Was so lucky to have seen It's A Beautiful Day in Daytona Beach, FL, at Peabody Auditorium, back in 1973 (I believe). Bloodrock opened the show. It is one of the best memories of my youth. Patti Santos was gorgeous and (jokingly) invited the whole audience to her hotel room. The place went mad! lol Was very sad to hear of her passing. God bless It's A Beautiful Day.

total of 4 times; twice in the mid-70s with the Bud Cockrell/Greg Bloch/Billy Gregory line up. Twice recently at the Summer of Love Anniv. and the Monterey Pop wing ding. David, you and Linda keep KEEPIN ON. You too, Val. You have inspired me for such a long time. Thanks for the "choice quality stuff" all these years.
It means a lot to me to be able to see the faces of the people who accompanied me through my life. Pity i live so far away from them, or i would certainly try to meet them/him to say "thank you for the music!".
thank-you thank-you from a 55 yr old vinal collector picked up White Bird late one nite on a remote A M station while driving along the Canada US border and since then can't get it out of my head a treasure and highly underrated. peace :)) Milton (fron Canada)
Besides bringing me back to my childhood this video is going to remind me to go get a CD. I was 8 years old when this came out and was into playing accordion and early Hi-Fi and remember this on 7 inch reel-to-reel tape. What is the band's line up in this video? Thanks for this slice of good karma. If a DVD of this is available... count me in.
Wow I was young and dumb back then but this really makes me feel werid this is a song that stays with you, if you were into the time man has time moved on I think i still have some
Sadly, Patti Santos died in an auto accident on 12/14/89 near Geyserville on Highway 128 in California. She went much too soon, much too quickly. She is dearly missed by all of us.
She may have passed but she surely ascended to immortality;just like Chet Helms and Patti Santos, the bird is not gone but soared to higher heights that we cannot see by the naked eye!
When we recorded this in October of '05 we were told that there was going to be some sort of video copy produced to keep "in the archives", so to speak. Unfortunately, this is all we've been able to get our hands on. If we can 'locate' any more footage we'll certainly post it......glad you enjoy it!
I have always loved this song. So peaceful. Brings back many memories of the exciting 60's. Nice to see that David is still aound. Sorry to hear of Patti's passing.

I saw these folks @ Stanford Amphitheater way back in '70-'71
(on acid...lol),
and when they came on stage and started singing this song
the wind started to blow,
and it was like the music was riding on it...
truly a beautiful day!
those kind of moments u never forget...

Had a profound moment in my life, sitting on the floor in an altered state ;) bathed in warm sunshine and this song comes on...
It was surreal, and everytime I hear it I can feel that sunlight...
Is that weird ?

Yes, it's weird. But that's ok.

That is not weird, your memory recorded the physical sensations you were feeling at the time.
