My first impression of your photo of your wife, is that the camera strap got in the way without you noticing. It's bright and out of focus because it's very close to the camera lens.
Since I do not believe in ghosts or the paranormal in general, I look for the most plausible explanation.
I am no expert, but am a real skeptic when it comes to claims such as this.

I notice you are trying to defend the blur. Don't it could be a bug, a piece of dust (orb) in the frame as you were swinging the camera. You can say the camera is stable, but look at the picture... the whole thing is blurred.

all i can say is good work mate, but you kinda killed your own trick i mean, you show us how to use photoshop to add a ghost into a photo, its just as easy to add a blur to a photo as it is a face, and just as easy to add a flare of light as it is a blur, but, in saying that, ghosts are real, wether or not you beleive is a differant story and i say this from experience, its alot better to not beleive in ghosts because when ya do, thats when becomes all to real.
The unexplained blurs looks like an insect flying close to the camera lens to me. Look up flying rods for some example of what digital cameras can produce. Most ghost crap these days is caused by the difference between digital and film.
That blur is not just in the corner. The entire photo has blur. You can see the streaks across the entire thing. Notice the 'mist' has a perfectly straight line across the top.
Know what that is? Something moving reflected across your camera lens or the glass you were behind. It happens. You're taking a picture near a damn street. There's cars, bikes and people moving.
I would come to the same conclusion if I hadn't taken the photo myself. The street was empty. It was just my wife and I, no cars driving by and none parked on my side of the street. I do believe there is a non-paranormal answer, but what it is is anyones guess. Thanks for posting a comment.

all i can say is good work mate, but you kinda killed your own trick i mean, you show us how to use photoshop to add a ghost into a photo, its just as easy to add a blur to a photo as it is a face, and just as easy to add a flare of light as it is a blur, but, in saying that, ghosts are real, wether or not you beleive is a differant story and i say this from experience, its alot better to not beleive in ghosts because when ya do, thats when becomes all to real.

The unexplained blurs looks like an insect flying close to the camera lens to me. Look up flying rods for some example of what digital cameras can produce. Most ghost crap these days is caused by the difference between digital and film.

That blur is not just in the corner. The entire photo has blur. You can see the streaks across the entire thing. Notice the 'mist' has a perfectly straight line across the top.
Know what that is? Something moving reflected across your camera lens or the glass you were behind. It happens. You're taking a picture near a damn street. There's cars, bikes and people moving.
That was a rather obvious debunk.

I would come to the same conclusion if I hadn't taken the photo myself. The street was empty. It was just my wife and I, no cars driving by and none parked on my side of the street. I do believe there is a non-paranormal answer, but what it is is anyones guess. Thanks for posting a comment.

By believing in the person or group presenting the photo. If a group is known to question all "evidence" before showing it to the public and only shows true paranormal events -- no orbs, mist or un-audible EVPs, you can start to believe it's real. Credibility must be established before belief. ~p

I would like to say thank you for this, I've just developed a sudden and intense phobia of seeing a ghost when on my own in the Medieval Castle where I work. It's not helping me at all coz I have to open the place up and clean on my own
I blame the phobia on too many youtube photo montages coupled with my colleages own experiences in the spooky empty building they insist on sharing!
