  • @Epic1 Hey Epic, I'm having a hard time getting a full webster on flat ground. Do you focus more on the jumping leg or the back leg?

  • do you have to tuck while doing the webster? because I land to much late

  • @Straydogsfreerun You bring your thighs closer to your body and tuck that way. You don't wanna tuck too much though because you generate alot of rotation this way. It's just spread out all over

  • what top is that?

  • The side one would be an epic way to enter a roda....

  • wait... is there a real difference between a webster and a front flip??

  • i doubt u will see this epic but how r u suposed 2 tuck in a webster, under ur arse or normal tuck cause i cant tell how u do it in this vid thx If anyone else could answer this would b a big help :)

  • thank you :)

  • awesome video. really helpful

  • Thanks u so much mane..I've really have a kind of better understanding on how to perfect my "Webster" now much preciates it EPIC!

  • do you have to tuck your legs while doing the webster? because I don't get the hight or something

  • @Straydogsfreerun No you are not supposed to tuck. It's all about getting that lift and push cncept down. Timing is everything in this movement.

  • I'm a lil inflexible and i'm really worried about pullling off flips. Is it possible to pull it off smoothly even though im inflexible?

  • i tryed and kneed myslf in the face... haha..

  • the dropping your center thing really helps a lot :] thanks~!

  • Yea,,,ive been doing the opposite of everyone with mine lol jumping leg tucked and kicking leg straight cause im that cool. Guess ill try the standard way and see how it goes.

  • i can do this......imma try it mayb 2morrow

  • you still have a really bad landing u have to before u start.pull with your arms up in the air then tuck quickly and swing with the kicking leg i will give you both higher webster and a faster rotation trust me ..watch my videos and u will se :D

  • is there a webster progression?

  • @rubixfreerunner771 not unless you have a crash mat for landing. =P

Unless you get one of those cylinder mats and allow it to teach you to arch your back.

  • @rubixfreerunner771 You could start doing fronthandsprings :) it's practicly the same as the webster but with hands :) so it gives u the extra height. Although i learned the other way haha :) Discovered i could do very good fronthandsprings because of my websters xD

  • @MatZuly kwl, thnx

  • i not only got taught how to do a webster today i also learnt that if you put 1 and 2 togeather you get 3 :D

  • u make it look so easy haha

  • how high do you have ti jump to do this

  • Have you ever kicked the ceiling?? lol

  • epic where are u located

  • Oh sorry another thing is i land on two feet with my webster instead of being able to like step out or land foot foot any tips??? P.S. sorry i'm commenting soo much..

  • Can you make a loser tutorial??

  • When I do it I land on my back, how so i fix this?? thanks.

  • @bballgirl7575 you have 2 options, you can throw yourself into it harder to get a faster rotation, or you can get yourself higher with a harder push and lift. Also you could just keep trying over and over and wait for it to be right and see what you did to make it right. Unfortunately, the last one is how I learn mine. :P

  • I can do the webster take off fine, and get the rotation and height, but I spin really fast and I tuck and land with both feet, I can't land on oneD: Help??

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you ! Thank you! Thank you so much !

  • So do I have to try to kick the pushing leg in the air too after pushing with it? cuz my webster needs a lot more height

  • Hey Epic, Real Talk Man.. This video, everything about it is just fantastic. The instruction, the positivity. You're a great teacher man and You're exactly right, all tricks are perfected by perfecting the form. If kids slowed their tricks down and took the time to learn, everybody would be tricking on their way to work down the street. Seriously man, You completely deserve the name EPIC. Great video, you're one lucky dude! Keep on Bro!

  • i can do front flip, and front flip from a stand... i try webster and every time i try it i fall on my butt.. i think of trying it from some high spot (not to much high just a little from the ground) will that be wrong? i mean it's wrong when you don't know what are you doing but i know what i am doing i just don't jump enough high to do a full webster..

  • @AllCopsAreBastard87 What worked for was using my arms like I was going for a dive kong

  • Hey epic loveing the lesson man i may sound dmb but i gotta ask as im learning these myself on the landing is there any different kinda way i should be learning for these if im comeing off of a small drop like feet paralell with each other or one infront of the other like on this video would be great to know thanks

    ash

  • i fall on my butt but don't know whats worng

  • so i was doing frontflips and i used one of mylegs for momentum like this trick so is that a webster or is it the landing that makes this trick what it is?

  • @sicle uhmmm it not drill it dril it drill it.... Its drill it drill it dill it :P

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH :D

i love your tutorials man :)

  • hey epic i am praticing the webster for like a 3 weeks now and last week i land it but now my problem first i dow a side webster en not landing it evry time and how do you tuck in a webster i really need help i want to webster so hard danm so please help me with that STAY POSITVE

  • Ok. So I think what I need to think about I'm doing this trick is to rotate on my way up. I usually try to get height and then rotate but I see you getting height and rotating so when your at your peak you are already spotting the ground.

  • If im a righty, wat leg do i use to lift first and stuff.

  • @fruit4710 use ur right leg to push and lift ur left because ur right should be ur more powerful leg to push u up :)

  • do you have to kick hard??

  • hey man i am from morocco yesterday i just watched your 2 webster tutorials and right away i called my friend and we did go to the park and first time when i started it i keep landing on my hand and after a few tries i did it :))))))))))

thanks alot and stay positive :=)

  • It. I have not achieve the Webster yet but I will keep trying. Ur an inspiration

  • Hi epic ur tutorials are cool. I tried ur methods but like u say drill it drill it drill

  • @Epic1

    Hey buddy!

I want to thank you for taking your time to help and inspire people, all over the world, to live positive, and of course for making these tutorials!

Just today I learned to execute the webster right cus of this tutorial :)

    You are an idol to many people buddy -including me. keep that in mind and... stay positive! (;

    Regards Eatyaraw from Denmark! :)

  • it helps me when i hold the right back of my leg, is that a bad thing it looks really sweet ?

  • I really can't see how you have so many inactive subs, it's a shame.

  • Is doing a side webster bad? I mean like...can it hurt your joints? Cause i kinda like doing side websters xD

  • @XiaoGia96 i like doing side websters too... this is just to help some of those who care about form. =D

  • @Epic1 Aaah, i see. So..side websters are completely safe?

  • @XiaoGia96 There not bad, this sport is an art, and art is an expression of yourself, do what ever fits you. doing it sideway in it's self won't hurt your joints, but not controlling it by going into it or coming out of it too hard or soft, ect, can. You have to figure out what works best with your body and go from there.

  • Hey I need some help with my webster and backflip. I can't seem walk out of my webster. I know I need to go higher but I'm not exactly sure how? Any tips would help, thanks. Check my channel and I sent you the video responses. :) Thanks

  • @ysoKmao as i said in the video, use your arms and push off that bottom leg!!!!

  • I keep looking at the ceiling fan and worry you may graze your feet on it..

  • Took these tips and learned how to do a webster on ground today. thx's Epic

  • @Epic1 you know u said ur knees are now hurting from parkour/tricking. What advice would u give to prevent this happening?

When doing precisions you often hear don't bend ur knees beyond 90degrees, is there any truth in this?

I use ur safety tap quite a lot and it feels good but the knees go way beyond 90.

If punching is bad for ur joints, then for flips (i.e. front) how do u get ur height for them?

  • @maverick040690 Be as fluid as possible, any jolts or harsh landings or movement are prob. not good for your knee. Condition them, and learn to flow.

idk wat the deal with the 90 degree angle is i like to go low because i gain more control over my balance by doing so, but I land first, and then go low. I don't go low upon landing.

My safety tap helps me, and theres other runners that do the same technique, like daniel ilabaca and even david belle has done it, though we all have out own way.

  • @Epic1 I had problems with my shins so took some time out n did ashtanga yoga with an incredible teacher, this man knows not of gravity when it comes to hand balance! That has conditioned my legs very well.

I'm not really sure bout this 90 degrees thing is either because surely it spreads ur impact over more time/distance. Maybe its to do with going into a roll after, cos if u bend beyond 90 degrees before u roll it won't transition smoothly.

Thank you for your response and for being you!

  • @Epic1 Oh yeah and about the punch take off what wud u advise?

  • @maverick040690 Don't do it... no punching... use that LIFT AND PUSH concept

  • @Epic1 Sounds like I'm being told off for fighting in the playground ;)

So for front/side flips do u drop ur centre slightly n push then?

  • @maverick040690 ahahahah nooo no ur fine... just punching kills... but yes i drop my center ever so much just enough to shift my weight from one side to another and use the momentum

  • @Epic1 could I send you a vid of my webster? I'm not sure what I'm doin wrong but I keep bailing...

  • @Walldunk no, post it as a video response or put it on my fanpage wall so others can see it... i delete all videos sent to me on youtube. My fanpage link is in the description

  • @Epic1 Ok, I'll put it in as a video response. Thanks :D

  • i want to add something...i watched many tutorials etc..but i dont land in a standing position...then i watched a vid from andrea catozzi (his high webster tutorial) and the look forward for an instant helped me alot now i jump higher :D it has to come from the look forward..

  • @fabianraess exactly!! wherever the head goes the body's gonna follow. =D

  • @fabianraess Wow cool! I will defenitly try it :)

  • LOL! "you have to remember don't just throw your arms down. if you do that. (claps) you will land on your ass"

  • I did it as you said i rotate so fast that I fell down too sudden which is my problem??

  • @gabmax4 as ur going down and pushing off that bottom leg, pull ur arms up... remember the momentum loops in a circle.

  • This is amazing! Thanks!! I'm gonna try this. I'm just getting into parkour though, is this good for beginners? I think it'll help with my front flip. I tried a front flip, and failed badly. This seems easier.

  • @doconer1 i think this will help a LOT

  • @Epic1 Ahh, perfect! Thanks. =) Hopefully I'll have this down in time for when you come to the city!

  • did I win? 2:34 :))

  • @Epic1 I have all basic flips down . its just i have sore knees . just wondering can youn post a video on taking care of your legs and could you do a tutorial on how to 360 in any flip?

  • what do you do for living? something related to 3run?

  • How bout doing a b-twist tutorial? I think I saw yours somewhere in past but I cannot remember where. :/

  • @velebr3 already made one, search BTWIST TUTORIAL

  • @Epic1 Ok, thanks a lot. You rock. :)

  • "I said dill it":))))

They way you said it, it reminded me of Chandler Bing:)).

  • Your the best theacher's tricking i watch on youtube.

    Thanks Epic!

  • First class tutorial Epic!

  • what is easyer webster or frontflip? cuz im training frontflip but i cant land well

  • @inofen websters are def. easier but its good to learn both

  • Andrea Catozzi has a really good webster tutorial, but not that in-depth.

  • Which is easier to learn first- a frontflip or a Webster?

  • @Walldunk why not learn both?

  • @Epic1 eventually I will learn both, but I can't do any type of flip so I want to start out with the easiest-to-learn flip first..

Whenever I try to do a Webster, my rotation is very slow. I tried to swing my arms with more force and that didn't help... Any tips? Thanks! :D

  • @Walldunk you can't force it... you should CONTROL IT.... remember like I said u cant just throw it and expect to land it, u have to control it. Websters are easier for me, but that's only because I don't punch... I'm better at controlling my momentum than I am at using raw power and throwing craziness.

  • @Epic1 Hey Epic You said you can't just throw it, but i mean at some point you got to right? maybe i get you wrong but how are you ever supposed to do a flip without bailing it 100 times? that would be pure luck. Ow and one question left how should i start this move flatground of off a wall? cheers thanks for the tutorial!

  • @unknownmovement just don't throw it carelessly.... you have to control it, and you learn to control by falling but doesnt mean you should just toss yourself around... you gotta always aim for perfect, because otherwise ur muscle memory will remember those falls... and tha'tll mess u up for a while

  • @Epic1 Any tips on how to control your rotation so you rotate faster? Thanks! :)

  • @Walldunk where ever the head goes the body's gonna follow.... launch ur chest forward quickly and ull rotate forward faster.

  • @Epic1 I'm new to this stuff haha. I don't really get how to "launch my chest".. Sorry, I must be annoying but the help is much appreciated! :D thanks for the tips!

  • @Walldunk or simply ball up tighter and quicker

  • Speak slowly, italian people are watching your videos too :P

  • jak sie chce zrobic tutoriala do jakiego kolwiek triku to trzeba miec go opanowanego do perfekcji. ja tu nie widze perfekcji w tym zalosnym websterze xD

  • Thanks for the tutorial :D

  • u shouldn't have knee energies or pain if u condition.well not sure if u do

  • @OTTBlindfish well unfortunately i went too long without knowing what i was doing to them, but it's totally curable.

  • @Epic1 Yeah same here i went insane for 6months on cardio jump ropeing..killing my chins and knees but i didint really know why they hurted.on till i read some stuff =/ its healed now thhou,i put way to much stress on them

  • why do you make this look so easy :/

  • @Gascan38 because i drilled it, i did it over n over n over like i told and tell so many other people... u just gotta drill it.

  • @Epic1 i did what you said but and i learned alot from it, but still you make it look easy

  • When I started tricking I watched your tutorials to understand the tricks.

Now I watch your tutorials for motivation and inspiration.

    THANKS :D KEEP EM COMING

  • Considering how clean most of your tricks are, your webster is too great...

  • lls, "You put 1 and 2 together......(drumroll....audience gasping....longlasting suspense...).....you get 3"

  • m sayin this because im a beginner

  • wht if i try this n fall on my ass ... will it break LOL xD

  • @darkPrince796 dude landing on ur asss on grass doesnt hurt,,, at ALLL i;ve shown others and they say the same then i throw myself on the grass for them to show them it doesnt hurt.and i ;ve landed everywhere on grass

  • @darkPrince796 it doesn't hurt man if it did lmao there woundlnt be stunt men xD just break that fear

  • @darkPrince796 Trying a frontflip or webster and landing on your arse doesnt hurt at all if your feet hit the floor at the same time, because they break the fall.

  • @Jordan360Z thanx for the info dude

  • You have really good tutorials, but you talk way too much.

You could benefit from maybe pre-planning what you say, and sometimes doing it on the spot is good but for 7 miinute videos... i think not.

Also i would like to see more video's on what you did to prepare for these moves.

    Thanks

  • @TraceurArok I walk myself through the movments the way u see me explain them, you will see me show drills to work into them, I do those exact drills, and work my way up to be comfortable. All my tutorials are DETAILED tutorials, it's important to add small tips and such to help others avoid common problems. Please understand.

  • @Epic1 alright, i myself haven't watched all your videos so i am only making assumptions on the ones i have seen.

I believe that you could improve your tutorials by taking considering my opinions.

I understand but i have a very narrow mindset, To be and to last is what i teach and believe and doing tutorials when you had knee problems doesn't register with me as positive teaching, thats why i suggested doing videos on what you did to prepare for the moves.

    Please dont mis-understand me.

    Thanks.

  • @TraceurArok I know what you mean, but my survival depends on money, and my money depends on my being able to demonstrate. I understand you completely, but I don't have much of a choice unless I wanna homeless.

  • @Epic1 oh.

I did not realize. By all means make your bosses happy.

Do what you need to survive, don't lose what makes you You in the process.

    Good chat.

    Thanks.

  • @TraceurArok =))) Hahah no prob. I am takin' care of myself. Grow up a bit sucks. =P

  • "So you got one and two. You put them together.........you got three" =P hahahah

  • 0 10 - 0 11 this is Lil B XD ahaahahahha

  • wait so are you totally against punches or just for this move? is it even possible to not punch while tricking? i injured my knees while running so im building them up for the summer to really start tricking so any tips to help from hurting them would be awesome. awesome video by the way!

  • @bassplayer247 Punching is why my knees hurt as bad as they do. =\\

If anything rely on smoothness and technique. Instead of raw power.

  • @Epic1 What was up with your knees? I can't remember if you mentioned it in a video or not. My patella in both knees are messed up so no tricking for me for a few months! =(

  • @NightF101 they just ache, and hurt and make it hard to go up stairs sometimes, and once in a while they'll just give out on me. =P

  • @bassplayer247 You dont punch in websters. AT ALL.

  • DUDE! I FINALLY LANDED MY WEBSTER WITHOUT HURTING MYSELF BY DOING THAT NON-SKIPPY THING YOU TAUGHT!!!! YOUVE RE-EARNED MY RESPECT AS A TUTOR!!!

  • helpfull

  • i fractured my elbow doing parkour and it was worth it

  • @TheSkull1996 because you learned from the experience?

Because if not your injury means jack, nothing, become a role model for others by teaching through learning.

  • go watch ryan doyle teach the webster

  • @mrjoethevegan i've seen his tutorial, he's got some great tips as well =D

  • @Epic1 What about Andrea Catozzi's tutorial ? And, your knees, they heart under the ball of the knee and above the shin ? Cause they hurt me there very bad and I'm afraid i might have a torn meniscus. Did your knees stopped hurting ? Please answere. Thanks.

  • @raizenpk my tutorials goes into more depth than andrea catozzi's tut... his is for a quick fast and simple breakdown, mine goes into to detial to help others avoid common problems.

Yeah that's where my knees hurt, but just condition them, see a chiropractor and listen to what they say.

  • Do you teach karate?

  • @RsExoKiler No, I teach tricking

  • @Epic1 I wish my Dojo taught tricking :( i am having to teach and train myself and its way harder than I thought it might be

  • @EVILMANGO321 fear not man, i am self taught as well, but look how far i've come!! and look at the limits others have surpassed!! =DDD

  • press 3!!!!!

  • your knees are bugging you? Thats rough dude, knee problems ruined a year of tricking for me. I finally pushed them till my patella broke and i had to wait a long time. Now im back at it better than ever because the healing period gave them time to recover. Idk what your knee problems were, but mine was tendonitis mainly in the patella. Hope it gets better dude, give it a rest if need be, its worth it

  • But the question still stands, can you tell us how to do a side Kip-up?

  • @Flario93 dude i dont even know what that is hahahaha so prob. not

  • @Epic1 lol i was being sarcastic :P cause on the kip up video someone asked that lol

  • @Flario93 I figured so, but even still... I've never even heard of that!! hahaha But that was a good one. =P

  • @Epic1 I don't trick but even I know that's not a real thing! Though, I do watch all your videos :)

  • Thank bob. I needed help with my websters. I thought I just sucked.

  • how about landing it froma step or ledge? i dont quite know how to land spit foot like that

  • you should give the link to your lift and push concept tutorial ( ̄ー ̄)

  • Thank you! My problem was that I'm not taking off low enough. Thanks daddio!:D Take care of them knees. Us new generation of Trickers and Free-Runners need your knees as much as you do!!<3

  • Should I be able to do a front flip before I do a webster?

  • @the1996iscool It doesnt matter. You will probably learn a webster first because its like doing a front handspring without the hands. If you learn a front first then doing a webster should be cake.

  • @the1996iscool why not learn both??

  • @Epic1 I can front handspring, butterfly kick, kip up, rubberband, cartwheel and thats about it. Im scared of doing an upside down move becasue if i bail then there are consenquences. I really dont know whats the easiest way to begin a webster or front flip? and whats easier front flip/ webster or back flip/ back handspring>

  • @the1996iscool Back handspring, and webster. To start a webster just do a front handspring but right before you let your hands touch the ground throw them down to you waiste and tuck your head. You'll land on your upper back and it'll kinda hurt, but you will eventually get over the fear. Dont forget to pop your upper back after wards. For back handspring, just start on hte edge of a trampoline and back handspring onto the center of the trampoline.

  • I personally think websters are a TAKE OFF movement. Once you know how to take off you easily get it down and then you can play around with landing variations!

  • dammit how are you so good? keep up the good work bro!

  • loser tutorial?

  • Before I used to always practice it standing like a loser & now when I try a webster I can' do it because the run throws me off . any tips guys?

  • @juanazulyeah04 dont run so much or dont run anymore than two steps, look at how i dont even run i just take a few quick steps and drop my center and launch up

  • :D I'm 5'11"!

  • The landing is like the feel of Au Sem Mao.. Awesome

  • Websters are my favorite trick at the moment.

I do prefer to do a normal forwards webster, but they often turn into side websters because for some reason, I find sideways easier to land. So I can do either one depending on the situation.

    Thanks for the tutorial Epic!

  • Inspirational man! Keep it up
