  • I was so happy watching that ! Do you even know what that means for a country where the majority of kids learn to play the game on WOODEN SHOES !!! for crying out loud.

  • @beatbands1966 Wooden shoes? Tourists still believing this rofl.

  • @HacksFirst yes, it's a way of life and if you ever milk a cow , make sure you don't wear tennis shoes or you'll break your foot.

  • @kingxkobe24 how can winning 2 times in a row be luck?

you underestimated us and u got punished for it

  • @klote2314 With all due respect the Dominican team was better than the Netherlands, they had and have the better defence, and offence in every position. They did lose and got cocky but thats because they were chosen to win the whole tournament. Only us USA had a chance to challenge them, or the Japan team. They did fall short but in my opinion they are the Packers from the NFL, they are the Lakers from the NBA, they are the Yankees for the MLB. you always look foward to playing the DR.

  • @klote2314 exactly. and they are just not informed on the history we in holland have in baseball. Keep underestimatng us, we just won another one from Taipei :)

  • huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy q viva puerto rico!!!!

  • gooood job. i will check Orage and Cuba in wbc.

  • WOW. upset is always interesting.

  • jajajajajajajajaja. que verguenza, no tiene corazon para el deporte, solo piensan en dinero, no representan con dignida a su pais, se lo merecen.......come mierdas........arriba Puerto Rico.........lol

  • Now the Netherlands goes into a pool with Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and the USA. Three powerhouses.

If they can pull off one more stunner against Venezuela (maybe an even better lineup than DR: Magglio Ordonzez, M. Cabrera, Carlo Guillen, Bobby Abreu) , and the US stop Puerto Rico....then it's the Netherlands vs. USA for a trip to the FINALS.

  • hahahahaha!!! You are dreaming!!

  • All I can say about the comments from the D-R fans, excuses excuses excuses. there is a 83 million dollar gap between the D-R team's payroll and the Dutch...passion is stronger than money!

Some other baseball facts: Netherlands was the first team to beat Cuba on the Olympics.

And indeed, the Netherlands is a kingdom, New york was founded by the Dutch. That why you also have so much Dutch names in NY: Amterdam Av, Harlem (named after a city in NL: Haarlem) Brooklyn (city in NL: Breukelen)

  • this is what makes the WBC awesome.

  • The Netherlands are the ones who build the fundaments of New York, called New Amsterdam before the city was sold to the English.

The New York Yankees are named after two popular Dutch names, especially back in those days: Jan and Kees. Put them together and you have JanKees. Which of course later on changed to Yankees.

    True strory.

  • tnx for explaining this more

  • iera

  • thats scary :P

  • haha :P ik keek effe je profiel en toen herkende ik je :P

  • The Dutch were a better team

  • Oranje Majic

  • What a great game! I hope this will inspire some dutch children to start playing baseball!

  • DOMINICAN QUE PASO,TE CAISTE? LOL

  • Excuse me, Latinfootballer. First of all, Netherlands is not an empire, but a kingdom and secondly, it could never be the Commonwealth as the Dutch Antilles are not another country (like Australia and the UK). The Antilles are really Dutch. And we also missed some strong players, so no excuses now! :-)

  • SORRY, BUT U GUYS HAD AN ALL STAR LINE UP. all u guys were saying we are going 2 take it all. thats what happens when your stars are all swinging 4 the fences trying 2 hit the ball over the wall in every @ bat. sorry its sounds like alot of sour grapes 2 me. that an imbarassment if u ask anybody. sorry once again. down goes the dominican..

  • the dutch has put europe baseball on the map way to go from cuba! lol

  • This is up there with All-time greatest game-winning calls by an announcer.

    "Down goes the Dominican!!!"

  • That team should be called the Dutch Empire of the Dutch Commonwealth because it included the antilles as well.

  • It is game to the history.

    It is one win.

It is very best to wins!

  • good Oppai.

  • That's a terrible excuse. They shouldn't need all those guys to beat the Netherlands. Maybe some of the better teams in the tournament, but that's just sad for the DR.

OTOH, great for baseball in the Netherlands.

  • lol, like that means anything. There was only a couple players on the Netherlands team that had even played in the majors or minors.

  • Netherlands doesnt have Andruw Jones, Jair Jurrjens, and Shairon Martis

  • Didn't matter, either team would get crushed by the US.

  • Massive upset. Unfortunately, the chances of getting demolished by the US, PR and Venezuela are very high.

  • Do you believe in Bill Buckner? YES!

  • crazy!!!!!
