You guys don't seem to listen to a lot of death metal... He seems to be in the process of recording, so to be fair, it doesn't really seem like a drum solo. You have to sacrifice articulation, "groove", volume, and "power" (you can see his hand technique is different) for this kind of music. His foot technique is impeccable. You should all be congratulating this guy on his incredible study of technique in speed.

I am sure its hard to do but it still sounds awful.even though it requires skill and concentration it is far from the art of being the backbone of a band and setting a groove.

Being the "backbone" etc. is just one aspect of other genres of music, if you don't like death metal, then don't listen to a death metal drummer. given the complicated microphone setup i'd expect the wound to be MUCH better... and his cymbals are awful, it sounds like he's mounted a whole lot of hi-hat cymbals and used them instead of crashes
for me it is just noise. like a very fast guitar on two or three notes only... makes no music at all and it doesn't show the drummer's quality neither.
This would have been better if we coiuld hear the music he's playing to (if any). Otherwise, pretty boring after a while. Lots of press rols, and he's good at that. But technically good doesn't mean its not boring.

Impressive speed maybe yeah, but there's little creativity in all of this. So speed=5 stars, repeat listening=1 star. This is just winging it.
