@bhagavanize couldn't have explained their music any better. may finding the beauty and sharing this pain be my cure. beautiful sadness. love this band. such 'feel-good' music
You like this band, but they look sad? LOL, if you really liked them, you´d know this "sad quality" is an absolutely essential part of their music. In fact, that´s exactly what is so loveable about them. Their "sad" songs have much more strength and intensity than the jolly ones will ever have. They are the real Cure for our disease... helping us find the beauty and share the pain from living in this sick world. The Cure forever!
The only thing keeping me from loving this band is how dead they are on stage :/...if they wernt so like depressing looking i would absolutely love this band.
@billejoe56 you expect them to be like pathetic commercial slaves like Nickelback or the like yelling and telling people to jump around or launching fireworks for no reason? i dont see how this is a poor stage presentation at all, it fits the music style they play
@hellchild65 ._. did i in anyway insult them or get mad? No, and dont attack the other bands they are obviously making more than you are. so STFU. i like this band but they look sad DEAL WITH IT OK? im not gunna have an arguement with a fucking child.
@billejoe56 you said they were bad live, i just commented disagreeing with you. your the one acting like a child over it telling me to stfu and "DEAL WITH IT!" and "they make more money then you!" (last one makes no sense because money isnt the issue, many people make more money then me and problly vast majority of ppl on this site), id say your the one who is the child here
@billejoe56 I know u discussed this with a guy already but u gotta understand that this isnt punk music, what do u want them to do, start jumping and screaming to a song like this?they dont move alot because they are feeling the song, and a band should be judged mainly by the music that they make, so its kinda weird that u dislike a band just because they dont move alot on stage...
they touched the heavens above and beyond.something all of you experience once in a lifetime.bands like this should stay.huh the cure should be written in history.
I have heard that Robert is kind of an a**hole, to other band members, But his Music speaks for itself! Usually geniouses are difficult for others to endure! THE CURE IS AWESOME! I have made some of my BEST and most Erotic memories with the cure. GOD LIFE WAS AWESOME IN 1986,7,8,9......94. Every single possitive memory from that time involves a Cure song or album...I Pray the next gen. has the Cure!
There really was 3 versions of this same incredible song: to wish impossible thing, this twilight garden, and underneath the stars, they are pretty much the same song at different times of the band and each amazingly well done, I love them all
someone said to me once that this guy couldn't sing. Oh well... what's left to humankind if we can't appreciate this peice of art for what is worth... The cure is just Magical.
@staind531 The Essence found a lot of inspiration from The Cure. The Cure is the greatest band ever, so why wouldn't you be inspired by them. I wouldn't go as far as to say they copied them though. The Essence is great in their own way.
The day Robert leaves this world will be a sad day for me. Knowing that one of the truly scarce, great things on this planet has left.
That's why it's our duty, as the current generation to cast aside mediocrity, push for the stars for quality and integrity in what we do. For me, that's music, so that other people one day can maybe listen to my generation, like I listened to robert, and sit in hope at 2:30 in the morning, at how long this will continue for.
@dano555666 Even tho Robert probably will leave this world one day (strange if he diddn't) his music will still be here on this earth forever and ever! :D
specially INTEGRITY, I mean this guys would have never been whom they are would have they followed stupid managerial advices like the ones band cast for today. I mean, they could have made even much much more money than they did but they kept their style and core structure and performing level thru time, they've made ever better records each time and continue to perform live like the great band they'll always be. "Chapeaux" to Mr Smith and the crew, you are true artists.
i disagree with with the highest rated comments, the album disintegration was a great album that you could just play the whole thing in the back ground while chillin out and every song was good. These songs are a good evolution of the Cure but not the BEST of the cure by far.
This is the kind of music than can relax me, and just totally make my mind travel to an other perfect universe. It like takes everything bad away for 7:00 minutes!
This is one of my favorite songs by them. I own all the albums by the Cure and I don't really like anything after Wish but this album changes my mind on that. I don't know... there is something about it. It's like mixing the 1989 disintegration cure with Robert being in his 50's. It's just really good. It's perfect.
@leonjordison, the guitar player is Porl Thompson, who left the band in the mid 90's to tour with Page and Plant. He was an original member from the early days and is actually married to Robert's sister...great musician
This was the only song I enjoyed from the new album...probably because it feels like Disintegration and Bloodflowers. But I was mesmerized for every moment of the show of their 2008 tour. That's when I really know it's an amazing band (idea?), Robert Smith's an amazing artist...that even those songs that I don't really listen to on the studio albums, I absolutely adore them when I'm there, hearing them live. Anyway, I think it's time for me to revisit 4:13 Dream...lol
@littleemoboy001. It's a schecter Robert smith model...go figure, he designed it about ten years ago. It really carries the sound of his old fender VI bass which is discontined
my school did 'a midsummer nights dream' and we had a 'dumb show' at the begining of the play, and this was the opening song. the fairies danced to it and played out what was going to happen in the play. it was awesome. i love this song. so many memories come with it.
it's things like these that make me forget that we've come to the dark age where justin bieber can conquer the world, where as artist like the cure i writing music that makes you think and mainstream artist today just deliver literal sense to everything because the listeners are too stupid to think about what real lyrics mean.
I love this song so much. I made an abstract painting and wrote these lyrics on the back of and kissed it with red lipstick, then gave it to my boy friend. He means the world to me and this song was the perfect words to let him know that
Rob is a legend yes...but I disagree with him being the possible last rock poet...I agree there are very few, but claudio from coheed and cambria is by far a great rock poet...all of their songs are about a concept. He almost writes ballads instead of songs. Its amazing. This song is so good, so atmospheric...
This song is incredible. One of the best from 4:13. If anyone is looking for the whole show, curecolours com has this entire show for download in audio (and a ton of other ones).
