  • Jonathan, I heard this song for the first time on August 12, 2011. I revisit every time I get tired of all the crap. It is the greatest anthem of the common man ever written. It has given me the strength to muddle through the tough times. Thanks so much for perfectly wording the struggles of Slater and us all!

  • This is going to be the next hit during the winter of 2012 in Sweden, thanks dude.

  • First time to hear this !! brilliant, made me laugh

  • A very cathartic song, even after so long every once in a while I listen to it! :)

  • this is still my favorite LOL

  • Wow! This is my song for today!

  • Oh my God, this made my entire day. Thank you. XD

  • Love the song! Loooooove it!

  • This is genius!!!

    Thank you.

We're singing along in Seattle. Maybe we'll take it to our teacher's union meeting this Thursday. Be a nice way to begin the strike.

  • Sign HIM Joe!!!!

  • i love it!!!!! I asked my guitar teacher to teach me this song and he had a kick out of it. Great song

  • I miss folk music thats involved in the news (: good job.

  • I'd love to have part of this for a ring tone! :)

  • Great song - catchy tune and a fucking heartwarming chorus that will definitely help me survive those tough work days. :P I thank you for not being a lazy lyricist.

  • ok 2min max... way too long.

  • the genius of this song (well, the most genius part, anyway) is the background singers. It's like the working man is joining in chorus.

  • Ha ha this is my life! Except 29......same diff.

  • Watched this video for an article I'm writing. Need to give you props on the lyrics:

"There comes a point/ In every man's life/ When he's just had enough/ We do our best/ Oh to be polite/ To keep it bottled up./ But the stage is set for the rage to get out of control." Article just wrote itself. Oh, and the chorus? I think I'm in love, Jonathan. So happy that I discovered you via Steven Slater.

  • I hope his co-workers don't take any crap in the future. Unite against those motherfuckers!

  • A song about A folk hero

  • Ur Song is on CNN

  • I love love love this, I want to learn to sing this and dude you are brilliant someone give this man a contract!!

  • Saw this on CNN. WTG

  • Well. it's fantastic. Maybe I've played this song 30 times so far this week and not everyone gets it, but I'll tell you something, not everyone gets Dylan either. It's a fine effort young man. Now stay away from those video games, they'll rot your mind.

  • @lannarebirth

And one more thing. If you should ever find yourself in Chiang Mai, Thailand you've a place to stay as long as you like.

  • Fuck you stupid ass Steven Slater supporters. He's a joke and a criminal, and should be in jail. And, oh by the way: your song is LAME, the lyrics suck, and you can't sing or play the guitar.

  • @fa2114 ya fuck u, this song is better than anything u will ever acheive u bastard. hate to ruin ur day.. but u are a mistake

  • Really Excellent song. Heard it two days ago, and it's been stuck in my head ever since then.

  • Hmmm....just found elsewhere that he's worked there since he was 19, and he's in his late 30s. So 20 years, not 28. I know, big deal, but I don't want someone who doesn't care about your music or Steven Slater attacking you on the basis of a small mistake. Just wanting to help keep your songs going, love your stuff.

  • Hey there, I love what you are doing, but just a small editing quibble: He didn't work for the airline for 28 years. He worked for 2 years, 8 months according to his airline profile. And really, the fella looks to be in his mid-thirties.

  • Haters... you're way too late, he's a hero so deal. =P

  • reepicheepful your version sounds like the kind of disinformation the airlines would put out in order to justify their arresting Slater.

  • yep

  • This is awesome!! Its great when talent and a sense of humor come together.

  • As an ex flight attendant I can relate lol

    Good job! ~xo

  • i loved your song so much that I have it on my phone and I shared in Facebook. Thank you for writing a song about the guy who had the guts to do something.

    Love you. ;)

  • an update of the sam hall song?

  • I love this, and I love you. Thank you.

  • This is so good. It makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. You really captured the spirit of it. Thank you.

  • haha that was awesome!

  • Your song is a hit in the Air Canada Jazz Crew rooms.

    Nice.......

  • Steven Slater is cool but this guy sucks. I think I will drink 2 beers and jump.

  • you're on CNN

  • For all of the songs created and sung about Steven Slater and the incidents around his departure from Jet Blue, Jonathan Mann has really captured the poignant essence of the story.

Any person who has had to suppress the frustration and anger in the face of an impolite, incompetent or ignorant customer can relate all to well with how Steven reacted. One can only hide behind the politely veneered rage for so long.

Thank you Jonathan for the wonderful song.

  • You're on CNN!

  • Steven Slater's version of what happened has more holes in it than a block of swiss cheese. Visit my channel to hear the truth.

  • Ffffing awesome!

  • ♥ it!

  • You be on CNN!

  • Steven Slater should get promoted!! Cant put him back working with the public knowing he's a security risk and may snap again at any moment, however, his creativity and 'take no bs' attitude is what every company needs running their show! GO JETBLUE!! lol

  • Yeah, I just found you/this video off CNN's front page, too funny. Good job, lol

  • Yeah, I just found you/this video off CNN's front page, too funny. Good job, lol

  • Maybe you should hold your soon to be nominated Grammy song until all the facts are in. Are you aware that when Steven pulled that latch that sliding chute was like shooting off a loaded gun and that chute could have KILLED someone instantly, What is that dead person was one of your loved ones?Would you still be writing a song to Steven?

  • lol

  • @therockcookiebottom your also on the CNN website

  • Hey man, you are on CNN as well. :)

  • At first I wasn't sure what to make of this, until he went into the "Fuck you, fuck you all" - I LOVE IT.

I'll put this on my boss's voicemail before he leaves at 5:00.

  • @northernlights1013 vids or it didn't happen

  • Jimmy Fallon's "Grab Two Beers and Jump" is much better.

  • @19Somebody85 no way! this is better. jimmy fallons is flat. (though this IS too long)

  • great song!

  • your on cnn.com

  • WOW!!! Beside the bad language throughout the entire song, it was nice.

  • AWESOME FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER AT CNNAUSTINTX

  • I like it man! Great lyrics!

  • Big smiles!

  • This is awesome - BrokenBjartur obviously has no taste. Your song may have the usual chords, but they're the USUAL chords because people like them. That's why they're popular. That's why they get famous. I hope you get famous (or at least internet famous) and piss all over the haters. Hey, maybe you could dedicate the chorus to them! Keep it up. You rock.

  • motherfucking - this was one fucking awesome fucking song!

  • I love it! You're creativity is astounding. Nice work.

Don't let the douche bags get to you. They're simply jealous of your genius.

  • Awesome...thank you...

  • The lawyer hit the nail on the head. The lack of civility in our society is unnerving. The entitled, narcissistic, arrogant customers who think they own you because they are paying you are out of control. The polite customer is always right.... Service, civility and mutual respect are a two-way street.

  • AWESOME!

  • Dude... Great Lyrics... We are a country about to explode... Why is there so much HATE in a country that has more than most could imagine?... Its the AMERICAN EGO that is going to destroy what once was precious... And this is the Land of the Free! REVOLUTION is upon us! And we will owe our demise to the HYPOCRITE RELIGIOUS RIGHT WING KNOW IT ALLS!!!

  • Dude... Great Lyrics... We are a country about to explode... Why is there so much HATE in a country that has more than most could imagine... Its the AMERICAN EGO that is going to destroy what once was precious... But yet we can't even afford the luxury of Marriage to people that just want to be in loving relationships... We are the most self centered countrys that will one day fall from its grace... as its already happening... REVOLUTION is upon us!

  • I worked as a mindless retail drone for four months over the summer during my college years, and this is the sort of thing I wanted to say to every single belligerent customer who dumped clothing on my sales floor and yelled at me when they couldn't find a belt large enough to fit around their enormous girth. I never had the guts to do this.... Working people have feelings too. Thank you Steven Slater for making that point for all of us.

  • Awesome...true poetry! Beautiful

  • Midstokke wrote a better ballad to Steven Slater

  • @midstokkemusic Or.. not. This one is great. That one is terrible. Sorry.

  • @denverbronco82 don't apologize, I feel sorry for you too! :)

  • stephen Slater is a hero, he deserves a decent song and this song is pretty decent. Thanks very much for sharing it with us!

  • ♫ FUCK U/ FUCK ALL U/ I'M FUCK'N THRU WITH THIS/ I'VE HAD IT/ ♫

    ♫ I'VE BEEN DOING THIS/ FOR 28 FUCK'N YEARS/ I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE/ ♫

  • fuck you too cunt, and the horse you rode in on.

  • Love it!

  • With your permission, I'd like to link this to my blog.

  • i sure wish this song had been out 10 months ago when i left an old job in a call center here in ny! I actually began to wonder what caller would get this kind of response from me!

  • Great song. GREETINGS from Poland!! and... Fuck You all, I done.

  • Actually beginning to grow on me

  • love it

  • Can't wait to sing this to my kids tonight....

  • Sorry, but Steven Slater is not a hero. With all due respect, you all are naive for believing it. According to ABC News, Steven Slater was allegedly drinking on the job and actually instigated the confrontation with the passengers. So what do you think about your "folk hero" now? Check out my channel for more commentary.

  • Great. The background vocals really take it home.

  • Slater is a quitter and a coward. He is selfish and people like him are pulling society down. Someone needs to put him in his place.

  • Split the world like an egg and let it fry in the SUN!

Consumerism created a shithole of a world, getting shittier.

The legacy to the following generations is a disgusting embarassment. Pity the future, and fuck you all.

  • there's an amazing 'pullin' a slater' tee over at goodie two sleeves (dot) com with a portion of the proceeds going directly to steven's legal defense. you even get 15% off if you use the code SLATER! i'm so going to buy one and help my boy out!

  • teamslater.spreadshirt. com/

  • This dude is my hero! My wife works in the public service business. She is a nurse. She puts up with verbal and sometimes physical abuse daily. Her employer does not consider the other side of the issue, the abuse inflicted upon her from doctors, patients, but mostly the family members of patients. Gotta give it to this dude for having enough, grabbing a few cold ones, and exiting in style!!!

  • Nicely done. The background vocals really take it home.

  • Nicely done. The background vocals really take it home.

  • @strozyk14 they played it? Polish TV rocks. Fuck the FCC

  • @arf900 I saw this song in polish NewsTV :)

  • This song is pretty popular, if you think this one is good go listen to 583

    583 kicks ass

  • Love these songs

  • Dude this is beyond awesome.. Fuck them haters..fuck em all. Fuck all the the people that hate your song. It was funny. And a very good performance as wel.

  • I hav3e been singing this all day! Love this and love Steven Slater.

Thank you therockcookie bottom for this great ballad!

  • There were times in my nursing career that I felt like singing this song....but back in the day, if one said the " f" word. it was unacceptable. I don't normally give kudos to songs like this, but I've worked for the public..and this was how many of us felt while under job stress. Creative song, and thankfully, we live where we can say things like this..and not get kicked to the curb for doing so. It seems that Steven Slater is now a folk hero. He won't have to worry about working for jet blue.

  • classic folk ! tells a story with song, classic! simple chords, easy lyrics, perfect.

especially since he writes a new song everyday

  • Your song is great!

  • Check it: ABC Australia radio.

  • Hey, 28 years of dealing with people? he made a great exit! get em' Slater!

  • I love this song..we all have had days where u just wanna say f#*:k off!!!!!

  • Awesome!

  • awesome awesome awesome

  • 28 years... this guys been working since he was 10. now i can see why he flipped out

  • ahh yes, after six years of them being rude to me at last its my turn...call me steven cough cough.... yeah go on then, keep my money, keep my jewellery! keep whatever makes them happy. axelle_rose... at least steven does not have to pay for his bail...lucky man...being a hero has it perks.... spend it well my friends!!!! axelle_rose

  • Dude you rock! good song. and that guy whos all in your face about saying the word Fuck.......Fuck him! keep on keepin' on

  • Steven Slater is a true HERO! He beat the f*cking system. Some will say: "That's not the way it's done." But hey, at least he can go home with peace of mind unlike millions workers who die of stress and strokes by being abused at work. You will die anyways. People like Steven will go glorious and many years from now. The rest of us will have a heart attack anytime now till we wait for payment...

  • you are not talented. Kill yourself, or get.... no jut kill yourself. This is so fucking gay, although Steven Slater is cool. But novelty comedy songs like this are fucking worthless.

  • Yeah baby Fuck y'all

  • STEVEN SLATER IS MY HERO! Great job man!

  • pretty funny......all you haters on here lighten up. I think its funny how you haters are analyzing the chord progression of this obvious light hearted song about a current event.

  • FUCKING PERFECT!!!!!! nice job!!

  • @BrokenBjartur This comment cracks me up.

  • @therockcookiebottom i'm curious as to why you would take the time to respond to this guy's douche-bag remark but yet to the thousands of folks that send you praise and encouragement, you say nothing - not even a thank you... seems bass ackwards to me.

  • @BearMate You know, that's a really good point. I guess it's because those negative ones, especially ones as stupid as the one above, stick out! I do really appreciate all the support though. It's really the people that watch me everyday that keep me going.

  • @therockcookiebottom i understand completely. when i was making vids, the negative comments would really hurt. i was raised to say nothing at all if you can't say something nice... having said that, let me say that i love your work and watch you every day. i am just one of thousands of your watchers that really appreciate what you do and wish you the best for the future.

  • @BrokenBjartur This comment cracks me up too. This song cracked me up.

  • @BrokenBjartur your a total fag.wow get over it.

  • people are allowed to pick there heroes. musical value is a relative term. i doubt beethoven (or bob dylan) will write an ode to steven slater. let's not get too serious about this and please don't tell me to fuck off. but if you must i will begrudgingly respect your honesty.

  • @greatgrape4123

As relative a term it is, it doesn't stop people from using the same old chords and the same old rhythm. It's pathetic, and I feel like music is the whore of the century, where no respect at all is given to it.

  • @BrokenBjartur And what music have you written? Yeah, that's what I thought.

It's comedy anyway, not serious music.

  • @BrokenBjartur - f**k you. I liked it.

  • It is such a humiliating experience to fly...we should all stand up and refuse to strip or be x-rayed be the TSA. Fuck them all...including the shoe bomber and whomever mentioned using drinks as weapons but more so the assholes who created these rules for all good citizens just because of a couple of idiots.

  • I don't think genius is too much of an accolade here. Fantastic song, funny, and direct. I'm not sure Steven is a hero, but his exit is infinitely better that shooting a bunch of people. I hope this becomes the new copycat way to 'get back' at the people at work. Thank you for this!
