  • THANK YOU FOR SOLVING A PROBLEM

  • I'm sorry that you are sprayed or what vayduh

  • Chcesz naprawde wyczyscic laptopa to musisz rozkrecic wiatrak bo za wiatrakiem na radiatorach od cieplowodow jest mnostwo kurzu

  • Это че нах было.

  • Hi, I went to Tesco,s and bought the compressed air can ;I took the covers off ,took the batt. off, shot the air onto the fan the dust came off [4.5years of dust] I put it all back together ;on start up the fan could not be heard! there is now cold air coming from the vents. thr Acer lap top is now much quicker to upload and has has speeded up! Well done and Many Thanks

    Your the Man! Dave.

  • hi, Thank you so much for taking the time to show us how to fix the dust problem in a lap top.

I will but some compressed air to day!

  • my fan's on the side dose that make a difference ?

  • how do u clean one on a gateway computer cause mine's a gateway ?

  • just use a vacuum cleaner xD

  • @TheNicbif Have you ever tried that out?

  • 1:st some laptops require u to dissasseble the whole laptop to get to the fan

2:nd blow the air at the oposite vent (NOT the vent in the video) for more effect

i ussaly dont open it at all, ill just use an aircompressor with 5-7 bar and blow in the back vent (not the 1 under the computer) while the computer is on

  • you might want to find some other shit to do you suck

  • Is this a joke?

  • The child is perfectly suitable for amateurs and for this purpose! This operation is such an inexperienced kid because it does not teach others to be big problems. What the kids do not do it for professional cleaning fan! This is a joke! :D :D

  • Unscrew the hole fan from CPU clean everything whit cleaning Stick+alcohol put new cooling paste and put fan back

!!! You do not need to remove the CPU on this modell !!!

  • Lol, nerds

  • @Zipparin and without all nerds in the world they wouldn't be any repair work :P no computer at all! no electricity, no internet, :D so don't underestimate the Power of nerds!!!

  • @Zipparin better to be a nerd, than nothing

  • @Multi0mg Fuck yea!!

  • Пылесосом его, пылесосом!!!

  • you've just pushed the dust more into the lap top ;p thats not cleaning , its dust spreadin

  • @spiritbringer No he didn't, the air pushed the dust inside and from there out of the holes on the back and (on mine) the sides. and if you saw the end of the video, you saw that a lot of the dust was on the screen, so how could it still be inside if you saw it flying around?

  • How to clean your laptop

  • This way you don't clean the fan INTERNALLY, where is the MAJOR problem.

You need to unscrew the fan from the motherboard AND THEN unscrew the cover of the fan.

What you'll find inside the fan's case is the real problem and this air spray CAN'T do anything about it.

What you do is good if you do it everyday or every other day. Once dust starts gathering up in the fan's case, spraying can't do anything...

  • @franknwalters which one is the cover of the fan?

  • @kickmyask82

The cover of the fan is the plastic black case the fan lies in it, as you see it here-------> 4:08.

Remove the screws that holds the fan's case (& the fan of course) on the processor & the graphics card & then open the fan's case (screws probably on it too) & you can see your enemy... DUST.

BUT, you'll need to 1st clean carefully the contacts on the CPU, the graphics card & the heatsink AND cover them again with fresh thermal grease paste BEFORE you screw the fan on them again...

  • @kickmyask82

... but I think I found an easier way to clean it. I just don't know yet if it's safe...

I DIDN"T remove not one screw from the laptop.

I took the vacuum & put it where the fan "breath's" from AND to where the fan's air usually goes out, I sprayed with the compressed air.

The result was beyond expectations. My laptop started operating normally again !

I've done this three or four times the last mounth with no negative results on the fan.

    Still I don't say it's safe...

  • @franknwalters thank you very much for the information. i dont get it though, i dont know which is what and etc.. i have never opened any laptop/computer before.. but probably i'll just try to open and clean it. hahaha.

  • @franknwalters Then wtf can you do instead of spraying at the fan? Instead of saying this is wrong, tell us the solution.

  • @Pesh01

You don't have to be rude man.

If you see two-three comments bellow I wrote what I did instead of what you see in the video.

I wrote the right way AND what I did...

The rest is up to you.

  • @franknwalters I have no idea what your saying

  • @MrSatternJr

    Just how to explain it?

What I tried to do was to reverse the air flow in the fan's case in order to pull out the dust that stucks in there.

So I took the vacuum's pipe & put it under the laptop at the window where the fan sucks air. At the same time I was spraying inside with compressed air the where air usually comes out (that's at the left of the laptop).

I reversed the air flow pulling out the dust (with the laptop off of course). All of it I believe...

    You got it now?

  • @MrSatternJr

I have to say again that I don't know how safe this is.

I've done this on my laptop 5 or 6 times with no negative results on the fan on anything else.

Still if you decide to do it, it's your own decision considering the risk...

  • will it help if i have a q tip instead

  • Not doing anything. This is only effective if it is clean.

  • So of i use a vacuum cleaner do u need to open my pc i have compaq presario cq61 and u can see the dust so im not sure ... Im New to this

  • The CPU of desk top or lap top fan can also be cleaned very well by sucking the dust using a vacuum machine without removing the cover and related risk of damage

    skhouli

  • I was always taught that blowing compressed air into a computer was bad. Running a mini vacuum over it works better as you're not blowing dust about and into delicate areas. ALSO blowing it into the fan is a bad, BAD idea as it can cause it to overspin an damage those components.

Go for a mini vacuum instead. Use the compressed air [at angles] for keyboards.

  • I clean my ibm with water and unmount with the screwdriver 40!

  • Comment removed

  • @MrTheNigo fucking noob you don't use a vacuum on a computer and you don't even run a risk by opening that panel on the bottom so stfu. :D

  • @TheDrNate Actually u risk ur laptop if u arent so good with computers. Opening the panel u can broke ur computer easily. yea and allmost every one use vacuum cleaner or mini vacuum cleaner for computers, so u shut the fuck up and broke ur computer!

  • @MrTheNigo haha i just took one panel off sprayed the fan with air and screwed it back on how the fuck could i possible break it and no one uses a fucking vaccum to clean a laptop dumbfuck

  • I wish my HP dv6000 was this easy to take apart!! its 4 yrs old & making a really LOUD noise.

    I HATE HP....utter CRAP!

  • @ammaretto ok dude your fucking stuped hp is top of the line and maybe it time for a new computer so buy a new computer and shut the fuck up ok

  • @deathdouglas1 thanks brainiac...HP is NOTORIOUS for over heating....they have recalled batterys & adapters for starters. google it...oh & its spelled S-T-O-O-P-I-D

  • thats what i said is just for home cleaning if u arent sure u have to go to repair shop they are smarter and better with comps!

  • Comment removed

  • 2! Then take ur vacuum cleaner and do short pulling with ur vacuum cleaner and it will suck the dust inside ur comp... I hope this helped u and if u have something to ask u can send the mesage to me! but that guy fail i didnt see any vacuum cleaner and now the dust is still inside the comp. I didint watch the whole vid! srry :D

  • @MrTheNigo Fuck off! That's the noobiest thing I've ever heard! You can't use a vacum cleaner on a computer!

  • @diegodaudt yes you can, you just have to let it sit for a while otherwise static can hurt your comp.

  • @MrTheNigo

Good advise. My laptop is three years old and I routinely vacuum the fan intake with a small shop vac. Takes a minute and you can see in the first few seconds all the dust exit the fan. No need to take it apart. Runs like new every time.

  • I had a problem wit ma comp and HP(hewlet packard) helped me and then I asked how I can clean my computer. First take ur compressed air (dont open anything and specially u dont need screwdriver) well blow the air to the computer fan, u can see the holes side the computer etc... just carefully blow ur air to the fan but be carefull, u should only do short time blows or ur computers fan could break! Second step! the dust is off but its still in ur fan and inside the computer...

  • tank you for da help

  • Im not sure why you made this video, what you did wasnt that good of a cleaning. If people are having problems, take it to a professional. You have to remove the fans and other components, to really clean out blocked airflow. Also NEVER shake the can of air, NEVER 'just snap it in even if it crunches', and for christ sake next time put on some cloths.

  • so basically, screw and spray?

just like i do to my gf

  • @rudiz90 that was lame

  • it looks easy because of your laptops down part mine isnt so easy to open and clean...

  • First of all, you shouldn't be trying to spray dust in your room? Take it outside! Otherwise you're breathing that shit. Secondly, blowing air in the direction of the fan will do nothing to clear the dust. It has to be blown in the opposite direction. The best thing is to remove the fan so that you can physically remove the blanket of dust that builds up. What you did was useless. But thanks for trying.

  • I clean mine with the vacuum ! And I Have a question ?!?? Why does my laptop (acer ) ceep shuting down when I play games with HQ and stuff !? I use a fan to cool the laptop but shit it keeps fucking with me ! Can You Help ME PLS !

  • i dont think this guy knows what he's doing... fyi dont shake the can dumb ass. (the can says so)

  • K can u buy the air compressed can thing in Candace BC ?

  • yea spin the fan some more i hear its good for the motherboard. (-.-)

  • Thats because you SHOOK IT! READ THE CAN, IT SAYS DO NOT SHAKE!

  • Is it possible to do this by just spraying into the vents?

  • @OllieSaer4983 no. because the fan isn't built to spin in that way, so you, in effect, damage the fan. You also just push the dust around inside the case, which makes it very ineffective.

  • ty

  • And you finish the can compressed air for cleaning your bed I suppose...?

  • i wish it was always that easy, i had to do something like that with my wife's emachine e725. to get to the fan you have to take it completely apart keyboard, monitor (and everything you can imagine) and then take the case apart and unscrew the board. then you can finally get to the fan. needless to say, i put fresh compound on while i was in there. kinda oversimplifying it.

  • @rhblakeman the video IS called how to clean laptop fans. not how to stop it heating up.

  • ok. *turns it off* now what........ hello?

  • my laptop turns off for games

  • @uwijayaweera dude laptop arent for games my laptops always stop or shutdown cause of overheating and the overheating is caused by dust in the fan so just clean the fan and it will work fine.

  • @uzair1116 i know!!!!

  • @uzair1116 i know that! my laptop dosent overheat. it overheats when i watch a video on windows media player and when playing a 3d game.

  • @uwijayaweera that shouldent happen man

  • @uwijayaweera support the back with 2 cd boxes like i did until yesterday, now i have a cooling pad :)

  • @uwijayaweera my too help!!

  • @uwijayaweera u have to tune your fan speeds ;)

  • You know that this video could be made less than 2 mins.

    P.S. Editing man, editing.

  • Is it the same for Dell Vostro?

  • Thank u soooooo much :)

  • Nice

  • You joking me you need compresor on oil station

  • he is naked???

  • you dont need to hold the fan when you spray it? so you dont fuk it?

  • You should put new TERMO PAST on processor/graphic card. And manual clean the fan. Video its weak.... dislike !

  • IF its a HP laptop they just suck over heating. If u got a air compressor just use it and shoot air in all the side vents tilting it down. Can of air doesn't do dick it doesn't get the dust bunnies out.

  • You shouldn't do it indoors, it kind of defeats the whole purpose cause the dust still stays in the room, you want to get rid of it completely

  • What about all the fuzz that collects at the rear VENT?

It's not called a fan doofus. The slots are called vents.

A can of air is not going to keep the laptop clean forever. The heatsink and fan will have to be removed to get to the more serious problem.

  • LOL, I can't see a fucking difference...

  • my dell laptop doesn't have a direct access panel that sucks

but i'll try that air canistor idea

  • You saved me the cost of a service call - thanks so much

  • I clean my asus every 6 months... i buy it january2009 bu it look like new and very healthy

  • My panel around fan have no screws >.>waht can I do ?

  • Can I just blow in into the fan using my mouth?

  • @Nosole123 i suggest you take the pc apart(without removing the heat sinks from the processors) and use a vacuum, because this guy is doing next to nothing

  • @Nosole123 i really enjoy blowing things using my mouth.

  • @lyaxx lol

  • I think I would disagree using compressed air due to humidity in the air meaning you would be spraying water on all of your fans and motherboard.

  • Very informative and thanks for mentioning about the up-side down compressed air stuff, really helpful :)

  • Wow if it was this easy I wouldn't be in business repairing laptops. Blind leading the blind like most of the noob videos on YT. First you have no idea that most laptops have no access door, you have to tear them down. The fan is not the problem but the fuzz that collects past the fan in the cooler fins hidden under the rear plastic on yours. Also the flat copper pipe from the CPU and GPU transfer the heat and can loose the cooling gas inside and not transfer the heat to the fins.

  • @rhblakeman heat tubes have gas? i thought they wer just copper tubes

  • @borderlineartistic More specifically the tubing, known as the heat pipe, has both a conductive gas and strands of a heat conductive metal or fiber inside. No gas no conduction. Search "heat pipe" on wikipedia and it will describe the makeup. When I worked the Toshiba depot in 2006 we had maybe 1 of 6 heat problems that ended up as a bad heat pipe. I use a IR thermometer to read the heat at the exchanger end vs the sink side to see if heat is transferred. If not bad heat pipe

  • And it's not like a thermocouple in a furnace, oven or water heater. That allows a gas to expand in a closed bulb and tubing to push on a control. In a heat pipe it uses the gas inside to conduct and transfer the heat.

  • @rhblakeman hey thats pretty cool. does the gas have any smell? i cut one open just a few days ago so i could scrap the copper and didnt notice a smell. I did notice that it looked different than normal solid copped on the inside but i didnt think much of it at the time. thanks for the quick reply btw.

  • @borderlineartistic Depends on the gas or liquid used. Some have no smell, most are non-hazardous. It's a copper tube flattened, filled then sealed on the end, similar to a bulb.

  • @rhblakeman Hi man :) Just like you said, my laptop has no access door to my fan compartment. My laptop has been getting very hot lately and shutting itself down. Shall i go to a computer repair shop? Also do you know how much they will charge as you said you work in repairing laptops buisness. Cheers :)

  • @ThomiasDoesVLOGs Every shop has different prices in different areas. I get a flat $45 (one hour bench labor) to tear it down, clean (and replace the fan if sticking but I add the cost of the fan to the labor) test and reassemble. Takes (me) about 20 mins to tear down, clean and reassemble but then the testing takes the remainder of the hour. Your symptoms sound exactly like a plugged cooler. If it's a Dell or HP the teardown manuals are usually with manuals on the support site

  • @rhblakeman Thanks man :) Im taking mine in on thursday :) The laptop is a acer aspire and it looks like you have to tear it all down to get to the fan.

  • Comment removed

  • is there any vid of how to clean 2006 macbook pro fan? my fan keeps running and my mbp is hot.

  • @poiiihy You might check with justmanualsdotcom and see if he has the maintenance manual for your machine. Costs a few bucks but saves lots later if you feel you can do the work carefully and properly. If you don't really have the will and skill to open it and get it back together then find an Apple certified shop, or one that works on Mac. I work on them but not Apple certified but then I'm not doing warranty service.

  • i have no opening in my laptop i have a HP DM1 3200SD AMD=350E great prossesor fore a netbook i use before a intel atom its crap

  • And what you gonna wanna do...:D

  • The fan will get dusty, but i'm sure you will find that its the rad block fins that will fill with dust and cause poor air flow??

  • lol when you took the battery out, it sounded like you were reloading ammo onto a machine gun.

  • Really bloated video for such a simple thing to do

  • @RomanEmpireHealed Agree with you, this is a superficial cleaning nothing more.. If you what to completly clean the fan u have to clean the "carpet" of dust that is formed between the fan and the heatsink, and for that i use a brush and u have to disasemble the fan from the heatsink!

  • sigh my laptop is pissing me of i did that more than 3 times today still my cpu keeps being a biotch >:(

  • nice one

  • I tried doing this step by step while watching... MY COMPUTER TURNED OFF!!

  • 1@SeventhDisaster it overheated!

  • @SeventhDisaster LMFAO

  • @RomanEmpireHealed why is your dust moldy? I agree with everything else

  • if you use blower the dust will get into the electricals and may destroy it.

why take risk?unless you are not a pro like this person its better not to do it by ourselves...

go to the nearest computer service center.the professionals will do it.

  • @niyazmather they do the same thing, stupid.

  • i think its gonna be hard to watch the video at the same time i take my battery out.. !

  • OMG 1.31 sounds like ur reloading a gun

  • Really helped, thanks alot

  • oh yes i just found this video randomly by the way but you dont clean a fan in a desktop or a laptop anyday with compressed air because if you use compressed air it just blows the dust further into the parts of the machine and you have a higher chance of failure if you do so the best way to do is to use a vaccum

  • bad panel design...

  • I know water is bad for my laptop, but couldn't I send it to the dry cleaners ?

  • @MrEntelechy1 no.

  • @rockeeben - There was no need to get all technical and pedantic about it I only asked a simple question.

  • @MrEntelechy1 i said no :/ that wasnt technical was it? and come on have common sense dont take it to the dry cleaner.

  • @rockeeben - Okay I surrender ! For future reference however, and for your benefit, might I refer you to the word 'facetious'

  • @MrEntelechy1 haha.

  • reduced 40ºc from my CPU's temperature :)

  • see: dust-off.com/gaming-applications for guide for cleaning fans on computers and laptop.

    or

    dust-off.com/heat-build-up-can-happen-quickly

  • will an air horn do the trick?

  • An compressed container that sprays just air? Now THAT is one big middle finger to the environment.

  • This is a very bad idea first to open any computer without grounding yourself and using the right tools to open the laptop, can send a static discharge to your computer. Second, 99.9% of the time the fan is clean and the heat sink is what gets dirty. It does not matter if you clean the fan and the heat sink is dirty. The heat sink sits on top of the processor and heat transfers to it and the fan cools the heat sink. Third I never use compressed air on non removable parts, Liquid is very bad.

  • try to use a stand for your camera next time! it would help you have nice video !

  • cleaning up Dell's fan is easy. how about another brands?

  • T.L;D.W.

  • Comment removed

  • Where do you open the bottem on a Toshiba Satellite L300D?

  • does not make sense to use compressed air. All the dust goes into the fan. and begins to consume the end of the bearing. I use a vacuum cleaner. fan attached to prevent it from turning while you keep the machine attached to the frame. which should not be a static shock

  • some1 remove this video from youtube. all this guys is doing is to teatch you how to fuck up ur computer. As u can see, when he applys the compressed air, the fan rotates, and when its about to stop u can see the magnets working fine (like there is nothing blocking the rotation) so it means everything is alright with the fan, like in most of the cases is. The problem with overheating is 99% of the time in the inside part of the heat skin, its like a dense dust wall preventing the air to pass.

  • with that block, the computer gets higer temperature, and the board rises the voltage of the cooler in order to try get it cool, but since the air flow is blocked by the dust on the heat skin, what might happen is that ur computer will turn off instantly, this is normal, its like a defense system trying to protect your laptops hardware (graphic card and CPU). what this guy is doing is so stupid, look at 4:30, with the pressured air, he is putting dust to the inside of computer...

  • can somebody tell me whats the screwdriver size

    ?? -.-

  • the expert said u need to stop the fan from spinning when spraying compressed air. :S is that right?

  • i saw you naked I0I

  • i want to clean my pc but his still has warrantee and it has a sticker when i try to open the sticker will tear apart and i think what if this happens or that

  • bad idea

    1. moisture from condensation

    2. dust gets deeper.

    3. damage from the force of compress air

i recommend using a vacuum cleaner with brush head attachment. my 2 cents. hope it helps

  • @EcoDimension That's an even worse idea... unless you are using a special vacuum that is designed for electronics.

Motors in standard home vacuum cleaners often cause static buildup. If it discharges through your brush head you can zap ICs in the computer. When you see technicians using vacuums they are specially made with static-free motors. They are available, but expensive. Better to stick to compressed air... it's what the pros use.

  • @djcsr hmm... use a vac that is grounded

  • Ok, i have a latpop for over a year now, but i never cleaned the fan. For a couple of weeks my fan has been producing really loud noises but im afraid to open up my laptop and clean it becouse i could brake something... do you think its just the dust or a greater problem?

  • how to clean a bed?

  • @p0p0s AAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA hahahahhahahah omfg i haven't laughed so hard in weeks ahhahhahaha

  • i just unscrew the pc's plasitc parts and then unscrew the fan and use q-tips to clean it it works ^^

  • my gawd buy a compressor D:

  • nice bro

  • How much is a compressed air ?

  • @xoxMaRjOrIexox About $10-$15

  • where you half naked when you filmed this?

  • @Alexrulz99 You fag.
