@ironmaiden2551 Lol....... Having owned both an Epi and the yamaha in question, i'm afraid to say the AES is miles better, play, tone and construction are all superior.
if i dont play with one of this i cant tell my oponion for yamaha .i prefer gibson,epiphone and ibanez.However yamaha seems to be nice for a biginner but not for a concert

the tone selector is the weak point, they should have just opted for the traditional tone control. Plus they use shit low grade metal for the individual tail pieces... the strings eventually rip into the metal. My favorite feature on my AES 820 is the bridge since it's low profile and comfortable.
Hi AES sounds great. I've been looking for it, but hardly it appears in the market now. Right now there is one Yamaha AES420 on eBay with the price, US$ 132 only. I think it's a bargain. I'm about to bid. What do you think?
My first guitar was an RGX 112, I got an epiphone sg 400 now, but I think i'll go sell the epiphone and use the money to upgrade the yamaha, thinking of slamming a floyd rose on there, and the stock pickups ... just... won't .... do :P
From what I recall when I started to learn the guitar I got most of my tips and techniques from MYGUITARGURU (dot) INFO , they have a huge archive of videos, if you work your way through them, you will start getting the hang of it in no time.
I was able to get one of the AES720s for a mere $350 ... I got it on special sale price from Musician's Friend because Yamaha had just announced that they were being discontinued ... but the demand was so great that Musician's Friend apparently ordered some more from Yamaha and sold them for a higher price ... now, only the used ones are available. ... it's a beautifully made guitar with a BIG sound. I can't believe I got it so cheaply ... however, I found I prefer the Fender single coil sound.
The aes720 is a great guitar. I remember when they first came out, they listed for $999 and sold for about $700. Nice used ones are worth about $400 now I wish I never sold mine.
It depends of the sound you prefer. If you like the traditional Les Paul sound, go for the 920. If you want a modern and heavier sound get the 720. DiMarzio it's not better than Duncan, and viceversa. It depends of the sound you are searching.
dude, i just wanna have your opinion if which is better between the 720 and 920 in terms of quality,especially the sound.. and dude, which is more expensinve?920 or 720? ynx dude.. i will appreciate your help and those who will help answer those questions..tnx.. ^_^
I have an 920 and I've played the 720 before. The 720 is the best value for the money by far. But aes920 is a lil more high quality, but the back looks really strange on the black one since brown wood doesn't match black...But that 720 is awesome. I got my 920 for 850 though used...

I got a yamaha pacifica112 it might look like a small beginer thrash guitar but I would recommend it to everyone, seriously the neck feels great and it has a good tone specially for blues with the neck pickup.
i used to sell guitars, and i bought a AES820 which are now discontinued... i have a bronze finish version. The one thing they must have got a lot of complaints about was the odd 3-way tone nob they used on the older version AES models instead of the master tone like they have now? i haven't tried the new models but i think that's what they changed. I am going to get a 620 or a 920 also.
I own an AES-720 and it's great especially for 300 dollars. I havent played the 920, but I can tell you that for the money the 720 is extremely versatile and just feels great. And to slighe39..... I dont think they're ugly :(
I'd like 720, couse it has more metallic sound, but 720 melodic too. My friend bougth aes 920 and Crate 65watt amplifier. I want to buy 720. What amplifier I should buy to it (amp price 100-150$, maybe more)?
@ironmaiden2551
I think les pauls are overated really. I tried them.
