I myself not being from Britian would have to say that if someone , perhaps a small child even , was to be taught about the English and their culture , if the small child would of been me I would need to hear a song offered such as this one by miss chapman to help me understand better .
Saw her live in August. She's as good as this and better. She's amazing :) I listen to her album so much, that we have a phrase in our house... "The sainted Leddra". Now everytime they catch me listening to anything else, they ask why I am being unfaithful to the Sainted Leddra. Yes, THAT is how much I listen to her. I love her lyrics, and voice, and EVERYTHING.
I met her 4 years ago as a fledgeling and gave her feedback on her songs and said her style was like Alanisse Morisette. A wonderfully lovely person, down to earth, no ego, no airs or graces. I told her she'd go far as she was a hard worker, talented, and unlike most run of the mill singer/songwriters. Her family support her and she also kept her studies up, and most important of all did it because she enjoyed it, and not to be 'famous'. She deserves her success, and she never will sell out

Shmemilie.... I dont claim to be a singer, but I am entitled to my own opinion and to tell people of my experiences of seeing Anna live... Yes I have seen many bands play live and youre right they are not always perfect but they have had the ability to entertain the crowd. My comment was simply to say that the times I have seen Anna play live her vocals have been a long way off, especially on the high notes & that I found it strange that she suddenly could with a camera in front of her.....
Maybe should lie down now & let everybody say their piece. .. We are very proud to have Leddra play here in March and all places have gone in 36hrs. We recognised her as a big talent 2 years ago. She has a unique voice and a wonderful songwriting talent which is not to be knocked. There are a lot of folk who would like 1/2 of what she is capable of. Videos from our gig will be acoustic and no chance of intervention as we do not have the equipment!!
jenny, You are entitled to your opinion. My experience of seeing Leddra live on stage (twice now), is that within the parameters of live performance, see sings in perfect tune. I saw her before Christmas in Shoreditch, and recently in Camden.
Maybe you saw hwer on bad days, or I on good, but she can most definately sing in tune.
Also, with reference to the TV performance, when artists mime/lip sync, it's patently obvious. She was live.
She's such an amazing singer and seems like a genuinly lovely person. Any false claims about her abilities are a load of shite tbh. I'd be thrilled if i got to see her live.
jumping jeebers..the singing is live and very good - end of :) What more should she do whilst singing on tv - stop halfway through and go "come on everyone, let me see your hands!" ? Leave that to the Britneys! I have seen many bands live, like Genesis, Rush, Yes, and very rarely are/were their performances note-perfect, but you know what? I actually like that. It adds more of a 'human' feel to things, rather than a robotic, faultless perfection of playback or pro Tools.
I find it ridiculous that people are discussing whether she sang live or not - this version is clearly different to anything previously recorded. If you prefer the studio version then fair enough but don't bring what this girl has done in to question just because it's ok to mime after you win x-factor these days. in my opinion anyone who can't sing live should not be considered by a record label, but leddra clearly does.
hahaha.come on now guys - she SANG LIVE! whys that such a shocker? instead of picking faults in it go and see her play a gig! and you will see she is really THIS good. anna doesn't need to mime
So, in all everyone has decided that there is digital enhancment here, but can't decide where it is coming from. All agruements are adding to the fuel that this is not a live performance.
This is so funny. If there was no 'digital' intervention then who was claping through parts of the song? No of the musicians where. Looks like this was recorded and another artist miming on tv, shame.
i've known this girl literally my entire life, she isn't miming, she's just very very good! The clapping is generated by a sample pad that the drummer controls, so even though the clapping's not live, its being controlled by one of the musicians playing there. If you get a chance to see her live, take it, and i guarantee you she will sound as perfect as she does here :)
As a member of a band who has a member who isn't always present for live performances we often record some of his trumpet and brass instrument parts of our songs and it is controlled by a pedal with our secondary guitarist, and samples are chosen from an apple mac laptop and are controlled that way, the band Keane used to (and still do) use a similar system for the bass of their songs when preformed live.
a fantastic vocal and first live TV- Love Leddra she's inspirational. Its the voice and song writing talent that will make her huge. I have seen her live at several London Venues and have to honestly say her vocal is always stunning!!
Csperl, in reply to your comment, I didnt say she wasnt singing live, just that I find it funny that on the occasions I have heard her sing she is unable to hit the notes but can when she is in front of a TV camera!!
In reply to this, regardless of any previous venue you have seen Leddra perform, this is still an utterly great performance. Of course she is going to make sure she performs her best on live television. I think it's ridiculous how the assumption of digital intervention even came into debate.
I saw Leddra in Nottingham a few months ago and Im surprised how she couldnt hit the notes at a live performance but somehow could on "This Morning".....
Absolutely fantastic Anna - well done .. on to bigger things one thinks now. Who would believe you played here at House concerts York nearly 2 years ago ..

Have you never heard of somebody improving Jenny? At age 20, a few months is a long time. I don't suppose you're a singer yourself though......
Nice one Anna - you did a great job. Lotsa luck.

Brilliant performance. Some of the backing is pre-recorded, the vocal is clearly not. Use your ears. She's going to be massive this year.
