An absolutely great version, and that's coming from a Jewish Israeli! The translation is very accurate and sounds very good as well (except for switching Maria with Rabbi but I guess it fits Arabic better). My Egyptian is pretty lame but I was able to understand most of the song pretty easily and really enjoyed listening to this version. Well done!
does anyone know where I can find a translation of the Arabic lyrics into English? I know that the translations often change when they translate them...
@OperationAnime262 im muslim and surprised too , im also an arab , but islam and christianity are mostly like each other ..... only a few differences doesn't make a big change.......
@OperationAnime262 because both religions are came from the same one ... the god , mohammed (pbuh) and jesus (pbuh) are both my prophets ,,,, fuck the differences we are all human beings and should be hand -to hand to fight the problems and survive...
I was all set up to not like this. Most of the disney dubs I hear aren't as good as the original but this one did credit to the song Hellfire and the Arabic language. I will definitely listen to this again!
Pretty much he is praying to God rather than Mary and describing how he is suffering because of this. I promise I will try translating it all if you want when I have time.
I don't understand a thing he's saying, but this is well synchronised and the actor himself is (I think) doing a great job too. That must've been difficult, but eh...wow.
If you've seen the English version you'll have a basic idea of what he's saying. The actual translation is different from the original English translation but it's still the same song.
@oo0lNeverLandl0oo I mean how could someone be so disrespectful. I'm Jewish and i'm not prejudice towards arabs or muslim. my god father is from iran and is muslim. i learned to accept people. I find arabic a beautiful language so @thornuvdaath777 needs to sit his ass down.
@oo0lNeverLandl0oo I think ThornUvDaath777 said it because most arabic countries 1)have a strict religion, which condemns other religions 2)basically would see nothing strange in a man who wants to kill a woman because she a)dances free in the streets, and b)doesn't seem eagar to have sex with him and 3)they have a completely different view than other civilizations, with no room for innovations.
The above are just obvious facts, nothing rasistic.
@QueenLilith82 I think you need to update your facts. On a theoratical level sure there are extremists (just like every country and religion) but majority of people (arabic or no) would see something terribly wrong with "a man wanting to kill a woman" full stop. Murder is still outlawed in arabic countries and just because they may be Muslim (by majority) does not mean that they follow stereotypes.
Also I believe the original comment was intended to be humours so can we just laugh??
@phoenix0192 my facts have recently been updated, after my cousin's trip in arab-speaking countries to film a documentary about women's rights. She was treated in an awful way for being a woman, and she had to travel under protection guards, since she was in danger even because she had not her face covered.
Of course, there are brilliant exceptions, but unfortunately, the religion is still a very important factor in those nations' minds.
@ThornUvDaath777 what do you think our kids doing right now ?? playing with bombs ?!!! that what USA needs you to think ... they are just kids and one of there rights to have fun just like your kids ... iam 20 years old now and i still in love with disney movies the new and the old ones
Umm, no, I wouldn't give a shit. Chances are their criticism is legitimate, and if not, who the hell cares?
And no, they did not make the movie Aladdin, Disney did. They may have invented the original story, but I'm sure when the US made it intoa Disney film Arab countries denounced it as just as trashy and evil as the rest of american culture.
What the heck? A movie about a Hunchback, A Christian Priest, and a Gypsy, which takes place in Christian France, with overtones along the lines of The Crucible, in Arabic, which can be partially associated with Islam? Anybody else see any Irony? (No that there's a problem with it, or anything. I just find it a little bit... strange.)
@TheAzureNightmare Well, there are places in the world where muslims aren´t that extremist as you think, and they tolerate christians. Anyway, it´s just a dub so people that speak arabic can understand the movie.
@TheAzureNightmare Well, there are places in the world where muslims aren´t that extremist as you think, and they tolerate christians. Anyway, it´s just a dub so people that speak arabic can understand the movie.
Even in Egypt it's covered in Christian Killers (Though, Egypts the Coolest of all the Arab countries, with it's tollerence - They even had a Christian Governer of one of the Lower Cities - Though i doubt Mubarick was a practising Muslim)
@Rhyden11 Please dont comment before gettign your facts straight, christians existed in Egypt before muslim conquest in 7th century and there are still around 20 million (yep thats right, 20 million) native christians in Egypt, meanwhile in Spain Muslims were fully expelled already by 17th century eventhough Granada was as much an arabic city as Cairo and Baghdad are, now whose the true terrorist?
Egypt has around 8 million Christians and the amount of secretarian violence against them is horrible. Sure they might still be around, but the lack of true tolerance there is pretty sickening.
I've heard a lot of people say this is the best version but, admitably, Follo doesn't sound nearly as tormented in this one. I don't know how to explain it, but it sounds more like he's talking to a counciler than begging for absolution
