@vincentofoshento Check your stem, resin builds up and cloggeds the hit. Also, make sure you dont pack it too tight, this also can cause this to happen. Cleaning always helps and its just sanitary, plus no one wants to smoke out of a bong that looks like it was used for crack.

I just wanted to comment on the use of 90,80,70% alcohol. While it makes sense that the less diluted a product is the stronger it is this isn't the case when discussing disinfectants and biological type spills which smokables are. The water is needed to help break down lipids and is essential to killing bacteria (most bacteria will be happy to go dormant in a 100% alcohol until someone picks them up). All of this is just to say that diluted alcohol is just fine for any sort of cleaning.

I think smaller granules would cover more surface area of the glass of the bong. Bigger granules mean more surface contact with the SALT, I recommend iodized salt...

Use 99% isopropyl alcohol if possible. I used this stuff with regular table salt and it cleaned my 12 finger 2 chamber bong with ease. Took 3 minutes with this method. My bong looks absolutely brand new now. This is a very good method to use. A+

The larger salt granule is wrong, well its wrong for the reason he gave. you want a smaller granule, smaller granules fit closer together providing more salt to glass contact. And second 70% iso is fine, there is no noticeable difference above 60% concentration. I own a head shop and we make our own cleaner...

Alcohol is a bad idea to use because when you rinse it out there is still alcohol left over inside, and the next time you spark a flame and breath in. You'll be breathing in all the combusted vapours... Witch can end up killing you.
