Well the owner of the yet to be ratified Cowboys, Clint Murchinson went to marshall's ex-wife and bought the rights to the fight song "Hail to the Redskins" and told him the song could not be played unless Marshall voted to give Dallas a team
The Kansas City Chiefs used to be the Dallas Texans in the old AFL before the merger, Dallas couldn't support two teams in the same market and the Cowboys were way more popular so Kansas City courted the Texans and they changed their names to the Chiefs after they left Dallas.
