  • what that thing was? you tell me, you were there....

  • well the thing u touched looked like a jellyfish but havnt a clue wat could of hit u

  • Novel about two boys who find something strange on the beach one night see video book trailer

  • there are a few problems with the seaweed theroys, 1 if there is no water currently in the cave, how could the seaweed have moved, its a plant with no other force to move it, and for people who say it was wind, its a cave dummys! And seaweed problem number 2, it streches back and then goes forewards as if to stab him, if you get some seaweed and swing it back just like that and then try to make it stab at something, it doesnt work, and number 3, when it attacks, part of it stays straight, belive

  • It's called Fakeneus nonsensicus. I believe it's in the bullshitidae family, order fauxtera.

  • @Ruach18 actully the order is balonia chubbutis

  • @bobo007xx You mean scientific name. An order is only one word.

  • its just seaweed!

  • You idiot. you're friend just whipped you with sea weed.

  • You disrupted the video by fading out the end too quickly and by overlapping it with

the " ....what the hell was that ?? " heading. Since last year, have you

ever reposted a new ,extended version of your encounter ?

  • That was the end of the video, I just bolted out of that section of the cave, with the video camera off .. It scared the crap out of me .. and NO it wasn't any friend etc etc .. this was an alcove where there was just cave wall either side of me (no room for anyone else)

  • u dont think it could be killer sargasso seaweed from the movie lost continent?

  • @paulejohnson1

your such a girl it was just the wind

  • I don't believe that the object that struck you was the camera strap.

It's a possibility that the object that struck you was a totally separate animal

and was not necessarily a part of the big stringy thing you video'd.

  • About a year ago I posted that

someone from the Monterey Bay Aquarium ( California )

took a look at this video. She said that the video was too dark to properly identify things but....the big white stringy thing appeared to be a variant form of kelp. She didn't mention anything about the thing hitting him.

  • mr bubble, ur funny!.,....dude should have taken one 4 the team and sucked it up and photoed 4 science sake!... u dumbass!

  • It actually kinda looks like a freakishly large Terebellidae, or Spaghetti Worm. They are known for spreading their tentacles out for food, but they never reach that size. If this is the case that is one fucking large Spaghetti Worm you had an encounter with.

  • did it follow u while running outside?

  • Haha, no it didnt but seriously I was in total shock when it happened - I thought it was just seaweed and to have it whack me like that I mean What is with that ???

  • You pussy there nothing there

  • MY seaweed! Go AWAY!

  • It was the lair of that One Eyed Octopus thing from the 60s version of "The Lost Continent!

  • it lookslike a squid tentacle

  • lol that was the funniest video ive ever seen! "uh wut is that?.....Eahhhh!" l

    o

    l

  • Ive been to the cathedral caves heaps of times as I lived in Otago around the catlins area and it looks to me like plain bull kelp seaweed that grows on all the rocks there and you either had a friend behind you that hit you with some of it, or you just faked it yourself.

  • dude u sound like a pussy and that scream sounded so fake kinda like u were getting raped but nice how it bitch slapped u

  • could've a plant?

but the hitting thing was weird as, you have balls to touch it mate.

  • it could have bin a freaky animal or a good prank ;)

  • FUCK!!!!

  • IT could be some sort of plant that was banished a long time ago. Because fish cant live on the land.

  • Why is it every time a person catches something mysterious on tape we only see a blur of it. And hay if you would of stay there a little longer maybe the thing would of tentacle raped you hahaha

  • I've taken the liberty of researching deeply into your video and to your relief i can confirm that it is a SONY camera. your sincerely, SAED

  • Did you go back to the cave the next day to see if it was still there?

  • What did it feel like when you touched it?

  • Like a Jelly Fish type of texture - slimey yet definately "organic"...

  • it was the kracken she was aaaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!! watch out for the kracken argh

  • how could it be a SEA monster if it was in a cave?

and that was sooo fucking fake lol.

  • Thanks for your comment, It is a TIDAL cave, meaning in normal/high tides the caves are under water. I wish it was fake, then I wouldn't yelp like a girl for everyone to see on YouTube :(

  • as you should know there plants that can respond to touch but there still lots of undiscovered animals on this earth to include worm springs is thought to have been a giant coral reaf worm just as lake lock lousa in know to me to be this lake is in hawthorn florida just out side gainsville 20miles east the signs around the lake say no digging any time for any reason why it makes hawthorn shake

  • @gratedrake1 can you fucking repeat that in english, please, tard?

  • a giant jellyfish, thats why there are so many tentacles and you probably rubbed a barb on it

  • i ain't not sea bioligest but i think it was a octopus but just might be something should have showd the head insted of the tenticle like stems. i just started useing freeze frame on the vid (pressing play and pause to c what it is) that is not like anything i have seen before that is really odd. it does look like a tenticle but the angle it came at idk

  • if you fell for this video you are an idiot that was a type of plant and this guy just wants attention

  • i think it a long worms or something white living the cave for so long ?

  • may b it was your tape worm from yo ass.

  • I don't own a Donkey. But if you are referring to my ARSE, then you have made a spelling error :)

  • wow, not funny at all >:|

  • To me it looks like a particularly long and loopy pile of seaweed.

  • You defiled the cave of the holy spaghetti monster! As a revenge, the polar ice caps are melting and the sea levels are rising worldwide now. Thanks for bringing the entire world in BIG TROUBLE!

  • Kill it and sell it on Ebay.

  • that was not even scary but it did get me interseted in marine life

  • my jesus!! i mean i whould be like run niga runnnn!!!!!! fuck ... what is that siertinly no fuckin squid (worldofwarxraft10 ya dumb fuck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..... didnt mean ta yell

  • that was the lochness monster jack ass

or catfish, naaaahhh it was a bluegill fo sho

  • you made it out alive, so whatever.

  • Thats quite funny butz still I would like to know what that was lol .. it could be fake too but wo believes in monsters in dark caves... I guess bush wont lol

  • It was obviously nothing major if you lived through it.

  • it was a fucking squid u dumb shit!

  • AND BUMB INTO WALLS....

  • omfg its the cloverfield monster aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • hahaha! I love that movie!

  • plant? show me THE plant(Video Response)

Sea Monster? show me the Monster.

i dont beleve ether with this vid

  • Your english needs work, son.

  • Wow alot of people write this one off so quickly, its obvious the appendage strikes at him and to think its a plant is kinda retarded since there is no movement from the other kelp to claim a current, i would hazard a guess to claim an eel or sumthin. too bad the footage is cut, his friend probley whaked him in the face with it to scare the shit out of him lol...i would have.

  • Who would film this, go ahead and edit it so that it seems like some kind of documentary, then put it on youtube?

I'm a marine biologist. (Yeah...sure I am.) And I believe that thing was in fact....

    A JACKALOPE.

  • clearly u molested a plant or squid

  • sorta looked like he pulled it and he screamed like a girl ^^

  • Some one from the Monterey Bay Aquarium finally

took a look at this video. She said that the video was too dark to properly identify things but....the big white stringy thing appeared to just be a big thing of kelp. She didn't mention anything about the thing hitting him.

  • Ahhh run its a crackhead!!!

  • a whale!!!!!!!!

  • some kind of plant.....anyone can do that....setting a videocam to night vision mode can easily trick you of seeing "WEIRD" creatures.....

  • its a doggy

  • i thing its some kind of plant

  • Great Vid very interesting and educational =)

  • The employee at the Aquarium also mentioned

that some sea enenimies have projectiles

that shoot out due to a reflex action when messed with.,.even if found on dry land.

  • I couldn't figure out how to download

this video to my laptop so I couldn't show the

people at the Aquarium the actual video.

I'll call the Aquarium again and double check the name of that thing. I'll also ask them to go on Youtube themselves and take a look at this vid.

  • Hi guys. I took a trip to Monterey this past weekend

and saw a smaller version of that big white

stringy thing but it was in water. An employee at the Monterey Bay aquarium said that it was

a variant form of sea enenimy that can grow

extremely large. She also mentioned that it

is a filter feeder and NOT carnivorous

    like many other Sea Enenimies.

Spaghetti Worm is what she called it but

I googled Spaghetti Worm and found a similar but different amimal. I think she got the name

    wrong.

  • I'm pretty sure the weather will be

nice enough to go to Monterey tomarrow.

I'm go'n to show this video to someone who really knows their stuff at the

    Monterey Bay Aquarium.

I'll post what I find out.

  • maybe it was a giant rat uhuh

  • it was a female alien that was stranded there eons ago long long long ago, and it thought you were trying to molest it, you know.......touch..it.......and it slapped you.........next time do not go around..prodding such creatures. Leave it alone. let it live its life in peace....you live your life in peace..

  • Was it a sting, or just a slap?

    Was there anyone with you?

If you're truly concerned about getting your question answered then why don't you respond to some of the sincere posts? Did you loose interest?

Parts of this make me think it was created deliberatly.

  • lol japenese sea spider

  • I might go to Monterey Bay Aquarium this Weekend

or next. I'm going to try to have someone there

look at this video. Hopefully they can clear this up. I believe something did strike him

BUT I don't think it was part of the cluster

of kelp he was looking at.

  • Marine Biologist? Un soldado biólogo? xD

  • That was no trip to some cave in new zealand...that was his bachlor pad. (you know how guys live)

That thing was in his room, probably spawned from a half eaten sandwich under the bed. !!ITS ALIVE ITSSS ALLIIIIIIIVE.!!

heh heh it smacked his hand

  • I'm bet you are american!!!small mind...go and get some books about caves in new zealand...

  • wth? i dont c any water there, a sea monster? wtf? is there's was anything at least some "earth monster" lol...stupid

  • I can make a film just like that by turning of the light in my room in five minuts........

    .....Hwat the hell man?

  • Shit, it scared me hahahha, almost shit myself

  • I live in NZ. It's a seaweed that has become dislodged. I didn't know there were caves in the Caitlands anyways. Oh'well I must be wrong.

  • lol

What a great sea monster attack

  • Lmao! Am I the only one who finds this hilarious?? Not saying it's real or fake but at 1:11 to 1:15 I laugh every time haha...

    All Quiet

    *Smack*

    *UGH*

    Que music hahahaha

  • You have a point

    lmao

    denial

  • Lmao! Am I the only one who finds this hilarious?? Not saying it's real or fake but at 1:11 to 1:15 I laugh every time haha...

    All Quiet

    *Smack*

    *UGH*

    Que music hahahaha

  • Now that you mention it ...Yeah. It was kinda funny. I was concentrating more on the the movement of the thing that hit him. He faded the video out too soon.

    Growl later,

    Megafant

  • i bieleve it was not a sea monster but a ghost that setup the atack to LOOK LIKE a sea monster

  • It looks like there was more to the video but

you faded it out too soon at the end.

Are you able to repost a new version with

a clearer ending? If you're truly concerned about getting your question answered then why don't you respond to some of the sincere posts? Did you loose interest?

    megafant.

  • Maybe the thing that struck you was not

actually a part of that cluster of

"Kelp stuff" you were looking at.

The thing that hit you looked like it recoiled

    just before it struck you.

    Were you stung?

How hard did it hit you?

Was there anyone else in the cave with you?

did you get an answer from a reparable

    scientist?

  • well for one that one that hit him had to be done by something. It is hard to think it is fake because you see the thing bend and then hit with soem force so eally I dont know what it is but I can say I would have pissed my pants even if it was fake as you ar ein drak and looks like alone.

  • What sting? It was probably a root of some sort or sea weed and it a piece just happened to swing out. C'est rien.

  • dude they have ten tentacles

  • wow..a squid..how horrible..\LOL

  • Umm to all the people that said it was a giant squid... you're freaking idiots... first off it has NO SUCKERS only smooth THIN rope like tentacles and also way to many to be a squid, squid have 8 arms and only TWO long tentacles with FLATTENED PADDLE LIKE ENDS which they dart out to capture prey with, all which are equiped with large suckers ringed with sharp hooks or 'teeth'. lol at the ones that claim to know about marine biology but dont even know THAT MUCH.

  • what the HELL was that it loked like a snake or something when you find out post what it was on u tube cause im sure lots of people want to no what it was other wise it was very good!!lol did that hurt?!

    thanks,midnight bloom

  • well i dont know what it was but what ever it was i want to ok but other wise that vido was good !!

  • He said it was low tide, not in the water.

you can only walk into the cave during low tide.

  • dude this is not in the water.

  • It was probably a numera or the giant type of jellyfish, that probably explains the tentacles and the sting

  • It looks like washed up seaweed man.

  • maybe it was a dying squid that got trapped when the water level fell down...or maybe it was already dead, but you somehow "activated" a nerve and it moved...

or you were attacked by a monster *O*!

next time why dont u use a gun, get some company, kill it and and bring it out *¬*!!

  • it looks more along the lines of a huge jelly fish as squid dont have that much tenticals The world's largest jellyfish (lion's mane) supposedly maxes out at 8 feet across the bell, or slightly wider than the length of the diver including his fins. This looks substantially larger than that. I accuse Herr Photoshop, in the study, with the mouse

  • squid cant have that much tenticals

The world's largest jellyfish (lion's mane) supposedly maxes out at 8 feet across the bell, or slightly wider than the length of the diver including his fins.

  • Hey Paulejohnson.....

have you already conected with a marine biologist to try to figure this out?

If so...what was his or her answer?

    or.......

    Is this another "Cloverfield mystery?

    take it easy.

    Megafant

  • I still think the thing hitting him looks very alive although not necessarily a part of that kelp he was looking at. Squids, jellyfish,

etc. are strong underwater but..their body structures usually collapse under it's own weight out of the water. The thing striking him appeared to have a different look then a squid tentacle.I could be wrong.

  • No, not in the water. He claims that it was low tide. you can only access the cave on foot during low tide. BUT.... I still can't make out the face that a couple of you guys said are about 50 seconds into the video.

Plus... paulejohnson1 doesn't appear to be

responding often to some of the people's

    questions.

  • Was this guy actually in the water? Even so where is the THING? No scientist can help you i am afraid.

  • Sorry, at 50 sec on the right,it can be seen good only on full screen

  • A couple of you guys said to

pay attention 42 or 49 seconds

into the video cause there is a face.

    I still can't see a face.

  • stop it at 49 secs there is a face at the right upper corner of the screen

  • maybe a very large jelly fish because i've seen giant jelly fish bigger than a man

  • If it was,it probably would have stung him.

  • Hi.What is the status of your research?

Have you been networking with various,

    genuine, scientists to research this.

If so.... what was there answer?

Was there someone in the cave with you

at the time?Is there more footage of the "monster"that you have not posted? If so...perhaps you should post it.

    Megafant.

    ..

  • Everytime I see this video I get the chills...I even had an entire dream about this video...I need to know one thing...was there anyone else with you?

  • diving spaghetti monster?

  • look at 42 secs there a face at the right of the screen

  • Now if that was a low tide cave, it would still be very wet..so your opening statement was flawed.

  • It was still very wet indeed !

  • Have you been invited by any SERIOUS marine biologists, scientists, etc to help them visit the cave again to figure this thing out? Next time..I would load up on a few weapons more lights and a couple extra cameras. Maybe a remote camera on wheels? You kinda screwed it up when you placed your question right over a portion of the last part of the video. Covered up part of your monster.

Keep us posted as to what you find out.

    Megafant

  • Another guess...Perhaps it was an extra large sea anemone?

Because it appeared to have a thick stalk with numerous tentacles

    coming from the top.

    Megafant

  • Hi paulejohnson1. At first your video didn't look like much, until Falkentrooper suggested to fast forward the video to about 1:11 and take another look at the rope thingy hitting you. It did not look like something that was swung at you. It appeared to be a very controlled recoil before and after it struck you.(Like a snake). Maybe you were looking at a big pile of kelp but the thing that swiped at you was a variant form of snake or ell?

    Magafant

  • I'm not a marine biologist but i do have an obsession w/ sea monsters and by the looks of it that could have been a baby giant squid or possibly something of the likes of its own.

  • peniszilla LOL

  • its obviously a peniszilla a rare kind of sea monkey

  • you squeeled like a sissy!!! HAHAHAH!!!

  • it was a rope. someone was obviously behind u and swung it at you. were not idiots.

  • New Zealand has alot of unusual creatures but hey also have alot of rare giant squids and thats coould of been one that got stuck in the cave at low tide

  • truman show?

  • Can i have my 1:43 minutes of my life back?

  • unfortunately no

  • It's obviously an elasmosaurus.

  • l0l0l0l0ll0l0l0l0l0l0l0l0l0 bull crap

  • idk i think that was real because if anyone was whipping him it would go out and then come it like that thing did plus it looked like it was striking like a squids tentacles or a snake and jelly fish cant move they just float in the ocean...they dont even have a brain

  • oh my god! that was SO scary! Never before have i been frightened by surgical tubing in front of a camera with a fake scream! keep up the good work! you find that monster!

  • I know what it is. It is NOTHİNG.

  • No, it was something. More likely it some guy with a toy snake. But that's just me.

  • it is your comment??

  • It could be a giant squid that might have gotten stuck when the waters were much higher or it could be just a big piece of seaweed...

  • Kids, don't be stupid like him and post crappy videos.

  • OMG!You retards!!!!!I did'nt see any damn sea monster!!!All he did was show a freakin belt infront of the camera! He's like all the other people who put shit on youtube!!

  • i...am a marine biologist, and i say that your an incredible dumbass, my son is now gay because of you he explored another mans dark cave and touched things he was never supposed to thank you for ruining my life you wuck

  • I know what it was it was a bad movie

  • It is a product of zygon technology....

  • looked like the roots 2 an old pohutakawa tree that have been washed around in the sea for years!! & you just gave yourself the shits buddy!! but I must admit fuck goin in there!!

  • Tt looks like a Man'o'war to me, which is a sort of jelly fish that floats on top of the water with it's tentecles in the water (tentecles can grow about 100ft give or take)

  • I l tell you what it is is just another asshole posting some shit to youtube.

  • dude me again i looked into it asked a few other marine bioligists and a few crypto zoologist friends we have confirmed wat it is if u r interisted in knowing message me and ill tell u otherwise its cool

  • could be a jellyfish or possably a giant squid which are common around NZ waters, would have got stuck in cave whith tide going back out.

  • you went into a dark cave with a keychain light by yourself...conclusion, your dumb:)

  • Dude you did not bring torch light???

You only record some part the body......

In M'asia got alot of giant like monster i heard. fake or not i don't know.

  • Well, those look like ropes. And i think your girlfrined popped you mate.

  • Yup I was gonna say the same thing as bar wanted to but it Looks weirder to me

  • I think its some Jellyfish, they hurt like hell, even the small ones. That would explain the pain you got from it, and maybe cause it was dying it took longer to shock you.

  • fake or not!

It was a big Jellyfish left in the cave by the sea low tide. In your video it's possible to identify the bell of the dead jellyfish and its tentacles.

  • hello my name is alexander i work in japan as a marine biologist studying currently seaturtles, i would like you to know that there isnt enough evidence at this time to speculate as to what the object hitting you was. more than likely it was of man made matierials. i.e. rope etc.

  • Omg, dude, ive seen that too! When i was a kid, about 7, i explored those caves as well, and i saw it! i still have marks on my arm cause of that damn thing, its a old folk ledgend that the demon lives in that cave!

  • camera strap? I reckon your mate slogged you with a bit of seaweed! anyway you lived to tell the tale...so what was it...?

  • someone whiped him in the face with a rope! Zomg!

  • i think its a monster called a bullshit sea snake.

  • hahaha. YEah. It was his buddies one eyed sea snake

  • first: why didnt you keep recording...

second: if its underwater why did ur camara work beccause i think that if your camara gets wet it brokes down.... and if it wasnt underwater then why did u call him a sea monster (if its a sea monster it would be dead)

  • Hi i am a marine and technology biolist and i thought that is some kind of snake lol just joking i am a kid

  • Hello Im Marine Biologist And That Looks like Half dead sea Monster.. i studyed the loch ness and deep oceans But that Looks weird..
