@JaM3s7eR If you eventually wanna experience both games, go for oblivion first. It's an amazing game and will last perhaps even more than fallout 3, depending on you and your preferences, but there's no doubt that you'll enjoy both. However playing fallout 3 first might kinda ruin it because it has some improvements in terms of how the game works and oblivion might lose some appeal because of that. But oblivion would look like the best game ever if you play it first.

@hydrotag tbh, i haven't played much of dragon age origins, so i can't tell you too much about it, it's a good game though, and i'm sure you'll be happy with either one you buy. elder scrolls 4 is cheaper, and from what i've played of dragon age, i like elder scrolls more. if you like fallout, you'll like elder scrolls. i've heard dragon age has a better story, but the combat is more similar to WoW and its more complicated than elder scrolls.
the gates suck, they are all the same... that killed this game for me. Demon's souls is way better, hard as hell but so rewarding oooh just perfect. cheers.

I have a really powerful PC running XP (4GB RAM limit), and game looks so freaking awesome, lowest framerate was about 50fps (running on max; 1280x1024+4xAA), and usually its about 75-80fps, and only glitch I have ever encountered was the one where I actually jumped off the map in Skingrad castle, but its only achievable with some special boots and really high agility... Ofc I have the latest update for this game installed.
BTW, invisible NPCs and enemies are a part of some quests!
my game on the xbox has never ever crashed why is everyone angry about this, i played for a very long time, the only way it could crash is if you play for like 10 hours non stop with no a/c and no fan near your xbox
No game has ever brought me into a different world and filled me with such emotion in the plot as Dragon Age has. Well actually Elder scrolls IV Oblivion did that also for me

@darrenk65 New vegas is amazing. It's a ton more serious and mature then Fallout 3. By that I mean the tone, feel, and atmosphere is great in the sense that it just treats itself seriously. Violence isn't taken as lightly. it reflects politics, society and human behavior much more... clearly. but that's just my opinion. I just love New Vegas for the whole "fight for power and do anything to get it." But I might be biased, I haven't played oblivion.
@darrenk65 Depends, If you want melee combat and midevil setting, get Oblivion, if you want a sci-fi setting and shooting, go with Fallout, but if you can get both! You won't see the outside for a loooooong time. But personally I prefer Fallout 3.
this and and fallout games are the funnest games i've ever played. i must have about 100 hours on oblivion, 100 on fallout 3 and well over 60 on fallout new vegas (already in 10 or so days)
I can't believe he spent 3 seconds mentioning the level scaling mechanic that takes away the ENTIRE INVENTIVE TO PROGRESS in the game. Graphics music framerate are worth 5:40 minutes, gameplay is worth 0:03 seconds?

@Crimsonpencil sometimes i dont know if the half made oblivion is a huge mistake or a stroke of genius, there are so many unfinished quests and loose ends that can be frustrating, but on the other hand the lack of those things triggered a lot of superb quests/landscape/races/armor/ui mods, that give the game new life.
moded oblivion can be a superb game, and it give a lot of gamplay time, i play for a year and a half and i still love it.
I played this game for over 200hrs. I got few things I didnt like that nobody seems to talk about. First of all, the items are very ordinary. I wouldn't be proud to wear the ingame armours or weapon. Its just a workclothes. The magic also looks very mundane. Big blob of fire or ice is so lackluster. Plus theres no beard! Have you seen a fantasy media where nobdy has a beard? No children as well everyone just stopped having kids. People look ugly as well, inhumanly ugly
actually you're wrong about the pc stuttering. I saw someone with windows 7, 4-5 gigs of ram, an external hard drive with around a tera byte of space on it, and a 64 bit windows 7 graphics card and the game still stuttered... a lot.
the game just has stuttering problems plain and simple, the game just doesn't want to run right.

my game on the xbox has never ever crashed why is everyone angry about this, i played for a very long time, the only way it could crash is if you play for like 10 hours non stop with no a/c and no fan near your xbox

No game has ever brought me into a different world and filled me with such emotion in the plot as Dragon Age has. Well actually Elder scrolls IV Oblivion did that also for me

@iwams1 no bescause xbox will break down in the middle of u playing. it. a 70% failure rate. tht sucks!!! ps3 has about a 10% failure rate. so YAH

@25stealthshooter actually xbox has a 23.4% failure rate (the slim) and ive had my xbox for a while and no problems, and I also has a ps3, and guess what? it fucking broke.

but i don't want them to rush it because
a) i still haven't finished everything in oblivion (including dlcs)
and b) i want the game to be bigger and better looking and rushing through it will just create a buggy piece of crap that only fanboys would enjoy

@darrenk65 New vegas is amazing. It's a ton more serious and mature then Fallout 3. By that I mean the tone, feel, and atmosphere is great in the sense that it just treats itself seriously. Violence isn't taken as lightly. it reflects politics, society and human behavior much more... clearly. but that's just my opinion. I just love New Vegas for the whole "fight for power and do anything to get it." But I might be biased, I haven't played oblivion.

@darrenk65 Depends, If you want melee combat and midevil setting, get Oblivion, if you want a sci-fi setting and shooting, go with Fallout, but if you can get both! You won't see the outside for a loooooong time. But personally I prefer Fallout 3.

this and and fallout games are the funnest games i've ever played. i must have about 100 hours on oblivion, 100 on fallout 3 and well over 60 on fallout new vegas (already in 10 or so days)

I can't believe he spent 3 seconds mentioning the level scaling mechanic that takes away the ENTIRE INVENTIVE TO PROGRESS in the game. Graphics music framerate are worth 5:40 minutes, gameplay is worth 0:03 seconds?

i played alot of side missions and was level 8 before i even ave the amulet of kings to that guy i was in arcn niversaty beat and was a murderurer and chapin of the arena s much fun in this game

obviously there is things I liked about it, I spent alot of time but the folks at the bethesda need to fire their art concept designer and hire someone new. Feel free to discuss on my views but please no fanboy angry rants plz. PS: I know about big community and lots of mods, they don't fix everything

@Crimsonpencil sometimes i dont know if the half made oblivion is a huge mistake or a stroke of genius, there are so many unfinished quests and loose ends that can be frustrating, but on the other hand the lack of those things triggered a lot of superb quests/landscape/races/armor/ui mods, that give the game new life.
moded oblivion can be a superb game, and it give a lot of gamplay time, i play for a year and a half and i still love it.

I played this game for over 200hrs. I got few things I didnt like that nobody seems to talk about. First of all, the items are very ordinary. I wouldn't be proud to wear the ingame armours or weapon. Its just a workclothes. The magic also looks very mundane. Big blob of fire or ice is so lackluster. Plus theres no beard! Have you seen a fantasy media where nobdy has a beard? No children as well everyone just stopped having kids. People look ugly as well, inhumanly ugly

I play this game for so long.....
and it is the best game that i have ever played.
Add Deadly reflex, supreme magicka, a monster mod (i use Meogron Knights) and you have a stunning game.

actually you're wrong about the pc stuttering. I saw someone with windows 7, 4-5 gigs of ram, an external hard drive with around a tera byte of space on it, and a 64 bit windows 7 graphics card and the game still stuttered... a lot.
the game just has stuttering problems plain and simple, the game just doesn't want to run right.
