  • I can't believe people are hating on this band so much. This album is one of the best straight up metal albums I've heard in a while.

  • DAMN this song needs a tab

  • hahaha i got half of the drum stick from the drummer last night!!! they were great!!

  • w koncu jest miejsce dla gitar :) a ,nie vocalista ktory drze pizde od poczatku po sam koniec utworu :P zajebisty utwor

  • sounds like darkane !

  • If I was still 15 these guys would be my favourite band. Regardless, Im digging this song. Good stuff.

  • core sellout? theres not a single breakdown in the entire song.

  • these vocals are garbage...what a shame, this would be decent metal otherwise, now it just sounds like core sellout....

  • New vocals are awful. Loved the 1st 2 albums, but this is awful

  • What happened to Malefice -.- they went from dawn of reprisal to this shit... -.-

  • @RaffenStein1 i know right??

  • I love you, 1080p !!! <3

  • I like how Mr. Happy and Mr. Sylosis are the top comments :D

  • this is good shit

  • Hell yeah!!!

  • this song makes me want to play fallout.

  • aww man....whats with the vocals :( i loved this band so much but whats the reason for changing the vocals to a typical metalcore scream

  • badass!

  • Man, the vocals killed this song... this band had so much potential in the beginning.

  • @reapsoul964 let me guess u want the same tired ass piggrowling garbage.. get the fuck over it

  • @ap0calyp5e01 No, I don't want pig squeals and static growls. I don't want monotone roars that really lack the anger they are supposed to have. I just want Malefice to go back to when their vocalist was good. I just want to get all of the emo singing out of metal. If this is how Malefice will sound for the rest of their career, they will basically be The Black Dahlia Murder with an emo/hardcore vocalist. Seriously, go listen to Entities. The entire album is incredible compared to this.

  • @reapsoul964 Yea the vocals blow

  • fucking awesome

  • Awful vocals wtf

  • @bringmethecod your awful, n00b.. go suck some suicide silence asshole

  • @ap0calyp5e01 It's a opinion dumass, I love the 1st 2 albums but this one doesn't do anything for me and yes I can't stand the vocals. Get over it

  • Intro riffs are beast!

  • the ending part was just BOOM so fucking badass

  • the singing kind of sounds like mastodon on their older albums

  • wow whoever gets to see sylosis, anterior and malefice are lucky fuckers. i just dream of seeing sylosis in the US :/

  • @Carson7712 They are getting bigger and more well known all the time. I wouldnt be surprised if they do tour America. Ive seen them twice and they were amazing. Seen malefice once supporting anterior in a small gig. And Anterior are my fav band and they live locally to me :D so im lucky there :p

  • @GarethJonesify lucky! lol well sylosis said they are coming to america so i hope they go to austin texas or san antonio texas. at least that is somewhere close to me lol

  • @force39osborn yea people are saying black dahlia buy yea it sounds like if himsa made a comeback

  • Seen these guy's live, amazing night!!!!

  • Sounds cool. Hella sounds like a Black Dahlia riff though

  • DALE " MOTHER FUCKING" BUTLER!

  • damn, bdm just got statutory raped...

  • Love the guitar and all but I think the vocals could use a little work. Overall pretty epic song.

  • This sounds great! regardless who they sound like, if you think the band you're trending to is better, news flash: I don't care.

  • Got really bored of metal like this with screaming etc... but these guys seem to stand out above the mediocrity.

  • Is this album out now in stores? at hmv?

  • I think its only fair that mr.happy is the top rated comment. :D ( hello im mr.happy)

  • This is just constant noise - nothing like the brillance and splendour of "Dawn of Reprisal", which had melodies and such - and therefore I give it a thumbs down.

  • 4:42 to 4:44 has vanished.....

  • Four people obviously don't like being hit in the face with decent music.

  • Sick!!!!

  • it's amazing how anytime a band sounds like another that means they want to be them. fucking grow up.

  • @MrSylosis Dude stop hating, they tour together all the time cause they are from the same area and Sylosis love giving british metal bands some publicity, especially as these guys are actually good...

  • @Parkwaydrive1220 think you are getting wrong end of the stick.. i was having a go at people saying they want to be BDM because there is a slight similarity in this song.. which is a pile of bull. That is all.

  • @MrSylosis Some bands have similar styles but none the same. Never have there been two bands that have played EXACTLY THE SAME song. It's just like saying (and i apologize but turning to horrible mainstream music is the best way i can describe it) Taio Cruise and Justin Bieber sing the same song, i mean there music styles are incredibly similar but only because they are both producing the same genre of music.

  • @Luke95ish Again, I am not saying Malefice and BDM are the same. In reply to the other guy I was having a go at the folks who were saying Malefice are trying to emulate BDM.. which is harsh and not true.

  • @MrSylosis Yeah I know. I'm backing you up.

  • @Luke95ish Apologies I misinterpreted your comment :)

  • THis band wants to be The Black Dahlia Murder so bad they can taste it.

  • @Bigwiggy555 Yeah. Listen to the random pedaltone riffs. Yep. They dream of being BDM

  • @keepinitwolf88 because BDM are the ONLY band that have EVER done that so that must mean that if ANY band does it, they must want to be BDM because BDM are the SICKEST BAND EVAR AND EVERY BAND WANTS TO BE THEM.... fucking hell...

  • @Machinefoot Not really !

  • @Machinefoot Have u listened to dead in the water, and delerium. sounds nothing like the bdm.

  • @ozzyblue14 you obviously didn't sense my sarcasm...

  • @Machinefoot oh sorry didnt know u were responding no keepinitwolf88. it is hard to tell sarcasm when writing it down u know....

  • the metalcore-ish parts of the vocals just reminds me of christian terrible hatebreed kind of bullshit. kinda off putting. especially when the rest is so good and the singer obviously can scream really well.

  • reminds me of TBDM, minus the vocals of course

  • @bennyfrosted I got an advanced promo of the album through the other day, its brain melting!! You'll love it.

  • yeah thanks terrorizer for getting this and toxic holocaust's bitch mixed up -.-

  • I think this is metalcore ripped crossover thrash core with a garnish of NWOBHM and a speckling of black goth grind metal. Clearly. Looking forward to this album - heard their new stuff live and it's awesome. Like the last album though, it's the non-single-released tunes which are gonna be the best.

  • Gay, I liked Malefice for heavy brutal vocals, Not clear KSE ripoff...

  • Is it only me or this sounds alot like the black dahlia murder? Good song tho

  • They need the vocal sound from Entities back...

  • really hate these vocals. It's like he can't be arsed sionging or screaming, it's just crappy sounding yells.. :/ That shit's for hardcore not metal.

  • WHATS HAPPENED TO MALEFICE :< Other songs on the album best make up for this.

  • @MrBoardeh what happened?? they got fucking better thats what happened. i like old malefice but this new shit is amazing.

  • Is this the same vocalist who sang on the song "Risen Through The Ashes"?

  • @MetalDeth777 Yeah. To be honest I could never really stand his old vocals. But the new style suits well.

  • @TheGrawr Well, I was actually talking about the arrangements not the vocals. But still, I agree with your last note, lets just listen to Malefice rip the shit out our souls in the last 45 seconds of this song! Album is going to be intense.

  • I liked it.

  • Can we not talk about genres in music videos. Just listen and appreciate. It doesn't matter what genre it is. Deathcore, Melodic Death Metal, Metalcore, Pop, Rock, whatever... It doesn't matter.

  • @progressivehardcore No offense and I agree with, you but dont even bother, because by that comment you JUST talked about genres in your attempt against it lol.

  • Just putting my own understanding out there to hopefully stop the bickering over who "started" "extreme metal: it was neither TBDM nor Malefice nor Slipknot. In fact, Malefice and TBDM belong to the categories Metalcore and Deathcore respectively, differing mainly in their vocals. Slipknot is Nu Metal. Both metalcore and deathcore actually employ elements of extreme metal but differ in guitar palm muting and strumming techniques. Behemoth, Nile and others like them are closest to extreme metal.

  • @lordzahr TBDM are not deathcore... they're melodic death metal, they have never used breakdowns or pig squeals. and if they did, they didn't frequently, and they don't anymore.

  • @Butsaay True they don't use pig squeals, but their instrumental does fit in the category deathcore. The problem is they also fit into metalcore and melodic death metal. What characteristics would you say makes them specifically melodic death metal? Who else would you say makes up the genre melodic death metal out of curiosity? Side note: pig squeals are not a characteristic of deathcore, some deathcore vocalists have simply used them. JFAC used to but have since moved on and are still deathcore

  • @Butsaay Just adding, JFAC does fit into other categories such as melodic death and metalcore now. Their music simply bears the most resemblance to deathcore, I think at least. Given that both deathcore and metalcore both evolved from an extreme union of death, black and thrash metal and melodic death metal originated from a mix of death and doom metal, I have a hard time placing TBDM, Malefice, or JFAC in the genre melodic death metal. They all seem very set in the metalcore genre to me.

  • @lordzahr JFAC are far beyond metalcore. New JFAC has become death metal. No core added to it. Ruinuation was the album for them to break out of the "core" scene.

  • @Zachross92 Well, that kind of argument goes both ways. In terms of vocals, still death/metalcore. In terms of fills and breakdown arrangements, still one core or the other. In terms of song arrangement and overall tempo, death metal. I won't argue one way or the other about Ruination. I love the album, it's their best work yet, overall 5 star album across the board IMO. That's all.

  • @Butsaay they are not Melodic Death Metal however their subgenre is but they are more of the Progressive Techincale Deathcore. Deathcore does not mean that it has to have breakdowns or pig squeel. if it has any pig squeel it will considered grindcore because of the squeels. and breakdowns have nothing to do with death metal and deathcore because I know pure Death Metal bands and they have breakdowns. the only thing that Death metal does not have breakdowns is old school.

  • @lordzahr A breakdown is where the drums go half time and the the guitaists use sparse open palm muted chugging.this is needed for a band to be metacore. Malefice doesn't do this! The black dahlia murder is not deathcore in the slightest either. They don't have anything resembling a breakdown (or even any elements of hardcore) in their whole backcatalogue (I know, I've got it)

  • @ClearFiend "Black Valor" from TBDM's album Deflorate at about 1:25. That's a breakdown. Although, I won't say it's a straightforward deathcore breakdown because it lacks the triplet/quadruplet palm muted rolls that are common in deathcore breakdowns, it's much more melodic. The more I listen to TBDM and their backcatalogue (which I also have) and Malefice, the more I think they're more death metal than anything, they just bear some characteristics of other genres. That's the way I see it.

  • @ClearFiend We don't care what genre this is and please don't bother trying to "correct" people who mislabel it. Just call it metal and enjoy the music. There's little more annoying to me on YouTube than people attempting to apply very specific labels to bands.

  • @ClearFiend Breakdowns don't make a band hardcore. There are many death metal bands that use them and I've even heard power metal bands incorporate breakdown elements. For a band to be metal/grind/deathcore, they have to incorporate elements of hardcore punk music. Malefice IS metalcore and they DO use a couple of breakdowns here and there, though that means nothing. TBDM is also a core band. Still, both are great bands, so stop arguing about the genre and just listen to the music.

  • @ClearFiend Actually, breakdowns have been around since the earliest forms of jazz. A "Beatdown" is what you just described. All Beatdowns are Breakdowns but not all Breakdowns are Beatdowns. If that makes sense :P

  • Loud, proud and hard as hell.. perfect

  • sounds like a big fat the black dahlia murder ripoff to me.

  • plus the ending is fucking insane

  • this is so different to their old stuff!

  • chorus sounds like darkest hour hard. still like it tho

  • Randomly found this song, and I love it.

  • Verse riff sounds like The Black Dahlia Murder's Statutory Ape

  • @xlxKrisxlx shut up honestly... there were 10,000 bands in the 90s that played riffs like TBDM... I love Black Dahlia Murder but every fucking n000b from here to China thinks they invented extreme metal.... and now I'm going to degrade this thread of comments into a BDM debate... my bad Malefice you guys rule

  • @bce5150 are there really ppl who thing TBDM invented extreme metal? :D i thought slipknot did that xD but seriously, whoever thinks this or that band _invented_ anything should reconsider.

  • @grinfcked I think thats pretty far off. I don`t think slipknot invented that at all. ;O

  • @RikkudoSennin yeah, well, that's why i meant it ironically

  • Comment removed

  • @xlxKrisxlx I was just thinking that

  • We did actually write this song with KSE in mind.... LOL

  • @MaleficeTV Well this is awkward...

  • @MaleficeTV good song guys, im not the biggest fan of hardcore type stuff like this usually but i like this. the cover art is also really sick.

  • @MaleficeTV Why? They suck.

  • A new platter to scoff and live dates to go spastic too. Well done Lads this is immense!

  • Fucking badass, very fucking badass.

  • @ScuzzTV Indeed!!! Hahahah!!

  • Eww, it's like i'm listening to KSE :(, Wtf happened?, Malefice were badass..

  • @Konigi333 Seriously, are you deaf?

  • How the fuck is this like Killswitch Engage?!

Malefice were badass, and still are!

  • SICK AS ALWAYS GUYS KEEP THIS SHIT UP, OH!!!!

  • YAY for Malefice <3 nom, done it again boys, well done!! <3 xXx \m/

  • @MrShimi269 I would have to agree, i think i'm hearing a little bit of black dahlia murder-eyes of thousand, in there too! first time hearing these guys, surely won't be the last!

  • @jimh16 You should get their last 2 albums, they are amazing, the vocals are lighter on this album when compared to the last 2, but an amazing band, I have been a big fan of them for a long time, I wish could see them at Download.

  • Comment removed
