Over the course of 20 years I've tried repeatedly to understand the Vedic description of the structure of the universe, but I just can't grasp it.

I thought Sadaputa Prabhu's movie here would do it, but I'm as confused as ever.

I hope a visit to the Mayapur planetarium will open my perception.

What's with all this guru worship anyway, as if Indians have some special connection to the creator! The Jews are the "chosen" people, all "blacks" are geniuses, etc. etc. etc. what a bunch of bullshit, we all have the ability to progress spiritually in our own way, all these clowns want you to believe is that 'their way" is the best and only way, like the Mahareshi fraud who sold the word "aum" to everyone for 2,000 dollars in the sixties/seventies! Material senses can't comprehend that which existed before the material, so you need one with purified senses to pass the truth down to you. Progress spiritually in your OWN way? Now who thinks they're God? No true gurus claims to be God, strawman arguments are for fools.

Michael Cremo are not a mere historian,he is a diciple of Swami Bhaktivedanta coming in the line of Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Sampradaya,he is very qualified commenting on anything since he is a bhakti yogi and a person crowned with high levels of sumdheasah.

All the slokas in Vedas and Upanishads are highly coded and mere translation is not enough.Your attempt to interpret is excellent.Many idols in Vedic rituals, Vedic traditions do mention the knowledge of cosmology as referral points in divine stimulation as the means to propagate the knowledge. which is the source of greatest experimental repository

@oskamalapurkar An authorised guru should explain the texts to you, not an atheistic scholar. Not that I'm claiming Thompson is an atheistic scholar, I don't know, I am just saying. It says in the Upanisads themselves that one must approach a guru in the succession of the parampara system to properly understand them.

he is probably the most qualified person to reveal the cosmology of the Bhagavata Purana,he is diciple of Bhaktivedanta Swami in the line of Brahma Madhva Gaudia Sampradaya teaching pure Bhagavata Katha.

@Saree3 It is not an ignorant statement as I clearly said I don't know who he is and whether he does or does not hold the necessary qualifications. By Bhakivedanta Swami are you referring to Prabhupada? If so I am impressed and agree with you, that is the divine line of sankirtana teachings DIRECTLY from Sri Mahaprabhu Caitanya, God! Hare Krisna.

@Siva3Enthroned Are you saying that a human being cannot properly understand a system of principles unless he approaches a guru? Are you ABSOLUTELY sure that not a single human being in the entire spectrum of existence is capable of understanding deeper truths without the assistance of a guru? I am not referring to Thompson but inquiring about any human being who is either blocked away from a guru or does not have access to a guru. Can the loving universe be a guide to the Universal truths?

yes according to Shree Krishnas statement in the Gita,where its said:Try to learn the truth by approaching a Guru who has seen the truth.If a soul is very sincere in delving into the mystical esoteric deeper Truths about the Absolute Reality, its compulsory to seek a Guru and serve her or him.

The indvelling Lord Paramatma or the Higher Self in your heart will certainly lead you to such a Guru in some life not far,everybody who has the sincere desire is never left out,

@Siva3Enthroned Thompson was an initiated disciple of Srila Prabhupada. His studies were all done under the authority of Srila Prabhupada hence via the parampara system of the passing of knowledge. His initiated name was Sadaputa Das.
