Morrissey and Marr complemented each other so well. The guitarist here does an admirable job, but he isn't on the same level as Marr. Noel Gallegher said once that even Johhny Marr's not as good as Johnny Marr. meaning the studio cuts were so great they coyuldn't be replicated. I'd just like to see Moz and Marr together again as they were the main artistic contributors.
thanks for the correction - no i didn't know that Johnny Marr (of whom i have only the greatest respect and awe) is really John Mayer. instead, i thought the reference was to that rather annoying current musician of the same name. i bow my head in shame...
fuck John Mayer - he was still in diapers when Morrissey was working his magic behind a microphone! they shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath...
Could Morrissey possibly be more of a performer? One of the only contemporary performers that could actually move a man to tears. Just such amazement.
Ahh, it doesn't have the same feeling of the studio version.

Why does everyone keep calling him by his stage name "Morrissey" rather than his true name "God"?

I think he changed the spelling of his name because there was a John Maher in the Buzzcocks.

You do know John Maher is Johnny Marr don't you?
Shows how ignorant you are and how little you know about Morrissey and his musical history.

Love how he simply walks away towards the end of the song. Absolute genius. Brilliant performance of the greatest song ever written.
