@klote2314 With all due respect the Dominican team was better than the Netherlands, they had and have the better defence, and offence in every position. They did lose and got cocky but thats because they were chosen to win the whole tournament. Only us USA had a chance to challenge them, or the Japan team. They did fall short but in my opinion they are the Packers from the NFL, they are the Lakers from the NBA, they are the Yankees for the MLB. you always look foward to playing the DR.

The Netherlands are the ones who build the fundaments of New York, called New Amsterdam before the city was sold to the English.

The New York Yankees are named after two popular Dutch names, especially back in those days: Jan and Kees. Put them together and you have JanKees. Which of course later on changed to Yankees.

First of all, Netherlands is not an empire, but a kingdom and secondly, it could never be the Commonwealth as the Dutch Antilles are not another country (like Australia and the UK).
