@jayneclaireholford yeah! good ! but you can u can still jam huh! see this iz the jimmy jam & terry lewis era! ryte now my woman iz touchin every part of my body! off this song! man stop playin! and get a grip and groooove! peace
@jayneclaireholford You're obviously not a true child of the 80's if you don't appreciate the "stupid sound effects." Flyte Tyme. 1983. Ever heard of it?
This IS just a lot of build up that took away from what the song was originally about: a great funky dance groove. Not their best but it'll pass. "Take Your Time," "The Finest," "High Hopes" (pre-Jam and Lewis still their best)...those are the best. The other stuff like "Tell Me If You Still Care" and "Borrowed Love" was copycat crap. "Sands Of Time" is great though.
@spinradiofm Thanks for watching. 'Tell Me If You Still Care' was one of the band's 1st songs with Jam & Lewis, so it's far from a copy cat. I may agree with you about 'Borrowed Love' though.
@spinradiofm I don't see how "Tell Me If You Still Care" was derivative since it was on the same "On the Rise" album as "Just Be Good to Me." BTW, "High Hopes" was the first Jam & Lewis song they did with The S.O.S. Band.
"For Your Love" was similar to "High Hopes" with the drum breakdown near the beginning and the same uptempo groove. But "High Hopes" still had that Leon Sylvers-type of influence. I'll agree that the extended version of "For Your Love" was overproduced.
Nice mix. If the mix was a duplicate of the original, then it would be futile and redundant. Some people like apples, some apple juice, while other prefer apple sauce. Variety add spice to the flavor. Post oooooon.
Sorry, this remix sucks. They butchered the original groove almost beyond recognition. Now a nine minute remix that kept and riffed off of the original groove that would be something. However, this definitely ain't it.
Wow! I lost my copy of this "Extended Version". Loved the way that Jimmy Jam mixed in "High Hopes" to this track...and at the end, the turntable slowed down, and Jimmy scratched the record....that was hilarious! LOL!
Tr 808 drum machine. Classic sound.

Quality mix. Check out that 808!

You can tell Jimmy & Terry were "New" remixers when they did this...Just a bunch of
video game sound effects mixed in and part dropouts....Kinda Weak when you
compare this to what they would do for Janet Jackson later on....I like the Original Mix.
