Not that long, about an hour probably. The fire underneath did a lot. I tried to do one pour with just a propane weed burner, It worked but I went through a lot of propane. If you are doing yours all in one pour make sure your melting pot is well supported. I friend of mine did a big pour from a cast iron bathtub and it wasn't evenly supported and it cracked. There were pools of lead all over his driveway.
what kind of safety do you use to avoid breathing those gases when working with lead?

I have an old monitor and I am trying to find lead for casting bullets. Where inside the monitor would I find the lead? How much would be in one?

Actually it is 1200 pounds and I got it originally from tire weights. This is my second keel for this boat and I melted the old one to get this lead.
