David Mitchell is definitely someone I would invite to my 'fantasy dinner-party' (where you can invite anyone from any era). He's so witty he makes even Paul Merton look slow on the uptake! Yet he's measured and polite when giving his real opinion about significant things. His bit on youtube somewhere about the heaven and earth show is funny because he's actually saying what's the point of just placating people for the sake of tv? Much better have a proper debate about something!

I agree. This notion everything was brilliant in the 60s/70s and shit now is rubbish.

It's just that it wasn't as commercial with anything back then so you didn't notice the bad as much. There also wasn't as much being made. It wasn't as much of a system.

But The Office, Extras, Peep Show, Curb Your Enhtuasism - All better than sitcoms from the 60's n 70's imo.
