1977 I was 23 years old and love to dance, the disco clubs were a great release for stress, back than I worked hard and played hard. These were my days.
I was in my early 20's and single when I boogied EVERY WEEKEND . This song ALWAYS played, every weekend. The dance floor got packed as soon as the record hit the needle, no DVDs back then! . I can say that my present back problems stemmed from songs like this...spinning on 6-inch spiked heels until all hours of the night. If I had to do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat. One of the best dance dance songs EVER
@chindee103 In my opinion 70's disco songs are better than the songs we have now. I mean, now they are all like robotic/emotionless voices and back then you didn't have that. And the beat was better back then in my humble opinion. But that's maybe because I am a 60's - 90's music lover. I am from '93 though.
OMG! Pay attention guys, this is the sickest bassline ever made. I have been hearing this song since I was a 6 in 1978 and can´t quit. Wanna a time machine.
We have I Love Disco here in Liege (Belgium) every year and let me tell you that is a party not many of us miss. It is really back in time and really having the fun time of your life. Looking forward to this year's party.
@008yt Thank God I'am Older NOW..it was Fun in those days but I love the space where I'am now in my Life! Thank your lucky stars if you reach to be in the 40's,I'am Wiser...its all about EVOLUTION! It was a good time where I was Born! I wouldn't have it any other way.
@22centman36 Of course I would go back..by the way the year was 1978..the movie was released around Christmas of 1977..I was to young at the time to see the movie, but somehow friends of mine got in ..and would tell me in school all the vulgarian episodes in the movie.I was to young to understand, until I viewedthe movie myself when I was old enough to understand.Pretty racy stuff at the time, but compared to now,its really innocent.
Ah the good old days before the Aids terror came around. Thats why chicks dance nowadays with each other. Girls at Discos back then would dance with guys not each other in the good old days.
Disco is the last type of music that had specific dance moves attached to it. I love disco and I love the dance moves. I plan on learning and dancing in my apartment for the sake of pure, uncorrupted, fun. What a waste the new types of music are these days and music really isn't music unless you can actually dance to it.
Det styrer stadig ...!! in english.: We agree :-) damn..we are happy, that we where teens in the 80` and grow up with all that great music.. :-) . Interesting that my students like to listen to the 80 aswell... ? ! :-)
this LP was like...... gone off store shelfs for months remember it well trying to find it or at friends houses and it playing. that tune 5th of beethoven disco style was a true clever tune at the time .
@synthlab I agree with you...I also grew up in this era..it was fun to grow up at this time..no internet..real communicaton..but i always knew things would change once computers became more popular
@masterofgames2350 I know right..so contradicting. Its reality though..But I do miss the mystery of working for someones attention. Today everything is put out there. What you miss is the evolving of mixed emotions you may have about someone or something. Back then you didn't have the influence of opinions about a movie, just positive or negative propaganda from people wo seen the movie. Not someone online bringing back feed back all over these social networks.
@masterofgames2350 people made up their own minds about Saturday Night Fever and made it a hit,and its movie soundtrack. Selling 23 million copies.Because they loved both the music and the movie.
@synthlab I really hate the fact that i was born in the 90s. the music we listen to now are absolute shits. they promote violence, hatred, drug and sex. on top of all they sound like shit. but i always enjoyed hearing from my mother how things were like when she was young going to disco and having fun. i always have people judge and laugh about me because i listen to disco and funks.... i mean those are the real thing, real music. even inspired me to start playing bass.
@TaiwaneseBoi *sigh* Tell me about it. I was born in the eighties and I am thankful that we had one last throw of good, fun music and shows until it all got corrupted.
@synthlab right on. nowadays the kids are different, the music is different, but i feel that this was the best of the best. i guess i am just getting older...
Loved the film, but all I can think of now I hear it is the darn advert that is constantly on :oD Still, great to know that the 70's disco is a hit with quite a few ads, they were the best times!
