I was in New Orleans a couple of years ago - after Katrina - and had the amazing chance to see a real funeral walking along a street crossing Bourbon Street, with the band playing this music, and the family of the dead crying behind. It was incredible!
I imagine this is on the shores of Lake Ponchetrain. This tune was big in Dallas/Fort Worth in the early 1960's with a locally produced show for KTVT-11. Featuring "Ickey Twerp", called "Slam Bang Theatre" and they showed 3 Stooges reels and did funny skits.
Brilliant and joyous! A New Orleans street parade on sand, not easy. A man and woman walk across past the boat at 1 minute and 7 seconds! Then a few others crowd in at 1 minute and 47 seconds. They should have joined in the march!
I am preparing a Funeral where this has been requested. I am a Celebrant

Fabulous! Didn't he ramble goes back to the 19-teens and is a N.O. classic. It's so great to see 'pops' playing it in real life! Thanks!
