

For me personally, most of my attempts at swaying those kinds of "spiritualist" type people have been in vain.

  • @yourass117 You could have just tried to change her way of thinking and help her build up her defence, when the truth reveals, she will end up helpless... =/

  • @yourass117

That's funny as I was sitting here just then thinking: "God I used to bloody hate trying to eat breakfast & read the paper whilst my ditsy ex-girlfriend was trying to relate the daily horoscopes to how everyone was feeling, and sadder yet, she genuinely believed it was some sort of breakthrough."

  • @yourass117 me too! creepy too, because it was around 7 months ago, and you commented 6 months ago... :-P

  • His intention is definitely mischieve ,He is trying hide very best to make people believe that he is a smart by being sarcastic...... He is a real BASTARD!!

  • @111256able

He is smart, and he wants people to realize that they are living a lie and realizes that humanity would be better off if we eradicated the superstitions, like astrology and religion, that so many of us still believe in

  • @LopatoBeats He is the devil himself. And nobody deny the fact that the devil was given all kind of knowledges by God .It is arrogance that had made him out of FAVOUR. Only the Prophets or the genuine followers of those Prophets can overcome the knowledges of Setan or devil.that are full of deceit ,deceptions and lies!!Here,Dawkin portrayed himself as not to believe in psychic capabilities which to him is nothing but nonsense and hocus pocus of some spagetti Monsters!the reality :He BELIEVES!!

  • @LopatoBeats one of the smartest comments i've read on here..why cant everybody think like this. seriously.

  • I( think some HOLYMAN screwed his ass when he was young and he feels that its payback time!! hehehehh

  • Dawkins is a great mind, but a bit of a dork, I mean really.

  • I love Dawkins, if i was 30 years older and a woman i would ask him to marry me... ;)

  • @Iammrspickley I am a woman and if he was 30 years younger I would ride him hard. Cant help it I have a totally brain hard on for this guy!

  • @JoMariebentzler I knew i was not alone in this ;)

  • @Iammrspickley Never!

  • Dude whit the cards... owned

  • the guy with the cards is so funny, i'm gonna be as vague as possible and relate it to everyone and say it's fortune telling.

  • Dawkins is a genius!

  • Just got to the part when Dawkins cited "other experiments." Fair enough, but a footnote on some named experiments would also be nice.

  • The horoscope test may very well have been accurate, but it does not look like Dawkins used a "random" sample, as he claims. Picking people off the street is convenience sampling, and it is notoriously inaccurate, especially in small sample sizes. Furthermore, as no one reported here said they don't believe in the horoscopes (75% of the British population) then I must conclude that purposive sampling was actually used. That is very far from being random. Hardly scientific.

  • @college12003 - and where did you take this definition of random sampling from? You have no idea what you are talking about. Picking people from anywhere is at your convenience. Using your definition of 'random' would mean taking people from every single age from almost every country. There is no science involved in any type of sampling my dear.
