  • they are just putting lower and higher notes but not louder i skipped some parts in the vid thay were different notes

  • Lennon had a beer belly? NOT!

  • aaaargh! bart dosent have shoes on!

  • What?

  • CRAZY

  • Now here's another clue to impart.

    The Walrus was Bart.

  • @0hNoNotHimAgain whats that got to do with the crazy audio?

  • @freetobeloveable Nothing. It has to do with the Abbey Road parody. As richardpaoloasuncion said, "it's a Beatles thing." Interesting audio illusion though.

  • NOW I GET IT!!! IT'S THE BASS!!!! the treble and the bass!! once the bass gets high enough it ends up turing into the the treble! the high notes. lol omg! i got it! right?!

  • Excelent.

  • what has THAT...... got to do with the simpsons?

    Retards...

  • keeps going up

    sing with it

  • i dotn get it.

  • i dont get it!

  • @WillowTreeHair

it is really just looping but wat we here is the pitch getting higher and higher

  • well hey i wouldn't do that for this video

  • I know what your felling. Some jerks put like a scary pic at the end. Jackasses

  • All I know is that I have a horrible sense of unease when I watch this

  • thats cool but i can control it lol..i can hear it all the same or getting higher..:D

  • its the same noise replayed, the ilusion is that you think it creeps up but its the same sound over and over

  • whats the illusion?

  • yeah... i really dont get what that was surpose 2 do coz nuffin happrns?!

    that noise just annoyed me,.

  • Lol, i can control it. If i want to, I can reset it back to the first octave in my head. And i hear it that way.

  • yer, in know what you mean, if you concentrate it doesn't work.

  • What the hell?

    I'm freaking out here..

  • why the beatles picture????

  • Shepard's paradox.

  • amazing!

  • polybius!

  • was soll daran so toll sein ?

  • sticky

  • lol this is funny.. made me really confused :D

  • If you think it's fake then you can look at other versions. It's the same sound, but you just replay it yourself so you know it's not the user that just made it louder or higher, because it's the same tune and pitch repeating itself.

  • Correct me if im wrong, but isn't the idea behind it the fact it sounds like the pitch is getting higher and higher when really its just looping over and over?

  • you are right that's what i was doing for this video.

  • thank you!!!

  • @KamiKaziChicken See Shepard tone.

  • i didnt really get the point of the video

but wat i did get is that the sound isnt getting any lounder

ur brain just makes u think its getting louder but it isnt really...

  • that's what i was doing for this video.

  • the sound keeps going higher

  • its not getting louder. with music theres 2 stets treble and bass. with this certain sound the trebble and bass keep changin so your brain is basicly getting confused. Nvm ITS SO GOD DANG CONFUSING TO EXPLAIN

  • ur right; basically, at the same time there is a low and a high; so, when we first hear it we hear one set of pitches, and when it starts over we hear that the first high must be higher than the last low-- i think... i.e., each "dun dun" is a harmony... right? maybe? kind of?

  • anyone who wonders how it works, its the exact same tone but it keeps getting louder (i think) lol

  • I doesn't get louder. Your brain makes you think it does.

  • it sounds like S:

  • That is why it is called an audio illusion.

  • you should listen to this video (remember the last note) and replay it. then you can hear the sound again from the last note you heared. its amazing!

  • i dont get it

  • its getting quicker

  • sounds like its getting higher

  • WOW cool

  • ok so i wasnt really sure what i was suppossed to do here but i stared at marges hair throughout the entire thing and it looks like if all of them were walking in their same spot...dat was teippy!! im not sure that suppossed to happen but it still did lol

  • haha. your most def. high.

  • i get that thats nice it sounds like its gettin higher but its not

  • it sounds like its changing pitch but realy its the same 1 from the start

  • bart isnt wearing shoes

  • lol

  • @itschinese its a beatles thing

  • @itschinese neither was Paul

  • AWESOME`

  • what?

  • its suppose 2 sound like it keeps goin higher and higher pitched

  • wait???what????was that suppose 2 do somthin??????

  • The sound seems to be higher and higher pitched but actually is the same sound sequence playing over and over.

  • I DONT GET IT

  • I got to admit I thought the keys were changing lol.

But I wonder if the sequence changes in the middle to a completely different key in the end. Letting you feel aware that the first sequence was in this key, and the second one being played is obviously different, when rationaly you should feel that if it is going up higher in the pitch of C, it should end in the same Key. Koo video. Man I'm bored -_-.

  • Its really all two sounds in one, making a chord and ending on the same one at the end of the cycle. Apparently if played end to end over and over its "impossible" to tell where it begins

  • I believe he is saying that the sequence of notes being played are actually the same key.

When the sequence stops it replays, but this time, upon hearing the first sequence, You lost recognition of the first cord, due to the lack of memory and emotional interest, now affected by the previous notes. The notes being replayed now sound like they are in a different key.

LIke BBBBBBB and then CCCCCCC, when infact,(I spose he is saying) that they are all BBBBBBBBBB, BBBBBBBBBB, BBBBBBBB.

  • its a keuboard

  • the first 2 notes and last 2 notes are the exactly the same

  • it's the same one over again, but it sounds like it keeps on escalating, the notes are so mixed and distorted that it seems like it keeps going up

  • watched it 4 times and i still dont get it whats it all about

  • there's better ones in related.

  • haha doesnt work to jump in the video! so cool

  • SSHHITT! this works... try to jump into random places i the video..

  • It's not fake... I heard the same thing in a different video that you have to replay to get the effect. Yeah, it's pretty cool.

  • thats pretty cool

  • holy shit!!!

  • OH sooooooooo what

  • oh my god that is so amazing (Not sargastic)

  • when will americans learn to get the difference between austria and austrialia

  • yeh i reckon, school up americans

  • @rockbizz wait what does that got to do with this video?

  • @rockbizz You spelled Australia wrong :P

  • @rockbizz ask the french

  • holy shit

guys close your eyes when you hear it all the way til the end its fucking amazing

  • whoa

  • nothing like happen DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I really don't get it!!!!!

  • laaaaaaame!!!

  • How is this video lame? You are an ignorant fool, and Australia seems to be full of them, unfortunately.

  • ummm no offence dickwad, but not all australians a like him, besides, look at his profile carefully, he's from austria... so dont go bitching about australians like that. thats unaustralian

  • ??????? ??? ? ? ?? ???

  • what? what is this about?

    i don't get it.

  • try watching it 2 or 3 times and you will get it

  • i dont get wat this hole shit about. neahh

  • not fake

  • i do not :(

  • fake!!!!

  • no mate,, u think its going up but really its not,, its same one replayed over and over again, try listening to the ones that only do it once and u have to restart it urself,, u will hear same thing.

  • an illusion IS fake...it's supposed to trick you >_>

  • its fake... click all around the time bar.. the sounds are all different

  • is the sound supposed to grow

  • weird 0.0

  • if you listen really good you will here it also no replay software required it is not fake!!!!! you only need to listen carefully

  • LROFGGR

  • download Audacity and record this then play it in a loop

    then you'll get it

  • thats actually really cool, i get it

  • i dont get it

  • i did not get it god

  • pretty cool... i only realized it wus a loop of the audio after like the third one

  • why the simpsons

  • ahhh i jushed re-refreshed it it won't go back to low!!!!!!!!!!! ahhh im freaked out

  • it keep getting higher no maney times as i hear it it goes higher and higher :'( im scared

  • thie 1st sounds lowest and the last sounds highest but they're the same audio clip.

to test if it's real (and it is) play the last sound at 1:02

and then go back and play the first sound at 0:08

If the first one sounds higher than the last one, it's an illusion.

  • did any of u notice bart dosnt have is shoes on? nice anyway! =D

  • lol homer has sumting 2 do wid dat lol

  • now i have!

  • explanatiom (spoiler): it the many lots of notes being played altogether and you get used to it so it keeps gtting higher like you cant focuse on all the same notes at the same time it is like dominoes. if you read this, sorry i spoiled it for you!

  • If you pause the video, leave for 5 minutes, and come back, it's still as high-pitched as before.

    Fake, unfortunately.

  • its not fake dumb fuck. Listen until the very end, and then go back to the beginning of the video, it still gets higher. So stfu. Dumbass. Your stupid, unfortunately for your country.

  • wtf is it going high or not !

  • no, it is not, it's recylcing thru a circle of sound, if played right, it will always get "higher", when it acually goes higher, then lower

  • Lol awsome!

To the ones that don't get it he's playing the same clip but it sounds like it gets higher eachtime but really it isn't =]

  • well im speachless

  • i dont get itt ! ?? !?!

  • its just being replayed.

i was consintrating on the simpsons picture lol i thought that was gonna be the optical illusion :(

  • lol yeah me too!

  • it coz of the octives

  • OMG i had no idea it was da same notez*** DAMN!~

  • its the same notes its just sounds like its getting higher your brain is tricked

  • wtf????? i have no idea wats goin on

  • its a barberpole... THey used the same type of effect for Batmans bibke in the Dark Knight in order to give the bike the sound of it constantly accelerating..

  • and also burnout paradise lol.

  • I think the sound it is making each time has two sounds playing at the exact same time.

When they play it again your ears change and let you listen to the higher pitch in the background.

    This is awesome.

  • Awsome??????? Are you for real?

  • what a tool ......

  • i don't understand :S

    hahahhaha!!

    really... :S

  • that was LAME!!!!!

  • no its not i tried it, you increased the pitch. i played the first one over and over again and it wasnt getting higher

  • its not, your ears adjust to the higher pitches as it is played higher, then when you go back to the first chord, you hear the higher part of it.

  • That's not the point. The point is after each sequence, the pitch keeps getting higher. So after 1 sequence finished, he played another set, which is has the exact same audio and progression, but still sounds like it's ascending.

  • wats supposed to happen

  • the tone is supposed to increase.

  • lol wtf awsome

    -hero

  • Non hey vous etes cons lol (le gars joue 2 note et la premierre note est toujours la meme , seulement la deuxieme note change donc en la repassant on crois l'entendre de plus en plus aigue mais non sa change)

  • what are you saying?

  • it sound the same like each time.

  • i thought that scary maze game face would jump out at ya

  • lol

  • Crazy sound illusion? Meaning its supposed to make you go crazy & get a headache? huh?

  • In musical terms, we are playing a note that covers an ovtave. This note is then stepped up to the next musical note. After it has stepped up all 12 semitones of the octave, then it repeats itself since the octave is actually two notes doubled anyway. (i.e. A-440 Hz and A-880 Hz) Similar to playing every note in a musical scale. (Ask a piano tuner he can explain it.)

  • agree with you :)

  • huh ? wts supposed to happen?

  • its meant to sound like the notes are getting higher when infact its the same note being played over and over.

  • i dont get it?!

  • he's playing the same audio 6 times in a row but it sounds like it keeps going up

  • its meant to sound like the notes are getting higher when infact its the same note being played over and over.

  • lol it sounds like the first one =/

  • But if you take 2 notes and record yourself playing them, and replay again and again, it seems like you start to confuse which of the two notes was the beginning. Same concept, say tell me tell me tell me,again and again, soon it will sound like me tell me tell me tell. its weird i saw this stuff somewhere, but i cant make up my mind in this comment.lol

  • Wait. go 0:12, 0:56,0:15..it goes lowest highest middle, and reapeat. it is always in that order. or you can mix it up the pitches are still different.

  • 0:56,and 0:15 its weird because when i play them one after another the first one is higher.

But when i play it from the very beginning at 12, it sounds lower than at 0:56

  • ahh its giving me a headache lol

  • looks like they get biger

  • Yes, the people walking DO appear to be getting bigger from left to right. XD

  • thats funny right there

  • no it wasnt awesome. it was stupid

  • y the simpsons pic?

  • all i saw was that bart was wearing no shoes... and that i got scared i thoght my lap top eas going to blow up

  • no its not, look up "audio illusion trick your brain" and it will ask you to replay it and when you do it sounds like its getting higher still

  • each time the sequence restarts it sounds like it's starting on a higher pitch but it's actually the same as the first sequence of notes

  • NO....ITS A FAKE... and i can prove it... if you start the vid in the middle it will be a high pitch noise.....therefore the sound isnt actually getting higher its the audio not ur brain

  • ok breath..breath.. count to ten.. push.. one more pushh.. CALM THE FUCK DOWN. and no, its not fake, its a real illusion

  • yes, it isnt a fake. just replay the first one, there is the same effect

  • it's beginning to sound higher pitched because you already heard it before, therefore the illusion actually worked

  • what its supose to do?

  • It's actually just replaying, but it sounds like it's getting higher.

  • it just got me really nervous and tense!! is that what its supposed to do?! lol

  • It sounds like it is getting higher and higher but it is actually just replaying.
