Hey...this may seem a bit cheesy and dated, especially when compared to today's slick sci-fi fare...but it isn't too bad. Seeing Molly Ringwald and Peter Strauss again was pretty cool...as for the commercials, this movie would pause for them but they weren't shown, so after about 6 seconds the movie resumed.
Definately a sci-fi B movie. It was pretty cheesy but I enjoyed it. One thing wrong though, to many worthless commercials. I would really like to see a movie without the bloody commercials.
NOOOOOOOO!!! it was playing last night and i had to goto bed, now that i have the time to watch this most fantastic film... IT WON'T WORK! *sad panda*
first comment of the year why would you or anybody else need a credit if u dont fill ur heat with it ur heart brings pain and sorrow thinking in prospect i would say no and probable i would aver get rich off that so call goddess of love or saiten i care about them as much as i care about my self meaning probably a 50/50 of a change of getting to know god it self or die self
Great popcorn muncher. Sadly this is the flat (2-D) version. What's cool is the lack of CGI effects and Micheal Ironside buried under a ton of make up. I believe this was Molly Ringwald's first movie. Oddly enough, Demi Moore's first movie was also a 3-D sci-fi flick (Parasite, 1982). There is Field Sequenced 3-D DVD version available at Underground 3-D Cinema. The 3-D version is better.
I'm watching this because I remember as a kid going to see it in the theater. This is the first time I've seen it sense then...I'm about to drink beer. This should be extra fun...I think I remember it being horrible like Ice Pirates.
SHLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But fun shlock
this is almost as bad as 'Alien From L.A.' not much could be worse than that movie, but this definably gets close, however i still love molly ringwald, she just is one of those actress's that has that certain something.
This movie was bad ass! I don't mind the commercials.. I mean its a free movie so who cares.. but it would probably be better if the commercials were varied.. because you start to hate the company for interupting every 10 minutes.
I rember seeing this in theaters in 1983,it was released in 3D,they put out a bunch of low budget movies in 3D back then, another one I rember seeing is MetalStorm The Destrcution of Jared Sin,in 3D too,If I rember correctly.
I rented this on VHS a long time ago and I can remember seeing a parking lot full of cars in the top left corner of the screen at the 4:07 mark when the ship is landing. It appears they have fixed the mistake but look at your copy and see if the mistake is there.

One of the best Sci-Fi B movies of the 80's! I saw it in the theater in 3-D. Too bad they never made any sequels.
