yep, Marion Woronin is credited with 9.994 or some such......... but it was with the biggest wind allowable in his hometown and timed by his countryman in a non international event. No-one takes it seriously especially since his next best was 10.12
Give him time, boy... maybe about 4-6 years. He's just 20, remember, and unlike Shirvington, Lemaitre's potential is much greater. He just needs to continue working hard and not let all the hype get to him. He's already set new standards for a white sprinter. Don't underestimate his drive and determination, boy.
I have a reasonable belief Lemaitre will win a number of Olympic and World Championship medals in the future. He just needs to improve his strength, technique, and conditioning. Not only is he the fastest white man in history, he'll become one of the greatest sprinters ever from Europe.

I have a reasonable belief Lemaitre will win a number of Olympic and World Championship medals in the future. He just needs to improve his strength, technique, and conditioning. Not only is he the fastest white man in history, he'll become one of the greatest sprinters ever from Europe.

@indianwhite In order for him to live up to his potential I think he must change his training regimin to include more 400m style workouts as stated before.It worked for Tyson Gay the reason 44.89 its his pr for the 400m he ran it this past summer in a meet in Texas.It allowed him to break a long standing world mark in the 200m dash straightaway 19.41 formerly held by Tommie Smith going back to the 1960's.

Mbanjock needs to get himself together, he cannot have this guy beating him like this next season as in my view Mbanjock is a superior athlete, potentially. Lemaitre won't break 9.90, and I can say this as fact, and considering the fact that I can still probably name at least 8 athletes in front of this guy means that he isnt really anything special yet, as Yohan Blake is the same age as this guy and has ran 9.88 and 19.76 already and is clearly still improving.

Sprinters are just part of the iceberg that includes most American sports. The few that get caught like Marion Jones are not an exception. West African descent blacks have an advantage at 100m. Maybe not 200 or 400, def not middle distance, but defo 100m and maybe long distance where East Africans have a similar edge. Lemaitre is a very strange case because for his age he is third of all time, very strange white boy. I don't see what Lemaitre has to do with this as he's not a top guy yet, just a decent youth prospect. I have suspicions about the top guys because of their times compared to the previous generation who were mostly juiced. I'd say that was an entirely reasonable point of view given they are much faster but supposedly clean. Lemaitre's times are quite pedestrian compared to your Bolts Gays and Powell's so not swimming in the same pond. He will have pressure to juice in years ahead.
