Why does the announcer pocket the first three balls after the break?

They call it 6-Ball even though it starts as a 9-Ball rack.
The reason is to make the games faster and to make it easier for the lesser players to have a chance to win (since this is not handicapped)
The rack always starts with 6 balls, unless more than 3 are made on the break. The lowest are removed until there are 6 balls.
Since I can't make a ball on the break on that table (!!!) , in the games shown here - 3 were removed and the other player started shooting the 4 ball.

I remember that - they were playing straight pool in the back and I was there to watch some, and saw some of the artistic as well. I remember seeing you there. Keep up the good shooting - I'll see you in Valley Forge?
