@TheyHaveBeenWaiting I've never used vermiculite, but I've heard from others that it works well. I've heard from most who've been through all of the experimenting with different subs that EcoEarth is the best though.
When you have a bunch of T's I can definitely see it taking forever to make changes and transfers, especially when you need to modify the enclosures. I still don't have many, only 4 actually for now, but I'm gonna be getting at least a couple at a time from every expo here on.
@AlexRC113 I like the ikea cube style shelving (on legs for air etc.) Great in the light wood color for dust appearance, and the cubes space inside each is about 13" high and 15 deep.
Clear plastic tubs work. If you take the neck off a random plastic jar and glue it, you now will have a threaded port hole to unscrew on the side. You can even cut out the lid/porthole for a clearer viewing round porthole for side access!(plexyglass)
I will make a vid.Look at my background with the legs/shelving!
@BehindTheGlassINC DeathcoreMusik is right, and also it depends on what type of person YOU are. For example, are you the type to get fancy, or the type to go with simple? They are pretty cheap and affordable to care for as long term pets, but getting started, especially for a nice fancy setup can turn out expensive.
@BehindTheGlassINC depends on what you want, desert T's are cheaper than Tropical T's, and need different conditions. Also depends on what sorta tarantula you want.
@TerraEvolution Thanks!

Alex, I've been using the eco earth from the start, but am trying the 50/50 vermiculite/eco earth for now.
Right now I'm in the observation stages, but really like the new combo.
The vermiculite is pure organic w/ no crap.
Tell me what you think if you ever jump on it.
It takes the whole weekend to redo and drill holes for all the set-ups for the ones that can handle transfers.
