  • Good vid! But yeah, you can just spray the crap out of it, not having to tape off that excessively, and the stuff on your white paint will just peel off. The gap between the letters and the tailgate is enough to prevent the letters from peeling off.

  • What if its cold like 43' outside with on garage could I still do it

  • @Jlora06 I would set up a small heater in the area

  • Thank you really helped a lot with the instructions

  • @CoreFinder100 No problem! Thanks for watching

  • I use plastic grocery bags, around the outer edge, to protect from over spray. Just cause I'm cheap and don't want to waste tape.

  • @Floortile83 If i ever run out of tape I know what i can use. Thanks!

  • this was very helpful! thanks!

  • @derekjames9 your welcome! Thanks for watching

  • Thanks for the video, mate. Looks good.

As for all you other motherfuckers commenting on this video...either grow a really nice set of tits or quit your goddamn nagging! This dude said IN the video that you don't have to tape off so much, among other things that you bitchy motherfuckers are nagging about. The dude was gracious enough to post a 'how to' video on this, and said that there were other ways to do it aswell.

So shut the fuck up and thank the man for his time!

  • @Aelad99 Amen! I thought the same. Who gives a fuck how much tape he used. He just wanted to be extra cautious about his vehicle. The thing is, he was nice enough to post it in the first place.

  • @RoC1909 Word!

  • @Aelad99 Thanks for the Kind words!

  • honestly... its a lot easier to take the badge off the car, plastidip it. Then put it back on...

  • @DaBluedude100 No its not

  • great video but you made the taping a lot harder than it had to be

  • U shoulda put some clear cloat on after

  • @tidus9244 They make a clear Plasti Dip. THe hardware store is always out of it when i go.

  • All that taping was very unnecessary the stuff peels off if coated.

  • lol u dont have the patience to take out the emblems but u have the patience to get every little space u have on your emblem lmfao

  • Sweet looks good

  • @blazingcolts Thanks!

  • lolz woot woot for having a toyota 4runner early 90s

  • @Flynn536 I love it

  • didn't need to tape off EVERYWHERE... woulda peeled off just fine.

  • @SubieRexGamer13 The SPLATTER from the over spray does not peal off.

  • @ellectronico I think I understood his statement. You really didn't need to tape off in the small crevices and cracks. THAT would have peeled off just fine. But I understand what you are saying with the over spray outside of the emblem area. Nice job and I bought a can of this stuff yesterday. Once it warms up a little, I'll be doing the same to my emblems.

  • Are you fucking stupid...? Some Alchohol based cleaners will eat the fucking clearcoat off your car... GL When your clearcoat starts peeling.

  • @SwampBoyJ The alcohol in the cleaner i used dries almost instantly. I did this over 5 month ago. No damage has been done to my clear coat.

  • @ellectronico Well, just keep it on the safe side, some alchohol based cleaners will peel your clearcoat

  • wast of time to paint that. should of done the Toyota symbol

  • @quickCar85 the Toyota emblem was already done

  • I did this to my rims and it came out awesome and I have had no complaints or tears after 5 months with it. The only problem I had with the emblem was that some of it from the top would peal off and it looked like shit. Any suggestions?

  • Great video I love this stuff!

  • thanks!!

  • hey ellectronico, how long did you let the final coat dry for?

  • @elkbath i let it dry about 30 mins before i removed the tape.

  • Just remove the badge spray it and put it back on?!?

  • would have been faster to remove with heat gun plastidip and put back on.

  • well... considering it takes about 5 or less minuted to remove those two badges... idk why you wouldnt do that...

  • how well does plasti dip hold up? for example like in carwashes, rain, etc.?

  • That nigger knows how to clean a badge......

  • @itchyundies Good Idea!

  • for fluff go to 0:01 for him actually spraying the emblem go to 5:03

  • u didnt to tape between the letter. it peels off

  • @Dubzeroboys I know it peals off. it is much easier to peal off the tape then to have to remove the splatter left over.

  • @ellectronico gotcha

  • You dont even need to cover that much of your paint. It's real easy to just tape off a square around your emblem. The plasti did will dry and than you can just peel it off. The plati did will only peel off your paint if you do it right. The rest will stay on your emblem.

  • @ozy18708 I know it peals off. it is much easier to peal off the tape then to have to remove the splatter left over.

  • @ellectronico Ha but it takes so long to take every single crevasse.

  • nice vid bro!

  • Too bad you dont need tape with this product. It peels right off if you dont like it!!

  • @Justincredibles2k I know it peals off. it is much easier to peal off the tape then to have to remove the splatter left over.

  • can i use wd40 for cleaning the emblem?

  • @crimsoninred I wouldn't. might leave some oil behind. soap and water works. just make sure its totally dry before you start spraying

  • @ellectronico thanks! im planning to do one on my emblems, i really like the detail you did with placing those tapes around the emblem but i watched this video where he just slowly peeled it and didnt tape the edges carefully like you did, it looks good as well as you did, but i find it easier.

btw one more question what tape did you use? thanks!

  • @crimsoninred yes you can do it without masking it off. i did this in another project and it worked ok. i did it this way and it it alot easier for me. you dont have to worry about pealing it off and taking to much away. I used 3m Painters tape.

  • @ellectronico I know it peals off. it is much easier to peal off the tape then to have to remove the splatter left over.

  • wow 6 bucks a can ! Here in norway it fucking costs 27 us dollars can ! Shit

  • Good video dude. Thanks a lot.

  • Good tutorial but you take WAYYY TOO LONG getting to your point.

  • "You can always take off your emblem if you wanted, uh.... i don't.... have the patience for that" but u have the fuckin patience to cut tiny pieces of tape and put them together like a puzzle

  • @tinwuindin510 i didn't cut any tape. its a simple as tearing off a piece and sticking it. Maybe patience wasn't the right word, i should have said something like "its easier to leave it on and you don't risk damaging it"

ether way im not sure why it matters. if you want to plasti dip your emblem im sure you will find a way that best suites you?

  • @tinwuindin510 someone couldnt afford plastidip

  • @tinwuindin510

^ does not understand the kiss concept

  • i got the same 4runner. im doing this

  • @925goodfella Sweet!

  • im not sure how safe it is to use alcohol based cleaners on paint/clear coat, unless you want it to fade your clear coat and mess up your paint

  • @VesdezarCenarius you may be right. however the stuff i used dries in just a few seconds so im not to worried about it. Thanks for watcing

  • @ellectronico I think your fine, like you said the amount you used shouldn't hurt it, but it does generally take off whatever wax was on there... so what I generally do is wax the area I got the cleaner on after I am done with projects. Sweet vid, now im thinking about doing this to my Jimmy!!

  • "Just put a little bit more around the edge"

Damn! You must be dangerous with that spray can.

    Thumbs up on the vid

  • Great job, you can also use a knife or other tool to just take off the emblem, apply plasti drip, then use double sided 3M tape, just a suggestion.

  • Great job, I like that you used tape.

  • Hey cool video but there is no need to cover up that much paint. I mean like the little center pieces can get sprayed its ok because plasti dip will then PEEL OFF your paint. Its the whole point. I did this to black out my emblems on my 335 i. And it worked great. The dip peels easy off paint but sticks to plastic/chrome.

  • @streethustla34 I find it a lot easier to mask the area first, Yes it does peal right off the paint. however you cant peal the over spray and it is a pain to rub off when its just a sprinkling of it. This way you don't have to cut away any extra behind the emblem.

  • @streethustla34 +1 to that.. lol

  • Fuuuuu yeah, OT.

  • is there other options on COLOR?

  • @seldm Yes. I have seen blue, yellow, red, black and clear. Im sure there are more

  • Looks fantastic! Thank you for the tutorial video.

  • @Necraeon thanks for watching!

  • You could've just peeled the plasti dip instead of all the masking in the small areas

  • @trogdor124 this is true. you don't have to mask it, however i believe this is the better way to get it to look the best. you dont have to worry about it tearing or pealing when you remove the excess.

  • good video, I did that too to my car emblems and my gf car, but I didn't think of just covering it instead of removing the emblems :P

  • whoever made this video is fat

  • @MikeHawk03 You are right about that. How did you know?

  • @MikeHawk03

    I lol'ed.

ellectronico.......OT eh? I'll have my pics up shortly...

  • @LXative OT FTW

  • Good job

  • @imstylesflava Thanks!
