This was the first broadway musical that I saw, but I was only 9 at the time and can only remember the scene where he transforms from beast to human again, and that he was floating in the air :P

How old is this? The costumes changed. The plates are big stiff fabric things the girls have and the spoons and whatnot have changed

This is something Howard Ashman(1950-1991 R.I.P) would've REALLY been proud off! The movie he was lyric writer and executive producer of ended up on Broadway! He would've been happy to see that ALL the songs he and Alan wrote for the movie ended up on stage!

Howard Ashmand and Alan Menkan did a lot of good work for Broadway which where Disney found them.

I'm very sure Alan told the cast and crew that they did a great job and that Howard would've been really proud of them all.

@xvballmccarthyxx Just the show. The original cast is from 1994, they'd be too old to play the parts. They've made some nice changes. They now have gargoyle statues come alive and move the castle sets around and then sit next to them motionless, adds enchantment. Babette(maid/feather duster) wears a MUCH shorter costume which illustrates how much of a flirt she is. When they do,"Be Our Guest", streamers shoot out into the audience at the end of it. It's on tour!

This musical was closed down, but it's BACK! My guess is by popular demand. I recently saw a commercial about it on tv. Some of the costumes look the same, others are slightly different. The sets look nice.

Babette's(the feather duster) costume is very different. She wears a shorter skirt and I mean MUCH shorter! I'd say it matches her being a flirt all the time. I've always thought of her as the most beautiful character in the musical. No offense, Belle.

Such an amazing show! I saw it in Omaha about 10 years ago when they were touring. It was SO breathtaking! I went again when it was here this year, but it was the NETworks presents Disney's Beauty and the Beast. It was disappointing. They took songs out and the magic just wasn't there. They need to bring the REAL Beauty and the Beast back!!!

I saw it for free with my theater group. Belle was played by Christie Carlson Romano. It was amazing. One of the best shows i have seen. After the show we got to meet some of the cast. So much fun :)

Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, and The Lion King are definatly some of the best shows I have ever seen. The latter two need to stay on Broadway for a good long time, and Beauty and the Beast needs to come back. With these three, how can Disney go wrong?
