The Cult put on one the greatest rock shows I've ever seen. The Love Tour Boston show. I've been in the "business" for decades and I stand by that statement. Bloody perfect!
Fuckin England they always born the best Rock/Rockstars and who do we Americans get? Fuckin' Nirvana, Lady Gaga, Usher. Pffff fuck this I'm gonna be a born again English man. :)
Hey, don't be like that, you still have (or at least used to have :P) the doors, jimi hendrix, most of psychedelic rock and all the blues guys from 50s-60s
I love the rain, I love the cult, I love this song, I love the 80's, back to my childhood, rain .... eh eh eh eh here come the memories, Cult in my heart, I love this voice ....
OMG! I was suppose to go to this concert. Some girl named Annalisa asked me if I wanted to go and for some reason I declined! I'm such a damn dumb ass!
I was totally there that night, dressed in black of course with one dangly cross earing probably a huge metal necklace, girly combat boots and a vintage dress.it's incredible there's footage of this. A flood of memories is going thru my head right now. Those were the days. No worries. Just hanging with my friends.
the cult and sisters of mercy 2 best groups by far in 1983 alice and she sells sanctuary loved the death cult and southern death cult too though dreamtime dreamtime I will have my dreamtime
@technomarty1 Yeah! I remember the Sisters of Mercy I used to play them on my college radio show. I wish I could remember more details. At one point I was hitting clubs 3 or 4 nights a week. Not sure how afforded it all. CBGB's was a favorite I even etched my name on the bathroom door. It was all about the music. Thank god we had it, because 80's pop music sucked!! I still change the station when "every breath you take" comes on.
this stuff makes me proud to have grown up in the 80's.. I kinda feel bad for some of the kids today - so hard for them to find good music - we had it everywhere.
Is it just me or would any other female fan of The Cult particularly Ian Astbury during 84-89, kill for an Ian Astbury look-alike? Where did all the beautiful long-haired slightly feminine but straight guys go?
The Cult is one of the best bands by far, I hate almost all of today's music.
Awesome song, I remember some strange kids at a party telling me to buy the love album in the mid 80's. I did and they became my favorite band. Saw them live opening for Metallica which was a tough gig. Wish I could have seen them at this stage of their career, awesome. Check out electric album too!! Great stuff.
I was fifteen, now I'm 40, but every time I hear thi song I want to jump and dance playing my guitar. Thanks to Ian and to the ones who made this video. Forever young! Moya
I loved The Cult and most of all I loved this song. I was fifteen, now I'm 40, but every time I hear this song I want to jump and dance and play my guitar. Thanks to Ian and to the ones who made this video. Thank you, forever young!
Billy Duffy has got to be one of the best and more original guitarists of all time..Luck to have seen them live in Gulfport MS '1989 along with Exodus and Metallica Headbanger's ball Tour '89. The Cult reminds us that take away the stupid bubble gum pop and stupid pop dance of that decade the alternative / underground and a lot of metal was actually terrific. The Cult was alternative rock before there was alternative rock - years ahead of their time.
That's not entirelly true, Bauhaus (also from england) started 78 so Cult wasn't the first, but that doesn't matter when you've written a song like this.
The eighties were cool, I'm just glad some of the great eighties bands are still making music and touring: The Cult, The Cure, Maiden, The B.H. Surfers and Ministry especially.
Not your fault you were born late. Some us were blessed to have been around. It was good times.. HS and College in the 80's were a blast. Just a whole generating wanting to party!
This may be the Cult's best live performance ever. The sound is so tight. Just perfect. And to me the best cult line up with Ian, Billy, Jamie and Lez Warner on Drums. Brilliant!!!!
you are very lucky to have seen them in their prime. i hadnt, and will always regret it- although i doubt they toured anywhere close to where i was living then. also, Alice in Chains-- will always regret not seeing THEM live. those two bands, only...metallica and the rolling stones i do like, overall, but i dont care about seeing those groups live. U2-- one of these tours, ill be there.
this song and group is one of the great groups of the 80's. It can not be denied. Its odd that they did not get more acclaim. I suspect alot of groups or people were just jeoluous, or what ever.

Absolutely awesome live band - saw them last week and 23 years later they still rock, but they were in phenomenal form for this New York concert in '85. Really tight sound - and you've got to love Ian Astbury's antics on stage - what a showman!
Took me 20 years to hear this song live. When I heard the drum beat starting up, well, grinning like a big stupid idiot doesn't even begin to cover it!! lol
