I prefered Sound when it was like this. It had an exciting atmosphere when it was filmed outside and every week they had cool bands on. Then they fucked it up and started filming in a boring studio the excitement died and then they started bringing on shit like Jonas brothers, Katy Perry.

I don't watch it anymore. But LOTP rock let's be honest.

The guitars that are sampled are mainly "backing" parts, not leads or anything, only noticable if you really watch out for it. I saw a video of The Bears Are Coming up on here where it's really clear what's been sampled.

Absolutely amazing band. Monday was crazy. One of the best gigs... just a shame it was so short!

It's an AKAI MPC1000 sampler. They use two of them live now to trigger various stuff. A lot of guitar work is done live by just hitting the pads which is quite funny.

Late of the Pier narrow the disillusionative borders between synth/electronica and alternative. Tunes like Space and the Woods are floor-fillers and wonderfully written. Late of the Pier can only be compared to one band that I can think of in terms of electronica/alternative skill, that is the Presets. I'm not saying Late of the Pier is like the Presets, but both have addictive tunes worth mentioning. Ciao :)
