1. I liked the style of your review. I liked the bits of trivia, and I liked the fact that you had finished the game yourself and so could speak authoratively about it. I also liked that you gave the facts instead of just opinions.
2. The music sucks. It is *always* irritating, in every single youtube video I've ever watched that uses it, unless it's very much *ambient*. Suggestion: Don't use music in future.
I'd never seen the last level, thanks for showing it!
@MediaFilter Hi mate, thanks for the comments, I do try and include as much info on each game as I can in my reviews. I know some people find it boring but I think its a change to just saying what you think of a game.
The music was just to fill in the quite gap where I ran out of stuff to say... I will take that on board thanks ;o)
Here we go again bashing the St sound chip. Theres nothing wrong with it. Sure it didnt sound as good as amiga, but theres some really excellent chip music on St games and demos. Open mind is whats needed.
I've seen this game on my school mate's Amiga 2000. It was very fun. I've bought a version for my Atari ST. To be honest - the music was (of course) worse on ST (yes, I know, this is very important for some Amiga guys here :-), but the gameplay and the overall feeling was the same. We both (me and my Amiga friend) had a lot of fun with this game and we were exchanging our experiences. We finished this game, of course :-)
Thanks for watching. Yeah it is a fun game, although a little too hard I think?
As for RASTAN thats a game Ive not played before. I have had a look and it is not on the ST but it is on the ZX Spectrum so may review that one day too?
I will defo be doing more ST stuff in the future! Cheers ;o)
interghost , rastan (rastan saga) was an arcade game and it was ported to most systems. seen as how your know about the ST i thought that you would know if there was a port to it or not.
it was along that whole conan/barbarian theme, brilliant music (and on c64 port also).
it SHOULD have been ported to the ST , the amiga never got a port either, shame.
if you are taking review requests , "Daley Thompson's Decathlon" needs some attention lol.
Holy shit i have been trying to remember the name of this game for years you have no idea. I had rick danerous 2 on the speccy and you got a free comic with it. I can now die a happy man. Thanks allot.
No problems, glad to help.. if you watch the end of the review it has the Rick Dangerous comic on there! Hope you subscribed? Cheers for watching! ;o)
back to the spectrum, do you remember a game that was a real precursor to 2nd life where you just had a real life, eg you choose what colour socks to put on in the morning and what to have for breakfast... ooo! ooo! also do you remember a game called something like 'its only rock and roll' where you managed a rock band... was that a speccy or an ST game?
But its only Rock N Roll is a Speccy game and I remember you playing that quite a bit when we were younger so I will look into it for you. Do you remember Rock Star Ate My Hampster on the ST too...?
great to see the st, although i can't remember that particular game, how about 'future wars' or 'another world'?
how about doing a review of a game that was on both the speccy and the st to compare them... something like 'lemmings' would be good for this as it was on loads of platforms.
i see you're planning to branch out for 2009. my gaming experiences evolved from the speccy first to the psx last via the snes...so id be pleased to see any reviews from those three. if you do snes in the near future how about the final fight games, probotector or my personal fave of all time super metroid?
Yeah sure, all three of those are great consoles/computers so will look into them.
As for the SNES there are so many great games on that thing that it will be hard to choose which to do first. Also, the games are a lot bigger so reviewing the will take ages as I will need to complete the game to do a full review! so watch this space! Cheers for supporting me ;o)
Yeah its one of those things isnt it.. ST or Amiga.. just like Spectrum or C64..!
I will be heading back to Speccy reviews too but I also shared the love with the ST when I was growing up so have a few games planned for this one too! Cheers ;o)
Thanks for the comments mate. Yeah I thought the start would be a nice change!
I was a little worried about doing other computers as most people who watch my reviews are Speccy fans, but hey, I hope theres space for all retro platforms? Cheers ;o)
Definitely sympathize with the comment about the difficulty making you want to throw it out of the window, I had this game on the Amiga, it was insanely hard (regardless of platform).
While I really love the Speccy, I liked this review too, even though I never owned a ST. Personally I don't think you should tie yourself to one single computer or console.
Any idea what the title of the piano music is at 1:05? I'm sure it's from a Silent Movie but I'm can't seem to find it.

I loved this on the C64, ST and Amiga. The ST and Amiga versions were more or less identical and had more screens than the 8-bit versions.
I had the comic, too.
That music at the start is from Ghostbusters 2. I played this game at the time of seeing G2 at the flicks!

@wandererlain Correct the song is from GB2... great film ;o)
I had the ST version of the game and loved it back in the day. Cheers for watching ;o)

Yeah I was looking for future wars as I loved that game, but its real hard to find so that will have to wait! Another world is an option though.
This game was on the Spectrum also, but didnt compare them in this review.. its an idea for the future though? Thanks ;o)

Now if you were to review SWOS on the Amiga I may just forgive you for temporarily deserting my favourite and beloved Speccy.
