  • Strasburg owns that thomas, and they run it on its own!

    What a workout!

    Nick

  • I can hear Thomas' wheel rods clanking when he gets closer

  • are those real buffers? is this tank engine british or american?

  • out of all the real thomas' this is my fave

  • Now thats what I like a steam thomas!

  • @MrDoctorDalek I agree. All of the other Day Outs with Thomas in the US suck because the Thomases, there aren't even powered. It always needs a helper engine in the back, pushing it. But the Thomas at the Day Out with Thomas in Strasburg Railroad is the real thing. It's powered by steam and doesn't need a helper in the back except for when it needs to be pulled back to the station. Much different then the other Day Outs with Thomas in the US.

  • If tree huggers started to demand steam logomotives to be banned. Then that's.... crazy. The funny thing is, a desiel train is more bad for the planet than a steam engine

  • @Metalgona tree huggers suck dong and only use up money

  • diesels are worst for the envirement thatn steam trains thats like camp fire smoke nothing to much you can chill

  • @treytrey2946 go kill youself. your not needed on earth. your CO2 that comes out of your mouth... pollution. whats next you want to ban camp fires?

  • @CaptainAnarchy316 it's an OPINION dumbass. i know we all pollute NO SHIT SHERLOCK. But you don't see that much smoke coming out of my mouth do you? NO i didn't think so. I can guarantee that you're puffing some smoke out of your mouth.

  • @treytrey2946 i dont smoke, now dont change the subject, kill your self. and your parents.

  • @CaptainAnarchy316 whatever floats your boat. :)

  • The others are self propelled but they are about as powerful a strackmobiles. I have been behind this one at the Illinois Railway Museum, and the diesel one was pulling CSS coaches with an alco at the end in Iowa

  • ehh. hmmm, I dont think that engine is a fake steamer. Its definately real, thats serious stack talk for a little train pulling that big of a train.

  • That thomas is real, they basically redesign an old train. Sadly the train that thomas is was never preserved.

  • ya their was one e2 in briton thats a thomas

  • it was restored from a 060 switcher

  • Actually, this Thomas is a steam replica made from a dockside switcher. There are 5 other Thomases though that do what you say. These resemble the TV Thomas more. The diesel is there cause the engine is small and needs a push. :)

  • He is real. Steam driven too. And dont worry, kids who love Thomas love trains. I'm a great fan of NS.

  • Actually, in this case, Thomas isn't really pulling the train. The diesel at the rear is pushing the whole thing backwards. Thomas is probably just a facade on a flatbed car rigged to puff smoke and whistle. But the kids don't have to know that. :)

  • If the kids think that is a real steamer kids know better. That's not out line that's real steam, that engine was originally BEDT #15 built by H.K. Porter, It is know owned by strasburg RR in strasburg Pa.

  • no that thomas is the only real thomas in the world the disel isnt there for a push either it is there for headlights and a horn on the other end of the rain when it goes back to the station that thomas was restored from a 1917 switcher at strasburg RR PA and it only needs another engine for saftey on the return trip

  • Wow, great info! I'm much more impressed with it, now! Thanks for the follow-up.

  • @KZ1993 Its not the only "real thomas" in the world in fact the strasburgs thomas isn't really "real" becuase the cylinders and valve gear are not hidden inside the fram like the "real thomas"

Also the diesel at the end of the train is actually helping move the train Thomas can be seen making the return trip in reverse caboose first without any assistance.

  • That Thomas the Tank Engine kinda looks like he is real from the Thomas & Friends TV Shows for little children, I'm sure they had fun on that train, but I think they didn't care about the NS action behind the muesum. Nice Clip!
